I went in after I did a radio install on my truck and told them that there was no sound. The guy at the front desk made a rude commit saying I don't know how you fucked that up. But I knew he was wrong so I let them install the stereo again and they had the problem. They charged me for being on the phone with support to help them figure out what's going on with my stereo. They used the wrong wire harness. They charged me for it. They are not that good at trouble shooting if they did any at all just charging me. I was not happy Ben usually I'd a good dude. Long story short no refund on parts it never got resolved. So I returned the radio and stuck with the harness. And dash kit illnever go back for service there again. There spose to be professionals at it and know there craft. Yeah right if it's basic install with no issue there good if issues no good. Would be nice if I could get my money back on wrong parts and the rest to. read more

I was greeted by Jesse when I walked in. I told him what I was looking for (FM, Bluetooth, nothin' fancy) for my farm/Grandy's truck. He showed me my options and didn't try to sell me anymore than I wanted. He explained that my current wiring harness would work for the new system. Overall it was a great experience! I just wish they had been a little more clear/upfront about what I was buying. I purchased a remote start/keyless entry for my vehicle and I went with the best option which included the "Drone" which's allows me to use my phone to monitor things. It is a very useful feature for me but I was never told about the subscription fee that I'd have to pay after 30 days. The fee is fine with me as it is worth it but I just wish I had known the subscription was needed. Made it sound like I was paying extra for the drone to have all the features but didn't know it needed a "plan" read more

Not very happy with the overall service. I went to have my Kenwood stereo put in with a back up camera added. I did like that I didn't have to make an appointment. But when I got my car back the install was poor. I had to go back a get some of my items that were not used and still did not get everything. My head unit now has a scratch that cannot be repaired. The installer said he didn't see that before and I know I didn't have the scratches before. They did nothing to fix it. I also went home with someone else's receipt. I would never recommend this place to anyone that is proud of their vehicle yesterday they put in an amplifier my dash was in perfect condition now it has several cracks and some pieces missing from it they said it was normal it's not normal last week I had to pick up in the shop they remove the dash to fix a leak in the air condition unit they put the dash back together with not as much as one scratch national found an alarm destroyed my dash $500 worth of damage plus it cost me $175 to have the amplifier put in $675 in a decrease the value of my vehicle by $2,000 read more

I've visited this place on 3 different occasions and I've had an issue every time And those visits were years apart, which is why I returned thinking that I would have better luck considering there aren't a ton of places around that provide those need. A great place to get security systems for your car! After someone tried to steal my car my mom called and they were able to have me in that same day! My alarm/panic on my car was disabled and I suspected the person might come back that evening (and he did - but this time my car was ready and the light on the dash for the system detoured them), so I wanted to get the best system. They didn't oversell me, they were honest about the difference in products and were so kind in a tough situation! National Auto was fantastic. They installed a remote start on my daughter's Toyota Prius which has press-to-start, an issue for most remote start systems. They quoted me a good price and with no pressure offered an upgrade where my daughter can start it using her cell phone. A really nice feature when you're at the mall and it's -2 degrees outside. In store questions were answered. Associate was friendly. Items ordered were in on time and the work was done on time. As my first time buying a replacement radio, I did not verbalize my expectations correctly. "Can you replace the auxillary port with a USB port?" "Yes." I did not ask "will it be replaced flush like the aux port or normal looking USB ports" and I now have a cord hanging from a hole drilled through the dash. I did ask for options, and was given a couple options. I will have this corrected, but I will still have a drilled hole in the dash. No instructions for using the radio given - the boxes, new manual, and old equipment is left in the vehicle. I think if you'd like more customer service/hand holding/more information, you may want someplace like Beat Buy. Back up camera sound is now gone. Did not ask if steering wheel controls come with radio. I has always had both so I assumed they came together. The work was fine. It really comes down to knowing what questions to ask up front so that you'll be satisfied. read more

