Today is my second time visiting this office. The first time my daughter was under 3 and i was able to stay with her. The staff is very nice and gave me tour of the facility and notified me that after 3, the children go alone. Today she got a cleaning and xrays. She was all smiles. Very different experience from when i went to the dentist. They get ipads and stickers. We had to come back for a filling. The dentist and staff were nice and explained the process to me. read more

LOVED this office! They assist with payment plans and the service provided is AMAZING! Don't let the scary reviews push you away from a visit here cause you'll be disappointed you did. I took 3 of my kid's here and my eldest let me know that the dental hygienist was talking in a rude condescending manner when giving my 4 year old directions. (This was her first time) and my 8 year old said the woman was yelling at her. If you don't have any patience then you should not be working in a field with children! They also don't let you go back in the room with your kids! I guess this is so they can treat them anyway they like! Luckily my oldest was there to let us know what was truly going on back there! My son still describes his visit to Carr Dentistry as being horrible and traumatic. It's been over five years since he was there. I don't recommend it based on our experience. Nice facility but the interactions weren't good. Part of their paperwork included signing for restraints. They wouldn't allow me to go back with him and when he came out he did not act like himself at all. read more

Everyone was wonderful. All the new safety procedures have been implemented very well and other than sitting in my car opposed to the waiting room there was no difference in care of service. Dr. Carr is amazing and truly cares about her patients. She spoke with me at length about some concerns with my oldest son and I truly appreciate all her insight and suggestions. You don't find many dentists willing to spend that much time with their patients to make sure they understand what needs to be done to have healthy orthodontics in the future. New patient visit went very well for our 9-yr old. He is quite shy so when he told us he was "fine" in the cleaning bay we were relieved! He said everyone was very nice in the back. The staff from our tour person, Danielle to Carmen who checked us out were awesome. The check-in ladies upfront were super friendly and helpful. Dr. Carr was amazing as well. The only reason they didn't get 5/5 stars is because they don't allow parents in the back area. read more

Extremely disappointed that I made the decision to take my son from our family dentist to Carr Dentistry. I scheduled an appointment and was asked to provide all of the usual information verbally. Then I was told to enter it all myself on their website. Why waste my time and ask for it only to make me enter it myself again? Then I show up and learn: 1. They didn't have my information from the website and had to re-enter. 2. I would be charged a fee for their staff to change their masks and gloves due to COVID. (Other medical offices I have been to are not charging patients for their equipment. I don't believe patients should incur the cost of the office maintaining standards. They used masks and gloves pre-COVID and didn't charge us when they changed them before, why now?) 3. I would have to wait in the car for my son and couldn't go in for his visit. All should have been shared when the appointment was scheduled so that I could have made an informed decision on whether or not I wanted to go to this office. Surprising me when I get there spoke volumes about their lack of professionalism and customer service. Since I took the time to go, I just went through with it. Lesson learned. Afterwards, I called to ask for records to be sent to another pediatric dentist, I was advised it would be a $25 fee. I questioned it and explained how disappointing the entire experience has been and would be sure to write a review to let others know what they should expect. The woman put me on hold and when she came back told me it's only a fee for sending records out of state and I wouldn't have to pay. The online form she had me fill out did not specify it was a charge for records being sent out of state. Something seems wrong here. So basically if I hadn't questioned it and accepted the additional charge to send records to another office I would be charged an additional fee? Unbelievable. My family dentist is amazing. I felt like his equipment was too big for my son and hoped a pediatric dentist would be a better experience. In this case, I was wrong. Will be seeing another office that's a little further away. I've been there and none of the mishaps with this office are standard protocol in that office. I was sure to ask. Hope this helps someone else. It may be a good fit for some families. My daughter had to have quite a bit of dental work done and on only her 2nd visit to Dr Carr. I appreciate that even though I know she's very busy, Dr Carr took the time to educate me on my daughter's dental plan, calmed me about the procedure, and cared for my daughter in a very compassionate manner. They keep coffee, TV, and magazines in the waiting room to keep the parents busy. In the back, they have TVs in the ceiling for the kids to watch a movie of their choice while being worked on and IPads for them to play with. read more

