My tire light came on, and I pulled in on a busy Friday morning. A very nice gentleman that works there appeared to been taking a break, but he approached me and I told him what was going on. He immediately helped me and put air in my tire. I know it may seem small, but this was a BIG HELP for me since I'm from out of town and traveling. Over the past few years, these are my go to guys for tires and tire rotation. In addition, my daughter has a 1999 Honda Civic that seems to always have something wrong with it. And no matter what the problem is, these guys can fix it! Shocks, struts, radiator replacement, changing timing belt, oil change and on and on... All at reasonable prices. They are also very honest. Do not waste your time! Went on a Wednesday and ordered a specific tire. They said they would have it the next day. Thursday I called them and no one seemed to know where my tire was. I got a big run around. Finally they said they got the tire in. After they installed it I noticed that the tire was a completely different brand name with a completely different tread. They assured me that the manufacturer changes the name every 6 months between MasterCraft and Remington. I call BS!! Update: I contacted the company that manufactures MasterCraft, Cooper Tires, they said Remington is not part of their brands. So basically what happened was I ordered a specific tire from National Discount. Instead of telling me straight up that they don't have that specific tire in but can get something similar, they lied and told me they can get it. I really wish I had known about tires before I went there because I would have insisted on them removing the tire and taking my business some where else. Now I'm out $150 and one of my tires doesn't match the others. I don't have much money to spend but I was willing to pay $150 to get the exact tire as the others. read more

I have 5 kids who are 16 to 23 and additionally I have 3 vehicles so tires are a big expense. These guys are always fair and do a good job. In the past 10 years the only complaints would be that they are not the best on high end wheels. If you have a BMW or something like that you may end up with some scuffs on the wheel edges. I think the dealers are more careful or perhaps have better maintained equipment but you pay 25% to 50% more. For normal cars and trucks though they are quick and low priced. I also had the oil changed a few times and while that was fine, I did have oil drips in the garage from them not wiping off everything underneath real well. Again, dealers pay more attention to detail but it's all at a cost. For the kids vehicles they rock. Enjoy! read more

Went on a Thursday afternoon. Needed 2 tires for my 28 ft trailer. They close at 5. I got there at 430, thinking to ask if they just had my tires in stock for Friday. Gentleman walked out with me to check tire size. Said definitely. As he was walking back in, he turned and said, all ya need are those 2. I said yes, he and his garage crew jumped on it and I was out by 5!!! Nice service and the garage crew were very nice even though it was closing time and they, as I, would be ready to go!! This is very sad. A customer is supposed to be able to trust another person or company who stands behind their work. However this is not the case. I have sent my wife's van to have an alignment done and finished. But it is not. It's still pulling. We bought the vehicle used from Moss Honda of Lafayette and never did it pull at all like it is now. I have spoken to several Licensed mechanics and other shops in Lafayette and they all said "there is always a solution to the problem". It was mentioned "if a caster is out of spec, you need to have a control arm replaced due to a bushing warn out". I spoke with a mechanic who works at National Discount Tire on Ambassador it seems as if they were quick to take pay and not resolve the problem. This is the exact reason why people cannot and will not confine in other people who do not put the customer service first. I cannot in good Conscience say that they are the shop or place to have any maintenance or service completed. read more

I had a $500 brake package done on my car last year at National and they would not honor the work or the parts. When my husband first brought the car in they told him that the pads were only warranty for 24,000 miles, yet charged me $90 for them. Brake pads don't cost $90 and if they do, they should last a lot longer than 24,000 miles. Instead of cutting the rotors which most places do they told me I needed new rotors which I got. The pads used by National were so cheap that they cut into the new rotor. Once the car was checked by National they told my husband that it was the calipers were the cause. We decided to bring the car to another place and the first thing they said when changing the brake pads was that the calipers were still good, but I needed to have my new rotors cut because of the cheap brake pads that were on there. National also change the brake fluid, which was not needed! They charged me $11.90 for the fluid and $60 for a brake fluid exchange. Don't let National take advantage of you like they did me!! read more

This was the second time i've been to national tire. The first time was just for new tires and they gave me a reasonable deal and quick service. This time my car was making a strange sound that worried me so i went back because i didn't know where else to go. I got there pretty late in the afternoon and explained my problem, I was informed that they may not have time to handle it but after voicing my concern and fear they agreed to at least look at it. The called me, told me what the problem was, the pricing for repair, once again a reasonable price, and that they would fix it that day even though it meant staying a little late. Im a working mother who relies on my car to get my child and i from one side of town to the other on a daily basis so having my car breakdown on me would be a huge issue. I'm very grateful to all the guys who work there for helping me out even though it kept them at work later then necessary. read more
