I made an appointment with Dr. Torre because I prefer to be seen by women for all of my care, head to toe. She wasn't available I guess so they asked if I wanted to see the midwife, I agreed. This was my first visit. The front desk ladies were nice enough, I don't have any complaints about them. This was my annual appointment and I had a few concerns. Nancy was very personable, I mostly enjoyed our visit but, there were moments that rubbed me the wrong way. One such moment was concerning my weight. I gained a few pounds during perimenopause, I was always a size 8, now I'm about a 12. I have always weighed more than I looked, maybe I'm big boned, I heard that was a thing lol. Anyway, she seemed a liiiiiittle too happy to tell me I was "obese" and needed to lose weight. This was the first time she'd seen me, no files were transferred, no medical records were given, so did she know if I was as big as she was before I came in there? If I was 600lbs and already DID lose weight? No, because she never asked. That said, she must've picked up on my facial cues because she did share that she had lost weight herself and showed me photos. I was like okay, girl because I didn't want to have to take out my mirror. Like how is somebody bigger than you going to tell you YOU need to lose weight? The woman who did my scan was ok, she didn't talk much which I actually prefer. It was a tolerable experience. Nancy then referred me to Dr. Behar. I think she noticed my reluctance because without prompting she reassured me that he was a nice guy in so many words. Okay. I had to take a separate trip to the office to see him for something they could've told me over the phone. But, I went to speak with him and found him to be a bit of a wise ass. I am over 50, my husband is younger than me and we do not want to have children, but I've heard stories of women who have had children at my age without medical intervention. I was still menstruating so I was concerned. Nancy gave me Phexxi so maybe there was something to be concerned about. (She set me up with the automatic deliveries, I thought she was just going to write me a script to try it or give me sample, I was charged and getting packages for months! My husband is abroad in the military, I didn't need it like that lol). Back to Behar, I asked him if he thought it could be possible for me to get pregnant, he said sarcastically,"What do you think?" I answered him Christian nicely, but before he posed that question, he failed to ask me my position on child bearing. He seemed to assume that I wanted to have kids and was speaking to me in a tone that was giving, "Really?" almost with a smirk, he kind of pissed me off tbh. I didn't really listen to him after that. They wanted me to have a procedure but, no one ever contacted me to schedule it like they said they would, which was fine because I wasn't going to have it anyway. I was considering going back to them to give them another chance and because I don't want to have to search for another GYN, but that's not a good enough reason for me. I was tempted to try their new spa, but when I saw these reviews it gave me pause and I thought I'd chime in with my thoughts. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. It's disappointing to share this, but I hope it helps someone who is considering Femmpro Health. I went in for my annual check-up in January of this year--a preventative service that is typically free of charge. A week later, I received a bill for over $300 because the office submitted the wrong billing codes to my insurance (which is in-network). For context, they ran the exact same tests during last year's annual exam, and that visit was covered in full. I contacted my insurance company, who confirmed the mistake, but the billing department at Femmpro was unreachable. I called for months with no response. I even asked the receptionist to note in my account that this issue needed to be resolved directly with my insurance, since my annual exam should be free. Instead, I later received a notice from a collection agency holding me responsible for the charge--even though the office never returned any of my calls. I am now paying it down in increments just to be finished with this office, but their collection agency continues to harass me. While I understand the collection agency is doing its job, what's most frustrating is that Femmpro's administration and billing departments ignored both me and my insurance company for months, never correcting their mistake. I had a pleasant in-person visit on Thursday and received my results on Friday -- positive for BV. At the time, I was already taking a steroid, so I called the clinic on Saturday just to ask a simple question: should I continue the steroid or wait and be prescribed something else? I wasn't even calling to request antibiotics. I was fine waiting for the prescription until Monday, when my actual provider was scheduled to be back. All I wanted to hear was "yes, it is safe to keep using the steroids." Instead, I was connected with this terrible provider, Nancy Davidson, and the experience was honestly unacceptable. She didn't answer a single one of my concerns. She immediately cut to "gel or pill?" and said, "If you take the pill, you can't drink for two weeks." That was the entire exchange. She never told me I was being prescribed anything, never said it was an antibiotic, never explained how many times to take it, for how long, or even why it was being prescribed. When I asked for clarification, she snapped back with "that's not even what I said." Excuse me? At no point in our conversation did you say that I would have to use both. I only found out I was given a one-time dose antibiotic when I picked up the prescription myself. I called again and asked to speak with my actual provider. I called Monday, was told I would get a call back, yet I didn't. I got a call Tuesday morning and called back as soon as I could, was told she would call me soon, yet again no call back. It wasn't until Wednesday that I got a call back. When we finally spoke, she told me Nancy had prescribed me a higher-than-usual dose. As a nurse myself, I find it deeply concerning that any provider would prescribe medication without even telling the patient what they're being prescribed. Nancy also made it blatantly clear she was rushing to end the call. She didn't care to answer my question, didn't explain anything, and left me beyond confused. I understand that my issue was not as urgent as other patients, but all of this could have been avoided if Nancy was actually competent and did her job properly. I was extremely patient but by the end of it I was so mad. While I liked my provider during the visit, the follow-up care was absolutely awful, especially with Nancy. It is upsetting to see people like her with no care for their patients to even become providers. I will never return to this clinic again. read more