Walked in this morning without an appointment wanting to get info on remote start for my pickup. Got there when the business opened at 9 AM . Was professionally approached and had all my questions & concerns answered without hesitation. I purchased the remote start . They pulled my truck in immediately and got started on the installation, said it would take 2 1/2 to 3 hours to install , I waited in the waiting area for the remote to be installed and 10:50. I was approached and told my truck was done. I was then showed & explained how the system worked.. Recenttly I went into National Auto Sound & Security to have a keyless entry system put into my vehicle. I was nervous about time constraints because they did not offer appointments, but I did not need to be. The gentleman that helped me (Ben) could not have been nicer. He explained everything to me, showed me a very affordable model and gave me the time of an hour to an hour and a half. I went, got lunch and an hour later, my vehicle was readiy and working great! I recently bought an entire car audio system at National Auto. This was the first time I'd purchased speakers for my car and I didn't have much knowledge of anything quite frankly.. I just knew I wanted it to sound bold and clear and amazing! DO NOT GO HERE!! Bad service, unreliable work, lied to me about the products. They were suppose to install a remote start and security system on my car. Before I had them touch the car I directly asked if there was an arming sequence (like e-brake then tap breaks then hold a button on the fob before turning the car off every time). He assured me that there was no arming sequence. When I picked up the car (which took them 2 more days than initial agreed upon), another sales rep took me to the car to show me the start up sequence. I was shocked that they had DIRECTLY lied to me. Furthermore, when the sales guy unlocked the car the stock alarm system started going off. The guy just said "we could not figure out how to disable it". Again, WTF? In the process of trying to turn off the alarm, he took his lit cigarette into my car and kept smoking. Once he got the alarm to stop he told me to just carry around factory key fab too. He handed me the 2 key fobs for the alarm and turned to leave. When I looked at the fob I realized that the 2-way fob (it came with 1 2-way and 1 1-way communicating fob) was not working. When I looked to see if it had a battery in it, I found an exploded battery in the compartment. I went to go talk to the service people inside but they had already locked to doors. The guy was still standing there and when I got his attention he just yelled through the door that they were closed. Later that night I tried another battery, but it didn't work so I went back to the store and they just said something about how I must have dropped it in a puddle of water (and it had not rained in the 2 days between my trips to this store) and sent me away with the broken piece. Now, the remote start function doesn't work at all, apparently has no security system aside from the siren because the system spazzed a few times and they just told me to call the manufacturer. The manufacturer tech person walked me through some steps and concluded that the system was installed very incorrectly. He was especially shocked when the only way I could get the alarm to stop going off was to turn to car on and drive around for a while (meaning the shop didn't install the engine immobilizer and gas cut off which was in the quoted installation cost which was more than the unit had even costed from them). Also, now, I have to carry around 2 key fob because the factory alarm randomly arms itself a few times a week. All in all, A bad experience with them. Do not go here if you want honest work done on your car. All this place has is good advertisements on Google, so beware. read more

That's very funny Richard because you were the person I dealt with when I came in there... and as far as my car being beat up it was freshly purchased from the funeral home and never had anything other than a stock stereo.... and I don't know what you mean by wiring in the side panels because there is no wiring in the side panels. There's two 4 x 6 speakers in the front dashboard and that's it. Let me refresh your memory a little bit.. It was about 6-7 years ago , I bought a 7 inch flip out on sale , it quit working less than a day after purchase , A 4 foot 5 inch tall troll looking guy was trying to argue with me at your show room while you were threatening to call the police because I would not calm down because my car almost caught on fire does that ring a bell? nothing was ever done to pacify the situation, to make me a happy repeat customer, or even to replace the defective equipment.... The bottom line is your shop did faulty work, nobody wants to own it even seven years later, and I have the most awesome unpleasurable experience dealing with incompetent buffoons in your establishment... I will make sure that everyone I know and every review site has my review of your business and the damage that was caused... All you guys had to do at that moment was correct the install replace equipment and I would've been happy and this would not even be posted, but thankfully with the Internet and instant availability of information I can now share my displeasure with everyone in the metropolitan area... If you would like to do something to pacify me in this situation I would be more than willing to listen to what you have to say..... read more

