I've been dreaming about Knudsen Vineyards ever since my first sip of their Chardonnay. I've visited wineries from Paris to Napa Valley, Sonoma County, Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley, Willamette Valley, & Hood River wineries -- and honestly, the ONLY Chardonnay I truly love is KNUDSEN VINEYARD in Dundee, Oregon! I had just finished an incredibly difficult project at work, & my reward to myself was finally joining their wine club & buying 6 bottles of that unforgettable Chardonnay. But what sent this experience to the moon and back was Brittany, our tasting host. She was informative, lively, genuine, down-to-earth, and made the entire tasting unforgettable. She shared fascinating science facts about wine, & family history and stories that make the Wine Come alive! Brittany even taught us about Willamette & explained how KNUDSEN's VINEYARD plants beautiful purple flowers between the vineyard rows to help restore minerals back into the soil. You can feel the care, intelligence, and passion behind everything they do. This isn't just another vineyard...it's an EXPERIENCE that I'll carry in my Head & Heart as a Memory I'll Cherish Forever!

Great people & great wine! They were amazing with fact we had our kiddo with us too! Would come back

Spectacular wines, warm and inviting service, with stunning views of rolling hills, gardens and even hummingbirds, Knudsen Vineyards took the win for best wines on our recent stay in Dundee. Of the 5 wines in the flight, I loved four, purchased 3, and I'm considering becoming a member. The wines were that good. We came a few days before Memorial Day to beat the crowds, which sounds unusual after 14 months of semi isolation due to Covid, but since wineries require appointments, we wanted to visit the top five on our list. Thanks to my fellow Yelpers who pointed me to Knudsen; let me pay it forward by recommending Knudsen to others, without hesitation. Damian greeted us warmly upon arrival and had our flights already set up in main light filled room by the window overlooking the patio and gorgeous rolling hills. It was a day of repeatEd stretches of sunshine then downpours, so rather than take a chance, he recommended that we sit indoors. The view was so beautiful it was an easy compromise. Let the tasting begin! Not only was each wine described by its origins and tasting notes, we learned a lot about the history of Knudsen, the first commercial wine producer in Dundee Hills, back when they were Knudsen-Erath. Their picturesque vineyards are the image of the Oregon Wine Lovers license plate! Wow! There is even a canvas of this image hanging on the wall. Plus Knudsen license plate frames for the taking. While I'm not giving up my Portland Trailblazer's plate, the wine country design would be my 2nd option. The first wine we tasted was a Chardonnay, something I rarely drink or like, but immediately fell in love with theirs and knew I would buy a bottle. The 2018 Double Gold, with flavors of lemon, apricot, honey and vanilla was silky and smooth. Typically Pinot Noir is too light for my preference but their 2019 Backstor blew me away. Deep and rich, it was my favorite. Recently bottled, it was only available to purchase there. The 2018 Double Gold was also bold with hints of chocolate ganache and spice. Bought a bottle of this, too! We finished the tasting with the 2017 Reserve, another winner, tastes of raspberry and plum. In all, I loved 4 of the 5! Bottles are on the pricier side so becoming a member is definitely worth it. As we were finishing, the outside patio and side room were filled, although socially distanced appropriately. Now that the warmer weather is here, they have music on the outdoor patio some late afternoons. The patio is positioned up high with the best views of the vineyards and makes a lovely setting. I'll definitely be back to enjoy music, fine wine and a phenomenal view! This was my first time here and it easily became one of my favorite wineries in the area. The wine itself is stellar. Then add the warm, friendly and informative service plus gorgeous views of rolling hills of grape vines, it's the perfect place to relax, unwind, and feel like your a million miles away!

Absolutely gorgeous winery. It is so secluded and has beautiful views... and the wine is great too! The service is amazing and everyone is so friendly- they clearly know a lot about wine and love talking about it. This place is especially great if you love Pinot noir!

Gorgeous drive to get here... the view from the patio is fabulous. But a bottle of what you enjoyed the most versus paying for the testing. There are 2 tasting options and we each did different options so we could try it all. There is also some good choices to try abs enjoy a great afternoon

Beautiful view from the top of the hill and friendly service. We bought a couple bottles of the reserve as it was tender to the tongue. We enjoyed the young woman serving us that was attending a local college to become sommelier.

He was exceptionally well-versed and shared a wealth of knowledge about the wine and the estate. Every single wine we tasted was an unforgettable experience in itself. After our tasting, we walked up to the garden on the hill overlooking the vineyards, and the views were simply breathtaking. It was the perfect finale to a wonderful visit. There were no tastings available, but given the weather we had just driven through to get there, and bc my friend is a certified somm with the CMS, we decided simply to create our own tasting experience from the single pour options made available. Other reviewers have also mentioned it, but when we sought input from the staff to make our initial wine selections, our experience of service was underwhelming. It was frankly a little disappointing given the status and caliber of the house. Gratefully we met Ben who was solidly helpful; he appreciative of our Quest to create a meaningful tasting experience for ourselves, even if we had not been able to score an appointment with a venue host. He was very knowledgeable and spoke to with us without condescension, intelligently answering our questions about the vineyards, wine making processes, and house history. With his help we also learned about some excellent options for dining in the area. Ben poured our selection of four wines and we chose to take the glasses outside on the patio as the rain had stopped. We helped another couple with photos they were trying to take, and then were able to film a few tasting clips against the picturesque back drop of the vineyards. We ordered a serving of the gougères, which came out warm and were delicious. I picked up a bottle of the Zeraphine Pinot Noir for the friend who had recommended the winery, and Mac picked up three bottles including the estate chardonnay, to return to Canada with. All in all a solid self-guided tasting and learning experience.

We also wanted a place that offered tastings of white wines since Pinot is not our favorite. We arrived without a reservation. Mind you, this place is HUGE! There are numerous rooms that were completely empty. The main tasting room had probably 5 tables occupied, so it was not crowded. We didn't make a reservation because we went to another winery first, which was a 90 minute tasting, and then had lunch afterwards. Domaine was our second stop, but we didn't want to guess at a time we'd arrive with our driver. The host was kind enough and sat us at a low table that I requested. It took about 10 minutes before anyone came to our table to pour some tastes. While we waited, my sister walked over towards the bar area and overheard two of the wine servers say "it's okay, they're just a walk-in." Really? Maybe we were a walk-in with a thousand dollars to spend! Our pourer was accommodating to our taste for white wine and created a tasting for us. We also ordered a half serving of oysters to pair with our wines. After our first taste, the guy came back and poured us three tastes of three of the same varietal and left the bottles on our table. We waited over 30 minutes for him to come back! In that time, we took it upon ourselves to refill our glasses, and not one person came to see if we were okay or if we were done with our oysters. Finally, after that long wait, we got to taste two more whites. The tasting was $60 each, but if you bought wine totaling $120, they waived the fees. Only because of that, I ordered two bottles. That, along with the oysters got us to the minimum, so our tastings ended up no charge. Good thing! I would have been very vocal if I had paid that much to be completely ignored! All in all, their wines were decent enough, but I'll never go back or order from them again.
