My dermatologist that I saw for almost 20 years retired. Although I hate change I was in desperate need of a new one. I happened to tune into The Breakfast Club and listened to her interview and saw how she helped one of the hosts with his skin. Knowledgable but incredibly rude, stand offish and unorganized. Initially I did not understand the bad reviews because she seemed like she cared but after becoming a consistent patient - unless you're one of her high paying celebrity clients, good luck. Most times I've waited over an hour in the lobby for an appointment that had been scheduled previously or have had my appointment cancelled the day before and had to wait another month before seeing her. Also, I've had emergency issues regarding my skin and have had no way to speak with her directly. Also, while administering filler she overfilled my face, for months she dodged accountability by telling me I wasn't properly caring for it, only to later finally concede and end up dissolving the filler which made it much better. Customer service and organization are huge areas where the business is lacking but she as I stated, she is somewhat knowledgable. I was very intentional about finding an African-American dermatologist as a provider for my almost 3 month old daughter that's experiencing some issues with her skin. I received a phone call today from her "practice manager "that asked me a series of questions about my insurance before telling me that they're not taking new patients. This seems very suspect, and I couldn't figure out why that wasn't the first thing that she told me. It seemed as though she gave me that response based on my insurance (which by the way is employer sponsored, and not Medicare or Medicaid). If they're not taking new patients at this time, that's fine, but that should've been the first thing that I was told instead of being asked questions to screen me before telling me I would be placed on a waitlist and there's no telling when my daughter would be seen. I was scammed out of money by this office, since September I had bought ONE product that no longer worked on my face. I reached out to cancel the order before it had been shipped because it was expensive and caused me to breakout. she had a family emergency which was understandable, so I received no response and the product was shipped anyways weeks later. I returned it within the return guidelines and received a call from Dr. Sandy asking why I returned it. Barely able to get a word in or to say no, she stated she would send a different product, which I did not want, that was cheaper and therefore would refund the difference. She then called me again and asked if I needed acne pads, I said I was running low, she said she would send me an invoice to send me the pads. Then instead of letting me pay via the electronic invoice called me again to pay her via the phone. Heads up: never received the partial refund, instead I received two of the products that she didn't even know would work on my face, and instead of the acne pads I requested she sent me aftershave pads. I was fed up at this point and just sent it all back, unopened, tracked, they received it all back in October and I still never received my refunds. the products I paid for plus the shipping it took to send numerous products back was over $200 loss for me. I called tens and tens of times, filed disputes with my bank, and sezzle with all my proof and of course this business refuses to respond and be decent. they received their product back, kept me on hold for 45 mins until I hung up, ignored my emails and calls. she only cares about the money, forces you to empty out skincare you already paid for so you can buy her products instead of working within your budget. I won't give her 1 star because of how the pandemic has affected small businesses. However, that still doesn't excuse the lack of customer service. Why does she have a phone if no one ever answers? Or unless she screens her calls because I definitely called, several times,, about a month ago and while no one answered the phone, I got a call from the pharmacy she uses for her medications for patients and they asked if I wanted to refill. I didn't call the office for a refill, I called about an appointment and services I had prepaid over a year ago and have yet to finish using. So you don't have time to answer the phone but have time to put in a refill for a prescription that I didn't ask for? Okay. I came to Dr. Sandy from a recommendation and knowing she has worked with celebrities. The staff on the phone was friendly and I was able to get an appt within 2 weeks. The interesting part is that she is only in dc (columbia,md) on select days and the others she is in NY. Office Space My initial impression of the office is "this is fancy!"; it is and feels upscale. The space is very modernized and sleek. I would suggest for her to add her name outside or to the building as its not easy to find looking on the outside. They also check you in by giving you an ipad to answer questions and sign forms. I LOVE this because all them papers on a clip board is for the birds. Plus you get an online portal you can access your info. I didnt have to wait long at all to see her. Im not sure if its because my appt was at 12pm but it took me 30 min to fill out the forms and she saw me 10-15 min after that. I wasnt rushed or anything. Dr Sandy Not your typical doctor that is gonna greet you in a long white coat and croc shoes. I thought she was about to go hang out. lol. It didnt bother me but it was definitely different from other doctors I have met. She is very confident, knowledgeable and you can tell she has treated many clients. She immediately has suggestions and customized plans