    Strawberry French toast
    Rachel N.

The owner is always so friendly at this spot! He makes sure to check on us after we get over food every time. Super nice guy. I'd say the vibe reminds me of a small town restaurant. Service was excellent. The waitresses there are sweet and will even give you a recommendation if you ask! The only thing I'm knocking a star down for is pricing. It was super expensive for this strawberry French toast. For the amount of food, I would expect it to be cheaper. $16 for a slice of French toast

Met up with two buddies at G&A today for lunch. Since it was hot outside, diners chose to enjoy their fare indoors. And the house was full! Maria was our server: very kind, professional and efficient. And a good sales rep for the house as well. I tried something different today: the Ravenator- two burgers with cheese, bacon, onions, mushrooms and julienne onion rings with a "special sauce." I also ordered a side of G&A's classic fries and gravy. My friends had between them an order of Coney burgers with a side of fries and gravy, a Greek salad (with gyro meat) and a side of fries... We enjoyed our food and our chit chat until the party broke up as guests arrived and there was no room at the inn. Common courtesy is a must in this situation. This visit was much better than the last by a long shot. I'm thinking of turning a friend on to G&A very soon; which means I'll be back.

The food was just as great as always--this spot is a must every time I'm back in town. The coney hotdogs are an absolute must-try. The staff is super friendly, and the owner even stopped by to say hi and made us feel truly welcome.

Me and my family have eaten here a few times over the past year and the food is really good. The staff is welcoming and the owner always makes an appearance to say hi. Sit outside during the fall and enjoy the food and the beautiful view of nature.

First time visit and it was great. Small Simple and sweet. The service was great and for a small space it was really open and light. I ordered coffee and The Highlandtowner, which has a little bit of everything. Eggs were the perfect over med. and the french toast alone is worth a visit again. I will definitely be back.

G&A is killing it at this location, if my experience says anything about the average experience. They could use a bigger space - already. We arrived around 1:30pm and the place was packed. There's less than ten tables, and a counter. It has that whole diner ambiance, but without the diner car layout. It was bustling but the wait staff was on point, working together like a very well-oiled machine. You can tell that they spend a lot of time together, and have worked out a system that streamlines their work, but also makes the diner's experience stress-free and wonderful. The food was out to our table in a jiffy, and plentiful. And delicious. My boyfriend got a coney dog (I wanna say "all the way" - there was some cute phrased used that I told myself to remember, but... you know how it is) - chili, onion and mustard. He says that the chili was better than Ann's, for all you Glen Burnie people. He also had a brisket sandwich. He inhaled that. He said that the meat was more thinly sliced than what he has eaten at other barbecue places, but that it was still really good. My mother was DELIGHTED when the waitress told us they served breakfast all day. She had biscuits and gravy with home-style hashbrowns. I had a pulled pork barbecue sandwich, with coleslaw. French fries had to be ordered separately but totally worth it. Thrasher's-esque, making me wish there had been vinegar on the table. They have a great, and comprehensive menu. Plenty of options. Would recommend.

Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives ALERT!!! If you're in the mood for some good burgers and hot dogs, this is the spot for you! They have other great items as well but sliders and dogs are what they are known for. My family and I were on our way from Philadelphia to Virginia and this little place came up on our map to stop for lunch. I was in the mood for some good junk food like a nice fat burger and G&A did not disappoint! The staff were SUPER friendly! Made us feel right at home. Our waitress Lisa M. was amazing! Attentive, gave us a quick history lesson on the place and made us feel very welcomed! Within 5 minutes, the owner Andy was at our table chatting us up, telling us about the food and how this restaurant was passed down to him generation after generation. We learned that G&A was featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. I went online and watched the feature afterwards, it was pretty cool. I'll say it looks like the owner stole Guy Fieri's hairstyle! It looks good Andy, not knocking ya! We got hot dogs, sliders, burger, French onion soup and fries. The fries really stood out, they are hand cut and double fried homemade style. These ain't your typical frozen deep fried jawns! The French Onion soup really stood out as well. Perfectly balanced and had slivers of short rib in it. Wasn't traditional FO but it was really good! Only adjustment I would make is to use thinner, crunchier pickles on the sliders. The thick cut pickles become too mushy and don't stand out or add anything to the burger. Andy, experiment with some different pickle options, see what you think! My boys loved the hot dogs, I loved the energy and the ambiance of this small family run place, and my entire family had a wonderful time here! Go check this place out!

