We stopped here because we were hungry and I promised hubs Nathans when we visit my parents in NYC. Unfortunately, I promised the original Nathan's in Coney Island and its not fun being on the boardwalk in the winter. So we decided to give this one a try. There are several dining options at this restaurant stop but I still had my heart set on Nathan's. I used to order their cheeseburger when I lived in NY and it was always delicious. Their fries with cheese sauce is amaze balls as well. The line was long and there were about 8 people in front of me. The people ordering and the cashier was quick but it seemed like the people cooking were slow. Actually, I think I only saw one person cooking in the back. It was finally my turn so I ordered 2 cheeseburgers and a large fries with cheese sauce. It took forever! Customers that ordered after me were receiving their food before me but I think I was the only one who ordered burgers. I finally get my order and go back to the car. OMG it was sooooo good! I scarfed down that burger like I did not eat all week lol. Honestly, it was really tasty and pretty decent quality of meat. The fries were just as good and so was the cheese sauce. I did not realize Nathan's has locations all over the place but maybe because I do not go shopping often and I think they are located in malls usually. If you stop here, get the burger. It is worth the wait! Also, the staff were professional and nice. I would have been pulling out my hair if I were them!

$11.12 for 2 hot dogs... Nathan's Famous started selling hot dogs in 1916 for a Nickel! If you adjust for inflation that means in 2024 a hot dog should cost $1.42. Why the mark-up Nathan? You greedy swine merchant. Ok here's the review. Service was nice, staff is very friendly. The service/travel plaza is clean and bright. I was happy to stop on my roadtrip. I know everything costs more $ today but paying over ten bucks for two hot dogs seems nuts. The hot dogs did taste great, they give you plenty of condiments. I feel like a grumpy old man yelping about the price of hot dogs these days. Ok, gotta go yell at the neighborhood kids to get off my lawn...

I came to this rest stop to eat lunch. Decided on Nathan's for hot dogs and chicken. Hot dog was dry, like it was left on the warmer for way too long. The corn dog was ok. The fried chicken was like the whole bottle was poured in the batter. I ordered a 12 piece chicken, and the man putting orders together looked at me then shook his head. Now I know why. I had to peel the skin off all the chicken just to eat it. There was enough salt in one piece to give someone a heart attack. They also ran out of hot sauce somehow, but they barely look at me to tell me. The fries were big crinkle cut style. Not too bad, it was soft though. The onion rings were better, the onion nice taste and breading crunchy. I would not recommend anyone to eat here. I wasted $50 on food we could barely eat.

I feel like this business is a prime example of appropriately managing your expectations when anticipating a product. Yes, it's an expensive rest stop hot dog and the quality of the lemonade probably isn't the best. But is it filling? Is it easy? Is it tasty enough? I'd vote yes for all three. The cheese dog had a good crunch, the bread wasn't stale, and I enjoyed the sugar boost from the lemonade. I even had a good laugh with the cashier. I was exhausted and anxious en route to my home state in prep for a big life change, so when she asked if I wanted ice in my lemonade, I spelled out my last name as the response. So bad. The hot dog didn't make me sick to my stomach either, which was a nice plus. I'd definitely consider stopping at this stall next time I'm in Maryland House.

Now that Nathan's serves breakfast, I thought I would give it a try since I've never been here before. I had a short wait in line before getting up to the counter to place my order. Unfortunately, Nathan's breakfast menu is very, very limited only three items egg and cheese sandwich on either or a bagel or a muffin, sausage, egg and cheese or bacon, egg and cheese with a small hash brown and a juice. I ordered OJ, and got orangeade instead. But, the nice thing was everything was hot because it's made to order. If they had more of a selection, I would have given them 4 stars.

Pure garbage. Learned my lesson. If bored driving and hungry suck it up these hot dogs are repulsive. Bottle of water was good though.

We both enjoyed our first few bites, but then they got to be overwhelming and felt heavy and hearty. My husband loves salt, but he said the chili was salty even for him. For him to say that says a lot. They sell merchandise such as tshirts, caps, coffee cups, magnets, and bumper stickers. There is a bench out front and patio seating in the back. My husband said he wouldn't make a special trip back, but if he were in the area he would come again.

It seems like it has quite the following as every time I go there are more and more people. The hotdogs are pretty standard, but the toppings are creative and make it an experience. It really is just a down dirty standard dog, done gangster style. This is perfect because it is not an overly fancy hotdog for my kids, but I can make it fun and flavorful for myself. They also use quality buns! Not only the dogs, but the Mac and cheese doesn't look anything special, but believe me... it is! Is like gooey noodle gold. On the hot dog, as a side, doesn't matter. It's just good. Only downfall is seating. There just isn't any. They have one bench outside the shop, but it might even belong to Rita's. There is seating for Rita's out back, but most people are pretty much tailgating in their cars or sitting on the curb. I took mine to go so my kids could sit somewhere with a table.

To be honest, I truly consider most restaurants in northeast to be favorites. Thats would Bella's pizzas for the pie's, Frank's as well and pats for the subs. Woody's is a little bit of hit and miss at times, Steak and Main always above target among others. So a fairly competitive environment overall. It's a new place, I will say this the classic was really good, packed with flavor and well seasoned. Not dripping with grease but it had enough fat to get the punch needed to say , wow! That was a juicy burger. The only downside for me. I was surprised at the portion size regarding the burger. Once the order was complete I grabbed my to go bag and headed out the door. I had to stop and open it to make sure there was a burger in there and not something else like fries. The weight was just a little light. After taking it out I put it next to a monster energy drink so you can see the comparison. I reviewed the menu ...there is no notation of it being a 4 oz burger. It is on the lighter side and that being said in all fairness proportionally is the size of a traditional smash burger. Please come out and support! Buy often , keep this place alive and let's press for a classic double!
