Let me save you the trouble of doing all that research - Phil White Painting is highly experienced. They are perfectionists, excellent communicators, organize the job very well, and go the extra mile to please the customer. They know their paint and made recommendations about product level and brand that in their experience, works best in the central Florida climate. Attention to detail is everything in painting. For example, they did a superb job navigating the line between the stucco soffits (dark brown) and the body color (creamy white) - the stucco texture on both surface required extra focus and precision, and the line is perfect all the way around the house. They also did, at no extra charge, some selected stucco patching to hide a previous repair line and minor flaws, and used two, and in some spots, three coats of paint to ensure a seamless, flawless finish. Throughout the job, they communicated frequently, confirmed our wishes, and the entire crew was friendly and helpful. We did a complete walkthrough upon completion, and we were extremely happy with the finished result! Let me not forget to mention that the price was fair and reasonable. I wanted to hire someone mostly to give me peace of mind and ensure that we didn't have any underlying mold issues before entering the muggy, hot, rainy summer months... aka the perfect breeding conditions for mold. Now that we have a baby in the house, I just wanted to take some precautions. We've all been under the weather fairly often over the past few months, so my paranoia set in. We live in an older bungalow style home, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to check just in case. I connected with Elite Mold Services and a member from their team gave me a call to walk me through their services, how it work, and pricing. I liked that they were very transparent & thorough in their explanation of the process. I decided to move forward and they were able to schedule one of their inspectors to come the next day. I received updates and their agreement via text message. Eduardo arrived promptly on time to complete the mold assessment. He was very kind & professional, explaining what he was doing along the way. He inspected the entire home both indoors and outdoors, as well as the attic. They use special technology to detect moisture behind walls and on surfaces. He paid careful attention to my main areas of concern including the baby's nursery and the bathroom. He did detect some moisture behind the walls of the shower, as well as some mold growth on the outside of the HVAC unit in the attic. We agreed to his suggestion to have the mold in the attic tested to make sure it was not inside the HVAC system, impacting our air quality. He took a sample of the mold (it's $80 for each lab test which they told us up front) and we had the results back within about 5 days. They provide you with a detailed report of the inspection and any lab results, as well as any remediation suggestions & resources for preferred vendors. I am constantly checking humidity levels and trying to figure out if there could still be issues somewhere since my health has continued to get worse and worse. My master bathroom showed some water damage on the drywall near the baseboard and I decided to make an appointment with Elite to have the drywall cut out and have the inside looked at to see if I had finally found the source of mold that must certainly be making me feel this badly. The technician cut out a large piece of drywall and looked into the wall, said it looked good and saw no leaks so they sealed the bathroom off and ran scrubbers for 24 hours etc...... all the basics. When they were done, I noticed a lot of white matter on the wood inside the wall. I asked if that was mold? I was told "I don't know. Mold can be all different colors". I was offered some kind of spray be sprayed all over the wood to "treat it". That was it. Then my boyfriend replaced the drywall for me. So I paid an obscene amount of money for drywall to be cut out and I still don't know for certain if what was on the wood was mold. I could have cut out and replaced the drywall myself. I gained zero information or clarity from this process.