Well it's hard to rate any place that takes your teeth out and charges for it (lol jk) but since dental work is a necessity usually I think everyone should know where to go to get it done. Especially when it involves your children. This place was extremely well organized and were great with my daughter for the two major appointments we had there. I imagined this process being a disaster and thanks to this place it went very smooth, quick, and as painless as could be (no pun intended). My daughter definitely loved how you get to play with some fancy iPad Pros while waiting to be brought back or prepped for the procedure. When they get to their room they have a tv mounted to the ceiling playing a kids movie to take their mind off of what's going on. As a parent I appreciated their smooth operation, the in and out flow, the constant update of information and status. They handled everything like a well oiled machine which made the whole deal go as smooth as possible. I even thought it was cool how they snuck me back to the room to secretly see my daughter during the procedure. They cleverly talked between the doctor and nurse about what was going on but the real message was being delivered to me! They said they did that if the patient was behaving well and they don't want mommy/daddy coming in and making the kid all anxious or knock them off the course. The overall building was very clean and modern and well set up. The staff from top to bottom was very friendly, understanding, and informative. Have been using Carr Pediatric Dentistry for the past 7 years but am sad on how they treated us when we requested a reschedule of appointment due to insurance. I ma in between jobs and the insurance is yet to be setup but the office charge me $50 for cancellation. Who does it in todays world? Dr. Carr is an amazing pediatric dentist. She is professional, courteous, sweet, and quick (on top of being thorough). My kids have been going to her since they were 12 months old. The office staff was AMAZING. This was our son's first dental appointment (he's 3) and I think we were more nervous than he was. The staff took all 3 of us back, immediately got him interested in an I-Pad and we were able to walk away with him being perfectly content in their care. After he was settled in the chair getting his teeth cleaned, the staff brought us back to peek in on how he was doing. She also snapped a couple of photos on my phone for us. At the end, the dentist herself came out and talked to us about how he did and answered all of our questions and then some. I've been taking my son for his regular cleaning for several years, and the service is always excellent! This appointment was a particular one, because is was an emergency. My son felt of his skateboard and landed on his two front teeth, and of course, it happened after office hours. I called to the emergency number that the answering machine of the office provides and left a message. Dr Carr called me back and guide me through what should I do, I send her pictures of my son teeth so she can determine how serious it was. In my case, he could wait untill next day, so she got me in the office next day at 7:45 am. Great service, as always! read more

We have been going to Dr.Carr for 9 years. Went today with my 3 kids (9, 3, 1). My 3 yr old's last visit was when he was 1. We were very scared about him going by himself. To our surprise he did super well, he was super happy and he could stop talking about his amazing experience at the dentist. He got some Spider-Man stickers and a water bottle and to him was like winning the lottery. My oldest son and my daughter did great as well. Love the attention and friendliness of every single person that works there. In the craziness that we are living with Covid, we feel they were extremely organized and careful. Do not waste your time here. Dr. Carr spoke about an hour to my husband in a conference, made him tour the facility, then said "I understand your concerns about being in the back with your son, but we have a strict no parents allowed policy for those over 3 years old". There is no way an adult will be allowed with my child ALONE. Period. You hear about crazy stories all the time. My child is going to be safe, and in my care, at all times, because he is a minor, and my responsibility. read more

Everybody in this office is great!! Dr. Carr is super personable and GREAT with my girls (age 4 and 5). My 5-year-old freaks out about the fluoride treatment and they were more than sweet and patient with her (while mommy's head almost rolled off from my extreme eye-roll at the drama). Always be leery of any dentist that does not allow you in the room with your children. 400.00 for a single one sided filing after insurance is insane, not every kid needs restrained, not every kids needs nitrous. 90.00 for nitrous and 125.00 for behavior modification (which is literally a papus board/blanket) it's just a bit ridiculous. Appointment was in late November, they found a "shadow" on my 3 year olds xray that could possibly need a filling, one sided in between his teeth. Made it sound necessary and urgent, then told me the soonest they could see him to fix this urgent issue was 2 week of March! Needless to say we got a 2nd opinion from a general dentist and a clean bill of health. No filling needed and I was able to sit next to him. No drama, no tears, no restraints needed. read more