I posted a review on 1/10/2011 in regards to a damaged speaker that was sold to me on 12/21/2010. Originally my attempts to return/exchange the speaker were unsuccessful and caused me much frustration. After I posted this review, Richard Galler (NAS owner) and I had exchanged a few emails and phone conversations and were able to come to a resolution. He traded the damaged Pioneer speaker for a comparable BOSS 10" speaker that was compatible with the speaker enclosure (box) that I had originally purchased from him. He was kind enough to demo it in the store and help me make a smooth trade. I would like to thank Richard for taking the time to make things right. Oh My GOD! Stay far, far far away from this place! What a bunch of crooks! One star is way too good! They should have negative stars. They don't take appointments and they are first come first serve. We showed up 3 times to have a simple power inverter installed. 2 wires and 4 screws. Simple right? WRONG! First of all I'm a business owner with 20 fleet vehicles! On Friday I called and spoke to NAS and I told them my problem of being turned away each time my driver stops by. I was assured by the person on the phone that if I had the vehicle there first thing in the morning, on Saturday, when they opened the doors, that they would take care of it first thing and we would be #1. What a bunch of horse hockey. This is a company vehicle, with our logo all over it. So I sent my driver to NAS and he was standing at the front doors when they were opened. Our driver had a company credit card and a company check. At first they refused to take either form of payment, after a screaming match back and forth, they agreed to run the credit card. Now keep in mind this is a simple power inverter... 2 wires and 4 screws. They ran our company credit card for PREPAYMENT OF $508.00 dollars. Then they told my driver that "it was in line up and they would get to it when they could get to it!" They put several vehicles in front of us. We cancelled the transaction and I instructed my driver to leave! This is the most UNPROFESSIONAL company in Kansas City! If you like being screwed... this is your place!!! read more

Well I've been here before and all worked out this time not so much . Went In and got a price to install a system that I had bought elsewhere it was $225 with all tbe accessories I needed . Went back in on day of installation and it was $50 more ? Because it had my system had nav ? Seemed kinda scandalous but I was there so whatever - they did the work and I might aswell took it to Walmart .. They cracked my casing on my factory plastic failed to mention it ,didn't even clean the inside out -crap and shreds all over left it a complete mess- the Mgr said the gps antenna would be above the mirror on the outside in the center stuck it on the corner looks hideous !!Stay clear of this hack place I guess .. This was a GREAT day! I made a trip from Lee's Summit to National Auto Sound & Security on 40 Hwy in Independence, not really expecting to get my issue solved as I'd gotten the runaround from several other businesses. I was a very happy former factory-installed OnStar user for years. When I chose a new non-GM vehicle, it was with the intention of having a FMV OnStar installed after purchase. I even bought the unit before my new Subaru arrived. Whoops, then OnStar quit manufacturing the aftermarket unit. And their major local installer stopping installing them. I checked with one installer in KS who wanted to charge 4 times the original cost for labor. And another in Independence who said they could get to my install in a couple of months. Another in Blue Springs promised to call back and never did. I was bummed. Though I have a factory navigation system, it is not as user friendly as OnStar nor will it locate me in the event of an emergency. I read a couple of positive reviews for National Auto Sound & Security and decided to just drive there and plead my case. They immediately welcomed me, assessed my unit, reviewed what the net had to say, checked my vehicle and with input from many team members agreed that they could install though no parts list or instructions were provided. My car went into their bay and the mission was accomplished in less than half the time mentioned on line. Neat as can be, fully functioning before I left the premises. WHAT A CAPABLE, CARING GROUP!! I feel very fortunate to get exactly what I wanted, pay a fair price, and in an extremely short period of time. Life is good. read more

After doing some immense shopping around in the KC area for estimates on installing a sub and amp to my factory radio, my fiance and I were going to tackle the install on our own. We had run into places that seemed to charge on the high end for labor and a few places trying to push additional products that I didn't need to complete the job. Then I was referred to National Auto Sound in Independence and decided to call them up. Ben took the time to patiently answer all of my (stupid) questions on the amp and subwoofer install, providing me the best customer service I've received anywhere in quite some time. I couldn't believe that I was able to impulsively stop by with my car on a Friday afternoon and was out the door in less than one and a half hours. My wires were seamlessly tucked away and of course, I am more than pleased with the sound quality. These guys definitely know what they're doing. Audio/security device installations are all they do! Not to mention their showroom floor is pretty sweet, with competitively priced Alpine, Kenwood, and Pioneer (and more) products. Make sure to check their store out before you buy your next amp, sub, enclosures, etc. Overall, National Auto Sound & Security is quick, sensibly priced and most importantly, they provide honest service.