to get you to your goal. The problem is her treatment recommendations are VERY expensive and all arent covered by insurance. I have acne prone and blemish prone skin so my face is in need of some serious work. For example, I got a chemical pill, sunscreen, exfoliate face wash and some face pads and I paid $350!!! Not covered by insurance folks and I still have two other things she has prescribed plus face wash to get at the store. Ive spent close to $500 and its only day one. All I can say is IT BETTER WORK and be worth it. Im also hoping this doesnt turn into buying only her products unless my skin is BEYOND flawless. She initially started off with doing a chemical peel in the office and had instructions printed for me to follow, offered for me to record her walking me through applying face products and even airdropped the info to me. I was really appreciative of that because it was so many dag on steps. Again IT BETTER WORK. Getting RX She likes using a pharmacy in VA because they have what she always recommends or can get it for her. However its an inconvenience to me as the customer as I have to wait for it to be mailed to me. Update (1 day after appt) - My RX hasnt been sent to the pharmacy. It was suppose to be sent yesterday. - I had to call Dr. Sandy office again to give them my info to send to the pharmacy. Still nothing sent today. - I emailed Dr. Sandy from her website and have not received any response. - If no response or rx has been sent within 24 hours I plan on returning her products. Im not chasing a doctor to help repair my skin. This is not a good start and is beginning to look like some of the other negative reviews other ppl have left. Recommendation Open up an office in DC. Columbia isnt a centralized location to the metro area. Offer more products clients can buy in the store, online or covered by insurance. This place has horrible customer service. I ordered products and I never got a confirmation of shipping it just showed up a month later . One of the products was missing and it has been 3 months and I have yet to receive it. I have left several messages and emails with no response. Dr. Nathasha Sandy seems knowledgeable about skincare and was pretty friendly and personable during my visit. She provided recommendations for my routine, and sold me her products to use. After my visit, I reached out to the office about 5 times within 2 weeks about my prescriptions not being sent to the pharmacy. I never got a response. I eventually sent her a DM via Instagram. She did respond, but the RX still was NOT sent. It made me feel like she prioritized her selling her products over what is best for the patient. I will not be returning. read more

Dr. Natasha Sandy is excellent!! I came to her for several issues related to my skin on my face and body, and she managed to successfully treat all of them. I get really bad blemishes scars due to my acne, as well as I have eczema but little did I know my skin condition was not only eczema, it was a mixture of several different things, that I never knew of and I have been goin to other dermatologist for years to get treated only for eczema. She actually explained to me in great detail why certain places on my face were getting darker, she explained to me why I had several other problems on my back that was just not eczema, I mean I was shocked at all this new information and at the fact that I would finally be getting great results! Not only did she help with my skin (which is already clearing up), she also gave me advice on my weight loss and I also found out I was doing my intermittent dieting completely wrong, ever since my first visit with her I have loss 10lbs, and that was just 2 weeks! Tremendous results just by being educated correctly!! I am extremely excited I found Dr. Sandy and will continue to go to her. I see the other reviews about the wait, or not being able to get in right away, I think people do not understand how great of a doctor she is, and she was well worth the wait for me!!! Obviously you are looking for a new doctor because whatever your current doctor is treating you with is not working so therefore you cannot expect to have a amazing doctor and just think that you are her only patient! I have been a long term patient at this office and although there have been times where the initial reception wasn't warm when greeted and I've waited weeks for products to be received via mail, I kept coming back and have referred at least 5 patients to her. Today my son and I had an appt 15 minutes apart from each other and to ensure he was there on time we drove separately, him coming from school me from work. Mind you, we both drove over an hour. He's seen as scheduled and informed the office/doctor that I was running late for my appointment. I arrived at 4:55pm to my 4:30pm appt so well within my grace period and to be clear, I have always been on time to my appointments. She comes out and greets me not warm though and retreats to the back. Minutes later my son emerges to the front finished with his appointment and after I am checked in, I'm given my card back and told "the doctor said she can't see you." Excuse me?? Not after all I went through to get there. I asked to speak to the doctor and she refused...having already greeting me and not advising such. After I wait 25 minutes in the lobby with her dog running about the office and jumping on me, she comes out with her COAT ON and her dog in it's stroller then proceeds to tell me she it's her discretion whether to see patients who are late regardless of grace period. Huh? Not after I drove 80 minutes in rush hour traffic with a newborn in the backseat AND after my son told you I was running minutes late and you said OK! I went