This was my first visit to the office. I have taken my kids to 2 other pediatric dentist in the area. I often left the dentist feeling like all my questions had not been answered or that the questions I asked were unimportant or silly. This was not the case at Dr. Carr's office. The dentist answered all of my questions completely and professionally. My kids were well taken care of and happy when their appointments were complete. The office staff was amazing. So I was super scared going to a dentist that did not allow parents in the treatment rooms. Turned out to be a great thing...Staff took my screaming child and held him for me. Then cam back to report that he was fine and let me peek in the room to see that he was great. He would NOT have cooperated if I was back there. The kids get to play with tablets while they wait and really feel like going to the dentist is a treat. Everyone here is great. This visit is our third time there and we've been through two cleanings and one filling since we've moved to FL. They handle children remarkably well and I like the fact that they don't allow parents in the back with the kids. My son went to a pediatric dentist since he was one that allowed parents to sit in the back with their children and it is a major distraction having to listen to them "bargain" with their kids to behave. As far as the expense, well, dental work can be expensive. No one will argue that. But we have two options as parents: invest the time into prevention or invest the money (and pain) later. Dr. Carr and her staff are caring, knowledgeable, and patient. My son is not scared to go to the dentist and I thank them for that! read more

We just moved in the area and unfortunately, we have to leave our old pediatric dentist, Dr. Petinatto, that we love for 3 years. My son has been seeing him since he was 2 so we are really sad to part with him. When we moved in the Riverview area, Dr. Carr is the closest pediatric dentist we could find. I already knew that parents are not allowed inside while Dr. Carr is working with the kids' teeth so I already gave my child a heads up. He was anxious about that since from our past dentist, parents are always welcomed to be with their kids no matter what age you are. Our appointment was at 10am. Got there and signed in. Few weeks before that, I was asked by one of the staff to print the medical forms online so I could fill it out. That sure did saved some time when I got at the dentist office. Before seeing Dr. Carr, one of the staff showed us around and where Dr. Carr will be working with the kids. After that, she informed me that my son needs an xray and told me it would cost $20. I asked if it's possible to have our old pediatric dentist office send that information to them since it was just 6 months ago that we last saw him. She told me that Dr. Carr wants a recent one (mind you, my son is still 5), and that xray would cost us $20. It was so mind boggling to me because for the past 3 years that we've been seeing our old dentist, we've never paid any money for a regular cleaning. So I told her that I will not pay $20 for the xray but instead will call our old dentist for that record. She told me to wait outside again and she will talk to Dr. Carr. She came back and told me Dr. Carr wants a specific xray today and that is $15. I was just amused and felt bad for my son since we are just prolonging this whole supposedly easy regular cleaning. So I gave up and paid $15. Come 11:20 and they are finally done with the cleaning and I was called inside to speak with Dr. Carr. She said my son's teeth looked great. The only "issue" we have is the small cavity between his two front teeth. She then told me she knew our old pediatric dentist, Dr. Petinatto. What really struck me was she first asked what Dr. Petinatto thinks and recommended about my son's teeth, and I told her he said to just keep and eye on it and to continue to keep flossing especially in that area- nothing to be alarmed since they are baby teeth and they will just fall off. She then agreed and said worse thing that could happen is my son will get abscess between those teeth and that would mean infection. Great! That sure made me feel a little worried. So to wrap up this review, I didn't feel right about Dr. Carr. They being very pushy with the xray thing didn't give me a great impression. I cannot imagine how much they bill for other services. Also, I just didn't get that warm feeling from Dr. Carr. She could be a perfect pediatric dentist for other family but not for us. We will definitely try Dr. Bryan Morgan. It's not the closest one but just by reading his reviews, he will be a great fit for our little man. read more

They passed us by oblivious when I was advised to sign in when arrived. They dont even look or keep track. They called my wife asking where we were when they only had to look in front of their desk. Appointment was scheduled for sealants and when we were called to the back, they had the appointment scheduled for flouride. The visit took almost 2 hours because of a clerical mistake. The staff is friendly though, always have been nice, my son will not be going anymore because of his age, this was the 1st negative experience I had and they did their best to resolve it. Dr. Carr is fantastic! My toddlers absolutely adore her and she has the patience of a saint when dealing with my children who can be a bit of a handful. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to make appointments with her office. She is booked out over six months in advance and is only open Tues-Thurs. I will NEVER come here with my child again! Wow! What a horrible experience I have had at Carr dentistry. I was called 2 hours before my appointment time to come in early. When I arrived early, I was told that they attempted to call me four times and that they no longer accepted my insurance. I called them two weeks prior to my appointment to make sure everything was updated and correct which they informed me everything was updated. What a humiliating and frustrating experience. Never again! That office manager was rude and disrespectful in room full of children and parents. read more

