Gotta get some gear! Great memory!

So I want to begin by saying this is an amazing course to experience. Very thorough, detailed, and informative. Not only are you recognized as student but you are taught to be the best. Also want to mention the Los Angeles Sheriff's department has a list of instructors who are approved in the state of California to teach. So these are the guys to learn from. These instructors are legally licensed to teach you the safety and skills to obtain a CCW certification. Shoutout to Ron, Juan, Robert, Victor, Randy, and Sebastian for being the best representation of what and how all instructors should be. Patience and professionalism at its finest! Whether you're a beginner shooter or an expert, Medic Up offers you lessons from all ranges. Ha Ranges, see what I did there? In all seriousness they are an amazing group of gentlemen who take their time to ensure you are well informed and ready for what can occur at any given scenario. Education is key so think wisely and choose the best class of instructors for your education. P.S. did I mention these are some really cool individuals? Need I say more?

I highly recommend Medic Up. I attended their 16 hour initial CCW training and it was amazing. As someone who likes to be prepared, I appreciated the emails from Juan clearly outlining the expectations for the training, including what to bring, maps showing where to go, and paperwork to fill out ahead of time. As a relative beginner when it comes to firearms, I was a pretty nervous going into it but everyone on the Medic Up team was so professional and patient. They had good senses of humor too, which made the class fun and eased my nerves. There were 18 people in my training, and plenty of instructors. Someone was always there to help me when I needed it. Victor and Sebastian helped me with my grip and trigger pull which significantly improved my accuracy. Not only are these guys very knowledgeable and skilled when it comes to firearms, you can tell they are passionate about it as well. Beyond actually shooting a gun, they also provided education regarding life saving measures and the importance of legal representation. Matt led the legal portion, and he had a vast understanding of every bill/law pertaining to 2A rights. It was very eye opening and inspired me to do my own research. Sebastian presented the medical info and you can tell he knows his stuff. He demonstrated how to respond to gun shot wounds to different parts of the body, such as using a tourniquet, packing a wound, or using a chest seal. When I got home I ordered a few more things for my emergency kit based off his recommendations. Day 2 was in a classroom, led by Randy. He was incredibly knowledgeable and answered every question and hypothetical situation thrown at him. He provided a lot of clarity regarding when you can legally defend yourself using your firearm. Also, I received my course completion certificate from Juan by the end of the day. Overall, this was a very organized, well-rounded course led by professionals. Despite my nerves going into it, there wasn't a moment where I regretted being there or felt uncomfortable. TBH I liked it so much I wish it was longer! It was engaging and informative and I walked away learning way more than I thought I would. I am excited to continue to hone my skills and I will definitely be taking more courses with Medic Up in the future.

Only halfway through my CCW training with Medic Up Consulting, and I'm already a fan. Today covered the range portion of the course, and I was genuinely impressed. From the start, the instructors were professional, patient, and made sure everyone felt confident and safe handling their firearms. Before signing up, I looked into several CCW programs, but many seemed focused on convenience or shortcuts, partial online courses, minimal range time, that sort of thing. As a first-time CCW applicant, I wanted the opposite. I wanted a hands-on, full learning experience with real instruction. Medic Up delivers exactly that. What really stood out to me today was the first-aid training. Learning how to properly apply a tourniquet and provide immediate aid to injuries was actually my favorite part of the entire day. The chances of needing to use those skills in real life are far greater than ever having to draw a weapon, and it's something I'm grateful they included. The instructors made sure everyone understood not just the "how," but the "why" behind every step. I'll be back tomorrow for the in-class portion, but if the second half is anything like today, I can already say this team sets the standard.

This weekend finished up my 24th hour with this crew (16 hour CCW, 8 hour renewal) and I'll never go to anyone else while I live relatively close. They're some of the kindest, patient and honest group of guys I've ever met. They move at the pace you're comfortable with, never judge or rush you, and aren't "mightier than thou" instructors. They're there to help you with your fundamentals and safety - regardless of what it takes. They will, however, call you on your BS (Juan) if you show that you're receptive to feedback and want to learn. When they see you excelling, they'll cheer you on, but then find a way to challenge you, showing you your next growth goal. Amazing group of guys. I've known the team for 2+ years now and trust my firearms training to none other. The perfect 5* rating isn't a fluke and is much deserved. Thanks team!

