I found my wedding dress here for years ago and every time I look back at pictures, I am reminded of this wonderful place and the staff that helped me find the perfect dress. They were extremely helpful in finding different styles that would look great on me and catering to the requests that I wanted. They helped match my veil and even help my mom find her dress for the wedding. I was so impressed by the staff here! When I decided on my dress I also popped a bottle of champagne for me and my guest to have! We had eight people which is a large crowd for dress shopping and they were extremely accommodating and making sure everybody had a place to sit while I tried on dresses! It was not the first dress shop that I visited but I wish it would've been the only place I went to. They were the most friendly staff that Experienced during dress shopping. They have a great selection of dresses, not only wedding dresses but also bridesmaids dresses, mother of the bride dresses, and other formal dresses if you ever have any needs. Their prices are also very comparable and did not seem out rages. They made sure that the dresses they were showing me were in my price range, they never once made me feel bad about my budget or tried to show me dresses out of my budget. Extremely please with Natalie M and the customer service that I received here.

I'm new to this Yelp deal, so this review comes 5 years late... but I wanted to give my review for Natalie M because it's one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. I got married back in 2005, so I don't have a current experience, but it's an experience nonetheless. At the end of 2004 my friend and I attended a bridal show in OP. We passed dress vendor after dress vendor and everyone of them just stood there like soul-less drones. Not one welcomed us over to their table or even looked at us. Then we came up to Natalie M's table. (She was just beginning the transition from Fashions at Large back then.) Natalie herself greeted us right as we were walking by and was incredibly friendly and personable. We got to talking and it wasn't long before I was on her books for a fitting appointment. I already loved her. My best friend came with me for the appointment as well and when we got there we were greeted and taken back promptly and offered refreshments. The staff was so helpful and attentive, and Natalie was there also assisting. One consultant was working with me, while another was working with my friend, who is plus size. Every time I had a dress on she had a dress on as well and we went thru the motions of deciding how the dresses looked together and how the bridesmaid dress would look on the other 5, yes 5, attendants, all of whom ranged from size 2-14. I finally found "the one" and my girlfriend came out with "the one" for the girls as well. She found the perfect dress for her, and it was perfect for anyone in my party, no matter their size. Both dresses were Alfred Angelo. Natalie and her staff got us set up and we got all 7 dresses ordered, two of which were going to be out of town shipments. They made it a breeze, and we were done! All the orders came back in a timely fashion and my girls took care of their own alterations. My gown fit perfectly and only needed a bustle which set me back all of $15. Natalie referred me to her seamstress for that. I also purchased a very simple, one layer veil. To this day my experience with Natalie M and her staff is one that sticks out so positively. I'm a former model and I've done work for several bridal boutiques in the KC area. But have never, and will never recommended anyone other than Natalie M for wedding dress shopping. They were super great folks and made me feel like I was a celebrity. When my husband and I renew our vows someday, I'm going back to Natalie M!

NEVER use this store for your special dress. My sister came from four hours out of town to find a dress. Myra talked her in to ordering a smaller size than she thought she needed. Dress came in and didn't fit. Sent her to an alterations person. $50. later still didn't fit. Myra promised to make it work and would call after talking to "her rep" about the dress. NEVER heard back from her. $250.00 down the drain and my sister still doesn't have a MOB dress. She has shed many tears, sad and frustrated over this. TOO BAD Myra does not stand behind her own advice and products. read more