This small restaurant is doing a landslide business for both eat-in and carry out. The servers never stop moving. They all know their roles and do them well. There is limited seating in the dining room, 7 tables and 4 bar seats, and the outside offers more tables with protective screening. On a nice day, it is just perfect to eat outside. I ordered their landmark Coney Island hotdog, it came with homemade beanless chili, fresh onion pieces, and mustard. The hotdog roll was super fresh. All together, it was just right. This is the place to come for this treat. I added an order of French fries, they turned out to be fresh cuts & were cooked in peanut oil. Another treat! My husband ordered the Italian cold cut sub and it was also very fresh and tasty with just enough meat. They did offer a few specials in addition to the menu. The staff makes everyone feel very welcome and does not rush you out. Take your time and enjoy the ambiance. Prices are reasonable.

On the plus side my family enjoyed the ribs and crab balls. On the negative side, the fish in my fish and chips was painfully thin and small. Normally you get a nice chunky piece of fish when you get fish and chips. Not only that, l've never had fish and chips where the skin was on the fish. I left most of the skin behind, but ate some of it because the portion was so small. I had to eat something. Please have the chef look up what fish and chips is supposed to look like. Despite being the only server, our wait person was outstanding - it wasn't their fault that they had to handle the entire dining room. . Also appreciated the carafe of water on the table - but why no ice -had to drink lukewarm water. Make sure to ask for prices upfront and verify-for a single crabcake entrée, we paid $63 when it's advertised online as 30. Let the buyer beware.. I popped in to The Local with one of my friends for a much needed happy hour and we were both in consensus we had to come back to try some other menu items and specials. $7 for the house Sangria and a mule of the day, was a great start to the evening and quite tasty. We both dined on the burger and fries and enjoyed the dish. I would've like a bit of seasoning on the burger patties and maybe a cheddar or American cheese, but that's my personal preference. I asked for the black truffle aioli on the side and that was definitely the way to go to really be able to taste the black truffle. And might I say the aioli was delicious. Our waitress was great and very attentive. The Local offers different specials on various nights and even does live music on Friday nights. This is a great place on the Avenue to enjoy dishes made with ingredients from local businesses and enjoy a delicious meal.

The restaurant is spacious, spotless, and has a welcoming atmosphere that's perfect for families, date nights, or large groups. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Everyone we encountered was genuinely friendly, and our server, Talia, was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel well taken care of throughout the meal. Now... let's talk about the food. We started with the hush puppies, which came out hot, fresh, and had the perfect hint of sweetness. They were a great way to kick off the meal. The fried green tomatoes almost stole the show. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and topped with sweet, tender jumbo lump crab meat....they were absolutely phenomenal and a must-order. The Conrad Soup was another standout. Rich, creamy, hearty, and packed with flavor. It tasted homemade in the best way possible. I also have to give a shoutout to the personal pitcher of sweet tea. As someone who appreciates good sweet tea, it's surprisingly hard to find one that's actually done right. Conrad's nailed it. But the undeniable star of the meal was the steamed blue crabs. I called ahead to reserve 12 large male crabs, which I highly recommend doing if you're planning a visit. Every single crab was perfectly steamed, generously seasoned, and absolutely loaded with sweet, tender meat. They were some of the best steamed crabs I've had in a long time. We purposely came early for lunch so we could take our time, and I'm so glad we did because this was an experience worth savoring. Conrad's exceeded every expectation I had. Between the outstanding service, incredible food, and relaxed atmosphere, I already know I'll be making the drive back. If you're a Maryland crab lover, this place deserves a spot at the top of your list. 10/10!! I'll definitely be back!