AS FOR THE FRONT DESK, idk who is running this facility but hire new desk people. I played phone tag for a month because they kept forgetting to call me back and not bothering to contact any of the physicians. to not call someone back and leave them hanging on results for an abnormal pap is INSANE. read more

Do not go to Dr. Linder at FemmPro. He has a horrible bedside manner--rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. He constantly complains about how much he hates his job and even yells inappropriate comments at patients. I once heard him say to another patient, "When you go to the dentist you open your mouth, but when they come here they won't spread their legs open." It was shocking and disturbing. No patient should ever be spoken to like that. He should not be practicing medicine, especially in women's health. Stay far away from FemmPro--this is not a safe or respectful environment. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Dawn Torre since 1999 and can't even imagine seeing another gynecologist besides her. She has the most amazing memory and bedside manner and is incredibly gentle, caring, kind, and helpful. It's not common for all doctors to remember things about your personal life and ask how you are and bring up specific details like she does. She blows my mind with her attention to detail and how much she genuinely cares about her patients health, well-being, and their lives. While the location is the same, the new office which is now located on the second floor of the building is absolutely stunning, modern, and state of the art in every way. All of the people who work at the office from the in take secretaries, to the medical assistants are so nice and make you feel right at ease. I can't recommend this office and gynecologist enough. I have also seen Dr. Marc Behar and he is also lovely and excellent. I wish I could give six stars I love these doctors and this practice so much!! read more

THE WORST OBGYN OFFICE!!! THE WORST. I wouldn't even give 1 star. They did a growth on my baby I'm 22 weeks and couldn't even give me my results same day. The new midwife Nancy said she would give me a call During my ultrasound, I'm guessing was a new student doesn't even know what she's doing nor did I even get to see my baby's body,legs,arms, no pictures nothing they tried to leave me with a picture of his heartbeat nothing else. read more

This is the worse practice ever! They do experimental blood draws on you without consent, it then gets denied by the ins and they expect to you to pay Lab corp. They block your emails and never return calls. Thank goodness I switched to a much more organized practice. I had to file a small claim suit in Hempstead today to get this settled. The biller Renee is absolutely clueless. if you go there make sure you question everything they do. The Garden City location is pathetic. I give them a -5 review. Beyond upset with Dr marc Behar. He was arrogant, condescending and made me feel awful. I had a consultation with him for a surgical procedure and he had zero compassion. He said " I have done hundreds of these procedures, just schedule the surgery". He didn't care about my questions or concerns and just rudely rushed me out of his office in order for me to see one of his office staff to schedule my surgical procedure in the hospital. I felt uncomfortable and canceled the surgery once I left. I also felt like the procedure was just a money maker for him and I was not treated with the human dignity every patient deserves. I also made the HUGE MISTAKE of going back to see him again. He was yet again nothing but egotistical and rude!!!! He made me feel terrible and he had ZERO compassion or empathy. His narcissistic attitude was disgraceful. He didn't even enter the exam room the second time I was there. I had to ask to speak with him and was sent back into the waiting room. He spoke down to me and made me feel so incredibly bad. His "bedside manner" was the worst I have ever encountered! I am a fellow Medical Professional and I know how to treat my patients with respect, kindness and with a caring heart. None of which I felt Marc Behar showed me during both my visits. He is egotistical and simply is Not nice. I don't care how many procedures he has done! I would not allow that man to treat me in a hospital ever. Patients don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. Needless to say I went to another MD at a different practice and he was the most warm, friendly, kind, caring MD I could have asked for. My experience at Fempro was unacceptable and Obviously I will never go back. I also had a bad experience with one of his PAs in the past who misdiagnosed me. I've been trying to get a hold of this office since last week. I've called about 20 times waiting on hold each time for more than 10 mins at least only for them to decline my call. I literally just need to refill a prescription bc they don't do so automatically by pharmacy request, it makes everything so difficult! Trying to communicate with this office is impossible. I was told to use the patient portal but never given access. When I requested access I was told that no one on the staff knows how to use it and not to bother. I have called and left messages, sat for extremely long wait times on the phone, and used the text message feature only to receive a chatbot return promising a call back when the staff was free. No one returns the calls. I have CHANGED MY CARE to another provider and have been TRYING FOR TWO MONTHS TO GET MY RECORDS FORWARDED. I have filled out and delivered the record release form twice. My new doctor's office has followed up and been promised that the records would be sent. NO ONE AT FEMMPRO HAS FOLLOWED THROUGH. I won't go into the other reasons whyI have chosen to change my care. Please, do yourself a favor and don't put yourself in a position of ever needing anything from this office. I like Dr. Torre; she seems like a very good doctor. But you can't get through to the office by phone, or text, or by messaging through the app. I had to *drive* to the office twice to get a script that I needed for a biopsy and cyst aspiration. Twice, because the woman at the front desk did it incorrectly the first time. I only realized it when I went for the biopsy yesterday. The ladies there couldn't believe that FemmPro weren't answering the phones and they never did get the script. I have to go back for the biopsy next week as a result. I'm going to make a complaint to the state disciplinary board. I have never experienced anything like this, with any doctor's office I've ever dealt with in 30 years. read more