Buyer beware!!! If you have a problem you'll wish you went elsewhere. I purchased a mother of the groom dress from them. It was defective and cheap. Ripped apart during the wedding. They WILL NOT stand behind their products or offer fair compensation. She wanted me to give them back the dress I spent almost $450 on to get $129 in store credit. The wedding is over. I can't use store credit. Worst customer service I've seen from a store....ever! She's rude, uncaring and said 'have your legal counsel call me' then hung up on me! read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. Back in 2015, I found this dress that I absolutely had to have for my wedding, and, according to the designer site, I could purchase the dress through Natalie M. After driving an hour and 40 minutes, I got to the store and put in my order. Our wedding date was at the end of April 2016, and I was told the dress would come in March. The beginning of April came around, and I didn't have the dress so I called. Turns out the dress was delayed and would come at the end of May instead, but I was never informed. We had to postpone the wedding. My veil came in first, and was NOT what I ordered. Thankfully they were able to replace it within 2 weeks. The dress came in at the end of June, and I only had 2 weeks to get it altered before the new wedding date in July. I had ordered extra fabric, and it never came in. I had to drive back to the store because they wouldn't help me over the phone. They gave me scraps of lace that didn't match my dress, and an off-white shawl and told me to just use that for my alterations. My dress was snow white, so that didn't work. I was refused a refund for the extra fabric, which was a couple hundred dollars. As I was leaving, I was asked to recommend their store to my friends. After my wedding, I received a call from the store asking me to send wedding photos for their "satisfied bride" wall. I really lost my patience then. read more

This was the worst bridal experience ever!!! There was one wedding dress that I loved and I just wanted to try it on to see how it fit, and they would not allow me to do so. They told me I was too big for the dress (im a size 10) and they were very rude to my family and I. I will never go back there again and I encourage other people to NEVER give them your business. read more

BEWARE DO NOT SHOP HERE IF YOU ARE A BRIDE!!! ONE STAR IS TOO MUCH FOR THIS PLACE! NO STAR IS MORE APPROPRIATE! Finding your wedding dress is suppose to be one of the most fun experiences about being a bride. Well so far it had been the worst and most stressful processes of planning my wedding! I came to Natalie M for an Alfred Angelo trunk show, but all the dresses were so ugly! Luckily I had a list of other Alfred Angelo dresses I liked (by the way if you want to try on anything here you have to have a list because Rosie does not know her merchandise and that is the only way you will be able to try anything on! There website claims to have several designers, but they don't have any stock on it!) I tried on about 5 dresses and then at the 6th dress I fell in love with the front. Upon looking at the back I was a little unsure and asked the sales woman (who was not a normal bridal consultant) about doing alterations to let out the "pull-ups" in the dress, her as well as a second sales woman said they had this wonderful woman, Rosa, they refer to and she could do anything. I thought I loved the dress and bought it. They had to order a veil so I did not take the dress with me that day, which happened to be a blessing. A few weeks later the more I looked at the dress and showed my fiance pictures of it, I started to panic about the back of the dress. I went back to the store with a better idea of how I wanted it to look and they told me for a 2nd time that it could be done. I continued to worry not having an alterations person look at it so I made two more trips there with women I know who are knowledge able about fabric and alterations. They both told me that the alteration that I was asking for could not be done without completely ruining the dress. Myra only offered me $300 for a $800 dress, to pay for the cost of replacing the dress off the rack, to exchange it. This was even though she had other stock on the dress, it has never left her store so she will be greedy and sell it for full price and make double her money on this dress when she only paid $399 for it, and on top of that my alterations that I was told before I purchased the dress could be done can not be done! This is unacceptable customer service and misleading customers just to make sales!! Myra has been rude and will not be more reasonable with us or listen to us when we try to reason with her. Rosie was the second sales person I worked with and she was awful! She rushed me and I only got to try on 4 other dresses to try to find a replacement dress. When I asked if she had something that was more of a combination of what I liked about two dresses she said no, I have another appointment in 15 minutes so we need to finish. I went back the next day to talk to Myra about getting a better deal and all she did was yell at us and say I had 48 hrs to decide on a second dress or keep the first. So I left stressed out, pissed off, frustrated, and have cried over this several times! I am refusing any merchandise from her and am disputing the charge on the credit card. She does not deserve my business nor anyone else's! I have 11 more dresses I would have purchased at that store plus sent the other 4 girls I know getting married there, but greed over one dress that was misrepresented in the first place is more important than being a good business owner and creating customer value and earning repeat business or referrals. PLEASE I BEG YOU DO NOT GO HERE!! IT WILL SAVE YOU HEARTACHE, STRESS, AND PREVENT A BAD BUSINESS OWNER FROM BEING REWARDED FOR PISS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! THEY ARE RUDE OLD LADIES WHO I HOPE WILL GO OUT OF BUSINESS TO SAVE ANYONE ELSE THIS PAIN! read more

