So, it took 2 hour and 15 minutes at a cost of $2,000. At the end, the employee was using a rag to wipe up the wet spots on the floors, then he used the same rag on the counters! Which I had to go back and clean. We were told they would move our family room rug and furniture and then put it back where it was. They came and got me and said it was back where it was when they moved it, it wasn't. They asked me to direct them on placement. They had to move the rug twice, but only by inches. After the second time, he turned and said that was the last and they would have to charge me for another attempt. This wasn't worth $2,000 it wasn't worth $1,000. It's a real shame because they came recommended by several neighbors. I whole heartedly say, go elsewhere, it's a real rip off.

They did complete wrap around of stacked stone on our double sided fireplace going up 12 feet. They also hung 2 pictures in the stone and installed a wood mantle on one side. The crew showed up at 7:00 am everyday and worked straight through until 3:00 pm for 5 days finishing on Friday. They showed great pride in their work and cleaned up everything when they were done. Jason came by at the end of the job to check it out and had them fill in some gaps in the stone lines to make things look more realistic and it made a huge difference. They weren't the cheapest, but without a doubt one of the best. We will be using them again to redo the back splash. Thanks to Andrew, Taylor and Jason for the great job.

Both Jim & Lacy will promise you the moon and do NOT deliver. We needed 3 bathrooms re-tiled and needed carpet for a 3rd bedroom, Both were very gracious and accommodating with the price and measurements before we purchased. We even patently waited a couple of weeks for Jim to finish a job before he could start ours. He did start on the March 30th as stated and said he would be done with the tile by Wed 4/1. Since this is a 2nd home and we live in LA, I came down to our Condo on Wed afternoon expecting to have the new tile in and working toilets, as I was promised. Well I found a HUGE mess with dust and dirt over the entire home, nothing was covered, NOT even the carpets in both the master and second bedrooms. There was dirt & mud being tracked into our home. I was forced to get a hotel for the night because there was not any working bathroom. He promised he would be done by Friday, 4/3 but then Jim sends his son out to start another job instead of finishing our job because the other customer is leaving the country and is yelling at Jim, while he installs the carpet. As he is finishes up the carpet, I ask him why there is as HUGE seem in the carpet where hall and bedroom meet, and he tells me that it will go away soon after the carpet stretches. He promised to come back in several weeks to "fix it". He finally finishes up the tile & carpet and we give him his check, then my wife and I do a massive clean all day on Saturday 4/4. That is when we notice that carpet is lower that the new tile installation and we have a tripping hazard in two of the bathrooms where the tile & carpet meet. That is when the phone calls and promises started. Jim promised to come out and either raise the carp up with more padding our install a threshold (which we purchased). He did come out on 4/23 to finally inspect the job but was a NO show on the day promised to repair it, and he has not returned calls, nor followed-up to reschedule, just many empty broken promises. Obliviously Jim does not care about repeat or referral business or our small issue would have been taken care of immediately, which this is just poor business. Our only option now is to hire a second contractor to fix the tripping issue in the bathrooms, contact the carpet manufacture directly about the seam to see what can be done, then take legal action in court to get our money back. I can NOT recommend Jim or Son's Tile to anyone.

Lacey was a God send helping me find the tile that was perfect for my house. I'm not very good at picturing how everything will look together and she was WONDERFUL helping me find the PERFECT fit for the floor for the whole house. The tile was top grade, the price was very fair and the installation went GREAT! I was so impressed with Jim and his crew (Jessie, Jamie and Rodrigo) That I asked him to tile my front bathroom and redo my master bathroom. Jim gave me a fair price again and did a majority of the construction work along with the tile for the master bath. The existing shower was about 3' x3' (1952 mid century modern home) and he and his crew tore out the existing shower, did Jackhammering of the concrete, rebuilt the wall and tiled everything, THEN he put up a beautiful glass block wall. I don't understand what Steve D. experienced as I grew to know Jim, Lacey and the crew very well and Jim always kept his word, showed up when he said he would, did A+ quality work and also was there to calm me. I am a single Mom of 3 kids and was staying in Palm Springs for 6 months to re-model my house. for 3 of those months my kids were back in San Francisco and I was alone and anxious to finish and get home to them. Jim and Lacey were so understanding and compassionate. I cried, I lost it and Jim and Lacey both were there to help be way beyond what is expected out of a tile crew. Jim helped me find dependable people to assist with Handyman work - I never would have finished without their advise and assistance - THANK YOU!!!!! As a single woman trying to hire people in the trades, I am very skeptical and once I saw the work Jim and his crew did I could let down my guard; I found people I could trust. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Sons Tile and Stone for anyone needing work done.
