It's a long process to finally get done so the amount of experience I've had going through this plus having my father be a real estate agent my whole life, I highly DO NOT RECCOMEND SCOTT SIMS. My husband Ryan West and I went through Scott as our agent for the church he was selling. He had us go through all the work of getting proof of funds, signing papers, and everything. We were the HIGHEST CASH offer, at $100k. The church was listed at 109k and Even told him we would offer $140k, which was 30k above asking price!!! After making us do all the paperwork and promising us it was ours and just had to wait on the sellers agreement, Scott completely ghosted us for a week, blamed it on being on vacation and having no service, then said the seller went from under him and accepted an offer 20k UNDER ASKING PRICE! what????? So after having another real estate friend do some research, he ended up just selling it to a friend of his which caused the company to lose out on what could have been $50,000 more. Not to mention once I messaged him kindly expressing how horrible this process with him has been, he blocked us on everything. I'm so upset by how screwed over I was in this situation by Scott. I'll make sure to let everyone know not to use him or this company.

A VERY VERY disappointing experience. Homesite Mortgage should not be used as an out of state…read morelender. I am a Real Estate Agent in Virginia representing the buyer. He was pre approved and we wrote an offer which was accepted by seller. The first red flag was the appraiser and what appeared to be his inexperience. Then, we continued to deal with our Mortgage Banker who told us more than once that we only needed to submit "one" additional document. Once ALL the additional documents were received, the representative pulled another credit report. FHA Loans in VA accept a credit report within 120 days, not Homesite; 60 days for them. My client's credit score for some reason slipped 7 points for no apparent reason. We were then told within hours of being out of contract, that the only way the transaction could happen is if the buyer had a co-borrower. Not only was my client disappointed and extremely upset, but the listing agent had taken the house off of the market and it has not been shown for two months. The sellers are extremely upset as well. I have been a licensed Real Estate Agent in Virginia for 12 years and I have NEVER had a deal completely crumble. I will NEVER do business again with Homesite Mortgage, whether I have a client already approved or an offer on a listing with the client using Homesite Mortgage. I will switch the client to a local lender.