Very poor experience here. Made an appointment and was treated as if I was a walk in customer. Waited about 30 mins or more after appointment time to even be acknowledged and I arrived with my 2 guests 15 mins early. The selection for wedding dresses was very outdated and not a very big selection. They have the sample and that is it and they do no alterations there. There was a large bridal party (around 20 people) in the group before me and I had 2. The consultant made me feel extremely rushed and my guest didn't even have chairs to sit in to wait for me to show them the dresses. I never even got to stand on the pedestal in front of the mirror to look at the dresses I tried on because there was only one and was told if I wanted to use it I would have to wait or I could walk up in front of the other bridal party and ask to use it, which would have been very awkward seeing how my party was not sitting there. While I was trying on dresses, she took the dresses out that I had already tried on and put them back on the racks, in the middle of my appointment, and didn't even ask if I wanted to try them on again or if I was interested. The last dress I wanted to try on was a short cocktail dress for my rehearsal. Honestly, even though the experience was bad I probably would've taken it home if it weren't for the consultant. I asked if they had a smaller size in it (it was a size 6 or 8 and I wear a size 0 or 2) and she remarked that it wouldn't fit me so I asked what size it was and she said 2 so I told her that's what size I wore and she said "oh no sweet girl, it won't fit" and I was pretty shocked so I said ok then I'll try on the larger one. She then leaves the room to put the last dress away that I had tried on and I had to ask my mom to come in the fitting room to zip and lace the back. When I exited the room to show my friend the dress I notice the consultant is standing with another consultant with a prom dress appointment and commenting how cute she looked in her dress. I had my mom unzip the dress and I took it off and as I exited the consultant was standing out side and said "so you're taking this one home with you today right?" I replied no and we walked out of the store. I did not feel special in any way and felt as though I was in the way during my whole appointment and very unwanted and rushed. I will never go back or recommend this place. read more

The only positive thing about this place is that they had many gorgeous wedding and bridesmaid gowns, and unfortunately I ended up buying both here. My dress came in late, and was pricey compared to other shops' prices. The biggest issue was with my bridesmaid dresses. My girls went for their fitting, and the staff didn't even take measurements! They had each of the 6 girls try on six different gowns from different designers and different fits and just find out what size looked best and order based on that size. My girls ended up spending a lot of money on alterations because they didn't bother to size them properly at all. Not to mention, we ordered their dresses five months before the wedding and they came in about 3 weeks before the wedding, much later than promised. One of my girls dresses came with the whole back side snagged and a hole in the front (these were Alfred Angelo and $170....should've been much better quality than that). Myra assured us that each dress is hand inspected and blah blah blah but none are taken out of the bags to be looked over. The problem with her theory is that the bags are clear plastic and the defect was easily visible through it. They "expedited" her a new gown which arrived with a brown stain at the bust. We pointed it out to Myra (at this point this was the 3rd gown on my same bridesmaid and a week before the wedding) who claims she couldn't even see it (looked like a coffee stain) and she said that she could give my bridesmaid $5 to go get the stain removed somewhere. At this point we just kept it because at their rate, she would've had nothing to Wear for the wedding if we let them try to fix yet another mistake. Never in my life have I seen such rude and unprofessional customer service. We had horrible experiences with both Myra and Lisa. I would avoid this store at all costs, they will make such a special occasion the most stressful thing you've ever tried to plan. read more

My daughter (the bride) and I took my granddaughter to Natalie M to look for a flower girl dress. We agreed on one and the staff measured her and ordered her a dress in a size that they said was too big (just to be sure). The wedding was four months away. They said that the dress could be altered if it was too big, making us believe that the alterations would be handled through the store. When they called to tell me the dress was in, they told me that they would have to give me the alteration lady's number and I had to contact her myself. We live 100 miles from the store. This fact was not mentioned when we picked out the dress and paid for it. We will find someone to do the alterations closer to our home and we will never recommend this store to anyone or go back there ourselves. My daughter looked at dresses there, but chose a store in Springfield, Missouri, which is closer to her home. I am so thankful that she did not purchase her dress from Natalie M. read more

I get that it would be tough to do that on the spot but I would gladly custom order something like that to get it right. Wasn't a ton of help inside this space on a weekday and didn't feel welcoming or memorable enough to ever pull me back in when gift shopping.

