I am 100% convinced that the woman at the front did not want us at the restaurant. I'll just say that I'm a little on the "dark side" & my wife is from "further south". I don't know if she was an employee or the owner, because she didn't utter a word to us when we walked in. We were the only customers in the restaurant at the time. She didn't greet us or acknowledge our existence for a few minutes. We travel heavily throughout East Tennessee, Southern Kentucky, and Southwest Virginia for workk. This type of behavior is almost NEVER experienced by us when we frequent local businesses and restaurants. It must be something different out here in Mississippi... Didn't even matter that we were both wearing our Veterans hats, which we usually do when traveling through "certain areas" of the country. I can only imagine how she would have reacted if we had worn the hats of our home countries of Haiti & Colombia! Anyway, the young man that did service us was very polite and helpful. We had to add some salt and pepper to make it better. The young man informed us that this was the first day that they were offering blackberry and blueberry topped parfaits. We also ordered one of those. It tasted delicious! My wife was very happy with it, and she is not a fan of sweets at all. All in all, it was a good meal that would have been great had there been a little more hospitality. This was our first time, so there may be some things that I missed. Maybe this is one of those Seinfeld "soup not-see" places. No chit chat. Just take your food and go.