I just finished my 16-hour CCW course with Medic Up Consulting and it was a solid 5-star experience. I honestly learned so much more than I expected. The deep dive into trigger manipulation really helped my technique, and having medic training included in the curriculum is a huge plus that sets them apart. Huge thanks to Randy and Rob--the class with them was incredibly helpful for actually understanding the responsibilities and reality of having a CCW. If you're looking for professional, high-quality training from people who really know their stuff, this is the place to go.

The instructors showing us how its done in the rain!

MedicUp Consulting is the real deal. I took their Los Angeles County CCW course this past weekend (Nov 15-16), and it was hands-down the best training experience I've had. They cover CCW fundamentals, but the big standout is how much emphasis they put on medical and Stop the Bleed training -- which every CCW holder should be learning. It rained both days, one day fully outdoors, and it was an eye-opener for everyone. Most students (including me) run red dots, and none of us realized how much rain, cold, and wet grips would affect shooting. The instructors didn't just point out the challenges -- they taught us how to work around them. That alone made the course worth it. Matt deserves a special mention. During a drill he came over, corrected my grip, and within minutes my accuracy jumped. My shot grouping got tighter throughout the entire day. He even identified that a "cool" mod I did to my gun was actually hurting my aim -- and he proved it by shooting a tiny grouping with my own pistol. On top of that, his knowledge of California 2A issues and CCW insurance was top-tier. Randy was another instructor who stood out. He broke down fundamentals in a way that made sense, shared real sheriff experience, and tied everything back to ethics, responsibility, and proper decision-making. I left day one feeling like I understood why I was doing everything I was being taught. Seabass handled the medical portion and absolutely crushed it. He opened my eyes to gaps in my first-aid kits, explained what real trauma gear looks like, and showed exactly how to use everything. I went home and immediately ordered new gear to upgrade all my vehicle kits. Rod kept the entire course running smooth and brought the classroom portion to another level. On day two he even brought a bunch of his personal CCW gear -- holsters, belts, setups, firearms -- so we could physically handle them and figure out what works for us. Super helpful, and honestly something most instructors never do. Another cool thing: these guys bring real gear they personally run. I ended up buying the same red dot and grip module they brought for my P365 because seeing it in action made the choice easy. Overall, the course was phenomenal. I've been recommending MedicUp for two years without even having taken the class myself -- now that I finally have, I'll recommend them even harder. These guys genuinely care, they know their stuff, and they make sure you walk out better prepared than when you walked in. And here's the real proof: when mandatory classes end (like traffic school), everyone bolts for the door. At MedicUp's course, a bunch of us voluntarily hung around for 30 minutes after class on day two just talking with Randy and Rod because they were that cool to hang out with. If you're on the fence, take the course. You'll learn more than you expect, and you'll walk away a better shooter and safer CCW holder.

My 90 round qualification for my ccw with medic up

More than worth the money ($400). Went here for my ccw class (initial) specifically them out of all the others for the medic training portion and wasn't disappointed. Shoutout to Randy and the guy in the picture (Ramun?) cause they were super helpful and knowledgeable. Would def come back for my renewal / other classes and would recommend to friends and family.

I completed CPR training in February 2026 in Colorado and initially, the process itself was smooth…read more I can certainly acknowledge that. However, there were significant issues with the training setup that ultimately led to an injury. Due to the room configuration, I was unable to properly reach the mannequins and had to perform CPR on my tiptoes. The table was not adjustable, and no stool or accommodation was available. As a result of these poor ergonomics and lack of proper setup, I sustained a neck and trapezius injury mid-cycle. Ended up having to literally crawl on to the table . At the time, I reached out simply to provide feedback in hopes of preventing a similar experience for others especially individuals under 5 feet tall. The initial response I received was apologetic, and I appreciated that. However, after enduring five weeks of significant pain, I followed up to ask about the appropriate process before seeking medical care, as providers often ask for details about how an injury occurred. Unfortunately, the response I received at that point was defensive and dismissive, referencing a signed waiver rather than addressing the concern. The response was unfortunate. I fully understand that CPR training can be physically demanding. However, participants should be provided with a safe and properly adjusted environment to perform these skills. In this case, the setup did not allow for that and contributed directly to my injury. As a side note, I happened to have the session recorded (originally intended for social media), and it clearly shows the moment the injury occurred. Overall, I'm very disappointed in both the lack of appropriate setup and the company's response. I am still dealing with daily neck pain without resolution.