My first visit was unpleasant. Started with a wait- my appointment was at 10 (granted, I arrived a few minutes late) but wasn't called in until 10:50 after asking the front desk what was up. I was immediately called in, which felt like I had been forgotten about. --note: the receptionists were very kind and professional though! As with the nurse who brought me into the room and set up for the Doctor. I came for birth control questions and a first annual checkup (21 yrs). I didn't feel as comfortable with my new Dr as other reviews stated. I wasn't walked through much for a first-timer (leaving me embarrassed) & when I talked about my personal birth control history I was shut down bluntly and told my past provider was wrong. It set a tone for me to be more closed off than I would've liked to be about my history. I was told I would get a call back the day of my appointment and it has now been 6 days. I've called 3 times. Honestly I really didn't enjoy anything about my visit to this office. The receptionist was really short, the question intake was more focused on entering things into the computer, and I saw the doctor for less than 5 mins. I felt like a number on a roster, not a patient that needed some care. I know some people like it that way, but I want to feel taken care of, especially with someone caring for my lady bits. They also didn't call my prescription into the pharmacy so I'll have to wait for it. This feels ick to post, but I left there feeling ick, and I don't want that for anyone else. read more

I have been a client of Dr Torre for so long and never experienced the poor service as I have for this visit. She's great but the management of the front desk needs to work on it immediately or people will be living the practice. No one ever answers the phone to set up an appointment. I had to stop by the office to set up my appointment for Feb 16 and when I called yesterday to confirm they told me I had the appointment scheduled for March 13th. While waiting for the doctor the 2 ladies at the front desk have lots of time to talk personal and ignore phone calls. They keep saying they receive high volume of calls but that's because they don't answer the phone the first time. If they did they wouldn't have so many repeated calls. It doesn't take much to figure out the lack of service of the front desk. When I used to call Dr Torre in the past the phone got picked up immediately and service was there as needed. We need to stop blaming that this is due to short staff because of Covid. We all run a business and have been proactive on finding resolutions. There are many people out there that would probably want this job and not the once sitting there. No one ever returns a call to the pharmacy for prescription refills. It's really frustrating that we get treated this way. We are already leaving during tough times where people have lost loved ones and yet to be treated like this is despicable. If this service continues I would have no choice but find another practice. Hope these reviews are being read and that the person running the firm is able to get this problem solved. read more

I wish I could give the reviews I have read, however, if I could give zero stars I would!!! I saw Dr Torre in June. I was sent for a mammo, sono and bone density. It was recommended by 7th street I have another breast sono - that was the last interaction I had with Dt Torre! I went for the 2nd sono And was advised by dr there I would need a breast biopsy. I immediately called Dr Torre and left a detailed msg - no return call! I called later that day again - no return call! I called that Monday as my original calls were on Friday and again left a detailed message. Note - I have other medical issues yet again no return call! None of my other drs heard from her and I left her in 3 msgs with their names and numbers And why they needed contacting. Needless to say I scheduled my biopsy on own, even Nrad said they had to request several times a script from her! They asked my to try calling and I advised them she has never even told me I needed a biopsy to which they were shocked! Since then I had to go to a two day treatment process at a cancer center prior to having biopsy and now it is over a week since the treatments and biopsy and still have not received one phone call! I scheduled an appointment for my first visit with them and the wait was an hour long. The visit itself was fine and thorough. Doctor had good bedside manners. Fast forward 1 month, I received a bill for the visit which should have been covered under preventive care. I called them to get it corrected and was told I needed to take it up with insurance. Insurance said the office needs to call regarding their codes so after all the back and forth with me as the middle person I thought things were taken care of. Now 3 months later I received a bill from collections. I called the doctor's office to see what's going on. Again I was told I needed to call the insurance company. We got it figured out finally after all this time but basically these people are getting paid to tell the patients to do their jobs for them. They do not take responsibility and work like robots without accountability, introspection, or thoughts on the tasks. I'm sure she was relieved that I fixed my own issues for them.
