They're very accomodating, for example if you completely mix up appointment days, they squeeze you in when they can. All the doctors are great, but Dr. McNally is my favorite. She is unbelievably easy to talk to and has a fantastic sense of humor. She even made my husband feel comfortable. She answered all of our ridiculous questions, that I'm sure she's answered a thousand times before, but never made us feel that way. I felt like I had known her for years the way I felt so comfortable with her. Sadly though, I just saw a note in the office today that she is leaving the practice to go to North Shore (I think). In addition to Dr Plancher, I have had the wonderful opportunity to meet his new associate Dr. G. I was with her yesterday and she spent 30 minutes with me going over my medical history, asking questions and explaining the surgical procedure that I will be having next month with both Dr. G and Dr. Plancher. She wasn't available I guess so they asked if I wanted to see the midwife, I agreed. This was my first visit. The front desk ladies were nice enough, I don't have any complaints about them. This was my annual appointment and I had a few concerns. Nancy was very personable, I mostly enjoyed our visit but, there were moments that rubbed me the wrong way. One such moment was concerning my weight. I gained a few pounds during perimenopause, I was always a size 8, now I'm about a 12. I have always weighed more than I looked, maybe I'm big boned, I heard that was a thing lol. Anyway, she seemed a liiiiiittle too happy to tell me I was "obese" and needed to lose weight. This was the first time she'd seen me, no files were transferred, no medical records were given, so did she know if I was as big as she was before I came in there? If I was 600lbs and already DID lose weight? No, because she never asked. That said, she must've picked up on my facial cues because she did share that she had lost weight herself and showed me photos. I was like okay, girl because I didn't want to have to take out my mirror. Like how is somebody bigger than you going to tell you YOU need to lose weight? The woman who did my scan was ok, she didn't talk much which I actually prefer. It was a tolerable experience. Nancy then referred me to Dr. Behar. I think she noticed my reluctance because without prompting she reassured me that he was a nice guy in so many words. Okay. I had to take a separate trip to the office to see him for something they could've told me over the phone. But, I went to speak with him and found him to be a bit of a wise ass. I am over 50, my husband is younger than me and we do not want to have children, but I've heard stories of women who have had children at my age without medical intervention. I was still menstruating so I was concerned. Nancy gave me Phexxi so maybe there was something to be concerned about. (She set me up with the automatic deliveries, I thought she was just going to write me a script to try it or give me sample, I was charged and getting packages for months! My husband is abroad in the military, I didn't need it like that lol). Back to Behar, I asked him if he thought it could be possible for me to get pregnant, he said sarcastically,"What do you think?" I answered him Christian nicely, but before he posed that question, he failed to ask me my position on child bearing. He seemed to assume that I wanted to have kids and was speaking to me in a tone that was giving, "Really?" almost with a smirk, he kind of pissed me off tbh. I didn't really listen to him after that. They wanted me to have a procedure but, no one ever contacted me to schedule it like they said they would, which was fine because I wasn't going to have it anyway. I was considering going back to them to give them another chance and because I don't want to have to search for another GYN, but that's not a good enough reason for me. I was tempted to try their new spa, but when I saw these reviews it gave me pause and I thought I'd chime in with my thoughts.

I've switched gyno/ob's a few times over the years for numerous reasons...rude staff...2 hour long…read morewait times...disappearing after a c section with no follow up. I could go on. I came to Island OB for an emergency appointment. The staff accommodated me immediately. They were friendly and thorough. Dr Neuman was completely professional, empathetic, put me immediately at ease. Every time I've had to make an appointment or come for routine care, I always receive the best treatment from the front desk, the RNs, the Drs are always personable, accommodating and never make me feel rushed.

I had to physically go there three different times to get mine. Was diagnosed with a UTI after they sent me to my primary. They didn't even detect it although they take a sample every two weeks. Went to get the uti confirmed by doctor and results took 6 days. I was told on the 4th day they had the results but no one called or answered the office phone. On the 5th day, went there to get my results and they refused to give them to me because Dr. Behar was not on site. 6th day they called to tell me my results came back fine. I didn't trust them and had all tests run again thru my primary. Turns out, I still have a UTI. 3 weeks and going...

He said "I have performed hundreds of these procedures so just schedule the surgery" He truly didn't care about my feelings or the fact that I am a fellow medical professional. He got me out of his office quickly and passed me off to the woman who schedules procedures so she could set me up in the hospital. I treat patients of my own in a different area of Medicine and know how treat people with kindness and with a caring heart. Dr Behar showed me NO compassion, zero empathy and gave me an attitude. I made the grave mistake of giving him a second chance by going back to see him. What a HUGE MISTAKE! He was just as obnoxious and unpleasant the second time Around. He did not even enter the exam room. I had to go back into the waiting room until he was ready to talk to me. He is not nice and is egotistical. He was rude and made me feel terrible! I have never experienced such awful "bedside manner" in my life!!! I will never return to his practice ever again and I know he doesn't even care about getting a negative review. Simply the worst MD interaction I ever, ever had!!! Stay away