off as I should and guess what, she still walked out the door stating she had to do something for her father. There was no accommodation and no apology. I'm not done, she calls me before I made it home and further insults me saying I had no right to raise my voice in her office. So you not apologetic and called to add more salt to the wound? I purchased their face pads online. It took them almost 2 weeks to process (not ship, but process and pack) the order! Most businesses process in 1-2 business days! I ordered and PAID for qty 2, but I only received qty 1. I emailed and called. No reply or answer. Emailed and called again. No reply or answer. I gave up after the 3rd time. Never received a refund or response yet I see her on social media commenting under celebrity posts. Can't find the time to answer my email or calls though (rolls eyes). It would be nice If I could actually get in to see her. I've been trying to schedule an appointment with her over the past year online. Each time, my appointment was cancelled. So I scheduled an appointment over the phone with the admin twice, two months in advance. Only to get a call two days before the appointment, saying the office is closed again... during there regular business hours saying to call back to reschedule. I called back during those regular business hours and of course nobody answers. I've heard nothing but good things about her. But unfortunately, customer service comes first and I'm not impressed by scheduling system/staff. I love supporting my own when it comes to black care products/services. No one is worth a 3 hour wait. My 1st visit was scheduled at 11 AM. Dr. Sandy was not in the office and running late. I was seen after 2PM. I was expecting my annual skin exam. I usually have 15 or more pre canncer spots removed. She found none. My second visit I waited 2 hrs and 15minutes. Dr. Sandy seems knowlegable but after getting Botox and Fillers, I was shocked when given a bill close to $5,000. for the same procedures that never cost me over $1,200. with other Dermotologist. I had an appointment with Dr. Sandy on 31 August regarding a breakout of small, itchy marks that were multiplying non-stop. After an examination, a cause was not determined for the condition, but I was given a treatment plan of sorts, and informed to see her two days later (2 September) if the condition had not improved. She was going away on holiday and not returning for a week and a half - thus the shortened time allotted for treatment. My condition did not improve at all. Thus, I arrived after work to Dr. Sandy's office on the 2nd as instructed, only to be met with a receptionist who informed me that I could not be seen. I explained my situation and past visit, to which he then told me "have a seat", disappeared for a few minutes, reemerged and began to schedule me for a "follow-up". I once again explained that the doctor requested me there that day (the 2nd) should things not have improved (in actuality, worsening quite a bit). I don't know if he actually explained any of this to the doctor when he disappeared to the back. If not, it's on the receptionist. If so, its on the doctor. My parting words were jokingly, "Well, I guess I should have made an appointment on Monday", to which I was met with, "I guess you should have, brotha'!" Brilliant. Considering my visit was conditional to begin with, an appointment may have been deemed redundant. Not to waste any more time, I left and found a new dermatologist. Dr. Sandy is knowledgeable, but it appears her love for money interferes with her practice of medicine. My husband, child, and myself all went to her. She essentially diagnosed us all with the same items trying to force us to purchase a plethora of products from her product line. I waited over an hour and a half for my scheduled appointment on more than one occasion. She overbooks and if you have to cancel, reschedule or if she cancels you cannot rebook for several months because she spends half her week in Columbia, MD and the other half in in NYC. OMGOSH Dr. Sandy saved my life!! My skin has improved TREMENDOUSLY!!! I've been to so many dermatologists and nothing was working for me. I had adult acne, sun damage, and eczema. I saw Charlemagne from power 105.1 skin and I just had to see her. So I finally saw her and she knew exactly what to do to clear my skin. In a matter of months my skin was clear and back to my normal complexion. The medications that she recommended me I have used before but not the right way. She was very professional and she knows her stuff! One thing I like about her is that she knows when you are not doing your regiment and she will call you out on it. Some people might think it's harsh but to me that shows she is paying attention to your progress. I couldn't be happier. Is her wait time long? I actually really enjoyed Dr. Sandy so I'm a bit conflicted to write this full review. She has a great bedside manner and seems to do well with helping to correct any issues you have associated with acne. But her wait time is horrendous!!! The wait time is no less than 1 hour+ every single appointment you have. When it's time to check out it somehow is the responsibility of the patient to notify the front desk of what you should be billed for at your time of service!! It also takes a minimum of 30 minutes to check out which is totally ridiculous. Don't try calling the establishment either, you will leave several messages before a response is received from anyone!!!! I wish this practice had a better system of scheduling according to the appropriate timeframe because she is very talented. Maybe they are going through growing pains but something has got to be done better to respect the patients time. read more