I have been to Natalie M's several times before and this time they really provided me with great customer service. I was really feeling stressed because I hadn't purchased my bathing suit for an upcoming pageant. When I arrived, I explained that I needed to get it before a certain time and that I wanted it to be custom made. I was given some samples to try on and swatches to choose the fabric. The staff person measured me and I also requested some rhinestones. When I left I had a picture in my mind of how the bathing suit would look. They said that it was going to be 8 weeks. In about 5 weeks they called to update me and in 7 weeks my bathing suit was in. When I first saw it I couldn't believe how well it was made and the color and fabric was a showstopper! When I tried it on they fit was perfect! I was so happy with the product and the prompt service. I will definitely go to Natalie M's again for my next custom made bathing suit. I recently had the pleasure and privilege of being in Natalie M's bridal boutique to shop for my mother of the bride's gown for my oldest daughter's upcoming wedding. From the moment you walk in to the shop you are greeted by the professional and personal staff who make you feel like a princess/queen; paying special attention to your personal needs and/or concerns, with excellent vision and suggestions to remedy any issues you may feel you have. Owner Myra Nearenberg has carried on her family's legacy and tradition of outstanding service, quality, and attention to detail. Even the name of the shop pays special homage to her family... "Natalie", the name of her beloved mother, and "M" for her cherished father Martin. Her assistant, Lisa Carson, equally knowledgeable about the wonderful dresses and accessories, is a valuable asset to the shop. The service, affordability, and attention to detail are bar none. I had a very quick turnaround from engagement to wedding day, and Lisa at Natalie M. helped me find the perfect wardrobe in record time! My bridal appointment was highly personalized, with a dedicated stylist pulling options that fit my budget and vision until I found the perfect gown. For bridesmaids and my flower girls, I picked a color and fabric and they got to choose their own style to order- made to measure!- for the big day. They also do suit, tuxedo, and shoe rentals, so my groom and groomsmen were measured and fitted in store. Everyone had plenty of time for alterations and re-orders as needed. Doing everything all in one place made things so easy and the staff was so sweet and attentive through the entire process. Lisa at Natalie M is a joy to work with!! I have gotten numerous dresses from there over the years, but the service and care is what keeps me coming back. Lisa is so great at building relationships and truly getting to know the girl and what would look great on her. I recently had a fun fashion emergency and one message to Lisa and she was on it looking for a dress for me! She found the perfect dress and was very quick to respond. Lisa had also sponsored many dresses for me to emcee for Princess of America and is always generous. Natalie M has been my go to gown and pageant interview attire store for the past decade. I love working with the owner Myra and consultant Lisa. I can walk in, tell them what I am looking for and they know exactly what will look best. I appreciate them being aware of my budget and what my personal style is. They know their inventory and also what alteration adjustments could be made to customize a gown to be perfect for me. I appreciate the shop local feel of the store and the fashion forward inventory. I could not be happier with the experience, this weekend. My niece is competing in Miss Missouri. My mom & I took her dress shopping this weekend, and had an appointment with Lisa. AWESOME experience. We have been to several dress shops, and the service & quality of the dresses is not even comparable. Lisa is very knowledgeable about pageants, and LISTENS to what you want, while providing constructive & valuable insight & suggestions. My experience at Natalie M. was amazing. After wedding dress shopping a few times before and being disappointed with the results I was nervous about giving it another go. I am a curvy girl and have had a hard time finding stores that are plus size friendly. I went in not sure what to expect and thinking once again that nothing would fit me. Meredith my consultant was phenomenal! She listened to me and didn't pressure me at all at any point during my visit. She also did a great job maoing me feel comfortable. NatalieM is such a wonderful place to feel like an individual with a name and not just a pocket book. I was looking for a gown for my first ever Gala. I'm over 50, recently lost 30 lbs and had no idea what size or style I needed. I knew I didn't have a large budget for something I probably wouldn't wear again.