I took my 3 year old son there for his first dental appointment. This office was recommended by his pediatrician. The office was clean and my son loved that there was video games, however, these are the only pros I can give. Once the exam was complete, Dr. Carr said that my son had a bad cavity in one tooth and that he would need a silver cap. I hated the sound of silver in his mouth this day and age and him so young, so I asked her if there was any other kind of treatment that I could even pay more for to make it tooth colored, such as fillings or reg crowns. Her answer was, "Not that I will do, however, I am sure there are other dentists that will do a 3 surface filling but I will not" I asked why she wouldn't and she said she doesn't like to take the risk. I asked her if she could recommend a dentist that would and she told me she didn't know of any that takes insurance so I would need to call around. After that appointment I began to notice silver caps in other kids mouths (at the daycare or church) and every time AND I MEAN EVERY TIME I would ask the parent what dentist they used, they all said Dr. Carr. Come to find out, Dr. Carr's "go to" treatment for molars that have decay is a silver cap over the tooth. I then spoke with parent at my son's school that said she had similar experience with a Dr. Carr recommending a root canal and silver cap but they got a second opinion from this pediatric dentist who confirmed that their kid only needed a minor filling. Needless to say, I took the number of the dentist they used and made an appointment for my son there. And guess what.... yup you guessed it... all my son needed was a partial root canal with a two surface filing and YES, tooth colored fillings!!!! NO SILVER CAPS!!! As a matter of fact, when I discussed the "silver cap" with this dentist, he said silver caps are the easy and cheap way to do it and that this is what they would do in Medicaid clinics he worked in right out of college because they knew they would never see these kids again. He said, most experienced dentists will never use a silver cap unless there was absolutely nothing left to repair on the tooth. Dr. Carr is either inexperienced, cheep or doesn't know what she is doing! Either way, I highly recommend that you DO NOT USE HER IF YOUR CHILD HAS ANY DENTAL ISSUES!!! And if you already did.... please get a second opinion before you let her do work in your child's mouth! I am so glad I used my gut on not wanting silver!!!! read more

Dr. Carr is an amazing dentist but her office staff, specifically her office manager, Patty, is rude and extremely unprofessional. Very confrontational when I called to inquire about simple billing matter. She told me whatever and hung up on me. Would not give me any information and said that no one was available (meaning Dr. Carr) and she only answered to Dr. Carr add she was the office manager. (How extremely convenient) I would travel to another county if this office was the only pediatric dentist before I would bring my children back here. Office policy and procedure are very, very misleading. If you are unfamiliar with specific questions to ask regarding your benefits and are willing to be stuck with a bill that is different than was verbally communicated to you, then office this is the office for you. You are made to sign a form, even for a routine cleaning, that states it is an estimate, however, the vebal assurance that "this is routine, so I'm sure it'll be fine" when you're standing in front of them is not the case. If you refuse to sign their form, you will not be seen but only when you've waited weeks for the appointment, taken your kids out of school, and are standing in the office. So essentially, write us a blank check or we won't see you. I took the initiative to call to inquire about my charges and couldn't get any questions out bc Patty kept cutting me of and ended by saying "whatever" and hung up on me. I called back only to hear her telling the receptionist to "and tell her, and tell her..." Completely, completely unprofessional. I would be utterly embarrassed by having someone like this in my establishment. I will pay the charges that I called to inquire about, collect ALL of my children's records and will never recommend nor take my children to this office again. What a scam. Be warned read more

I took my 9 year old and 4 year old there. The office was very crowded and the wait was long. Dr. Carr was kind of abrupt and not very accommodating. She did not explain options for a broken tooth, except wait for it to fall out. She was quite impatient with my 9 year old who was extremely scared and nervous. I addressed it with her and she suggested we go to another dentist. That was the best advice she had given ever! read more
