UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE - Disrespectful and dishonest. Before the exam, I presented my insurance voucher. No one mentioned any issue with coverage. The doctor finally saw me (25 minutes after my appointment time) and only AFTER the exam was completed did Vanessa at the front desk suddenly claim it "doesn't cover contact lenses." This should have been communicated upfront. Anything else feels misleading at best. Felt extremely deceptive and dishonest on their part. When my mom calmly asked for clarification, Vanessa became increasingly condescending and dismissive, speaking to her in a patronizing tone. Another employee then inserted herself into the situation and immediately escalated it by raising her voice and talking over us. At NO point at all were we being rude. There was no reason for them to be hostile. We were simply asking reasonable questions. My mom doesn't speak perfect English, and the way they addressed her felt unnecessarily harsh and lacking in basic respect or patience. It created a very uncomfortable dynamic that no customer should have to deal with. I had to call them out on this and told them that they were being rude, to which they simply doubled down. Even after repeatedly asking why we weren't just INFORMED about the lack of coverage before the exam, no one could provide a straight answer...just deflection and attitude. Not only have I been to a handful of different eye doctors before and have never experienced this, but also I've been coming here since I was a child for my glasses, which makes this even more disappointing. This office lacks transparency, accountability, and respect for its clients. They are perfectly willing to provide services without clearly explaining costs. And then they'll try to treat you poorly if you question it. Take your money somewhere that actually values honesty and basic customer service. read more

Overpriced frames and lenses. No return or satisfaction policy listed on a generic sales slip. When I questioned these points I was told that I must not care about my eyes. I was able to buy 2 pairs of the same glasses quoted to me for half the price. Avoid! read more

Timing is everything. Schedule your appointment for morning or midday and you will be seen promptly. The optometrist was very pleasant and did a nice job. He explained the changes in my eyes thoroughly. Afterwards, when trying on the resultant eyeglasses, I had to insist that a change be made because of a faint shadow on letters. The person who makes the lenses agreed and I was not charged for the redo. The salespeople were friendly and patient and helped me find a newer, more modern frame that I was hesitant about, but now love. All in all my experience was a positive one and I would recommend CNO to anyone who needs eyeglasses. I can not comment on contacts because I do not wear them. read more

I was very disappointed in the doctors service. The front end folks are nice but the doctor or the technician should be flagged. I will never shop there again. I went in for a stick on temporary prism lens and was told it would take an hour to install. The tech or doctor did not clean the lens or ensure nothing was going to be trapped under the stick in lens. See photo. I'm livid. read more

I have had many disappointing eye exams at other companies and have been treated terribly so when it comes to eye exams, I'm always suspicious. My fiance recommended this place because he swears by them. I was not disappointed at all! I didn't see the regular doctor but saw a female doctor. She was absolutely excellent and when I mentioned I had a connective tissue disorder, she knew exactly what my rare genetic condition was and put my mind at ease. She was really wonderful. The two sister employees who run the front were also beyond helpful and friendly. Even though I have insurance, it covers very little and I'm not made of money. They worked with my budget and found me a really cute pair of glasses in the exact style I wanted. They didn't make me feel bad for not being rich and also gave me my RX so I could order sunglasses online. I have never had an experience this positive at any glasses store before so they were all a breath of fresh air. I will be going back anytime I need new glasses or a new exam! read more

Yesterday was my first visit here and I was very impressed with the entire staff. I first sat down and filled out the necessary paperwork for a first time visitor. They accept my union medical coverage which is definitely a plus. Shortly after filling out the paperwork I was called in to have my eyes examined...very professional, thorough process. I needed just a touch stronger reading glasses than I currently had, and the progressive lenses were explained to me as I good option. I went back outside to pick out frames. They have a large selection to choose from, and offer good opinions on styles. The frames are also reasonably priced. Finally the frames and lenses were measured and my visit for the day was complete, and my new glasses should be ready in a few days. Everyone who works there is knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Out of pocket expenses seem minimal. And the location is easy access with ample parking. I highly recommend Central Nassau Optical! read more

I find that looking for glasses is difficult because these are things will be attached to your face for at least 2 years and you want to find ones you will be happy with. If you want to be happy DO NOT GO HERE. The woman in the front (support staff) are rude and pushy and should be fired. Tried to make an appointment and I am open to any time but my days are extremely limited I even went as far as saying if anything opens up call me I am right here I will come in. She gave me an appointment a week from this date and to make sure they didn't loose the frames I went to take the model number down. The lady at the front counter ripped them out of my hand and said "oh no your not going to screw us and buy these on the internet that's how mom and pop stores go out of business." Need you not worry I ordered them on the internet and yes I did indeed screw you thanks for the suggestion. I paid so little for a brand name . Your big mouth saved me tons. I have been coming here for years for my glasses. Three weeks ago I had an exam and ordered glasses with transitions as I have traditionally done. I was told it would take two weeks for them to come in which was fine. 4 days later I was called and was told they were ready. I picked them up at night and it wasn't until the next day that I realized they were not transitions. I called and was told not to worry to keep the current pair and they would order the new lenses and swap them when they came in. Two weeks have passed and no phone call. I call them and was told they couldn't find the order and they said they would call me back. All day I waited and called them at 4:30 and was told that Stephanie would call me back. I never heard from her. I Called again today because obviously someone didnt do thier job TWICE! and for the second time they were never ordered. I was told Stephanie was not in by vanessa and she said she would look into it and call me back. I had to call them 3 hours later because again I did not receive a phone call. The end result is now they claim I never ordered the transitions and i never paid for them. I suggested a full refund because I didn't get what I originally ordered and of course that's not an option for them. Not once have have they acknowledged or apologized for thier mistake and they are now blaming me for not ordering them at all. In addition to all of this they then blamed it on thier recent move to a new location so my question to them was then were they admitting that thier staff is not good enough to handle two things at once. I also requested a copy of my original receipt since I am not at home and 20 minutes later I still had not received it. When I called back they told me that they were "constructing" the receipt and it would take an hour. These are dishonest people and the customer service is awful and they have not tried to correct thier mistake or make amends of it either. I will not be returning for future business and would never recommend this place to anyone read more
