I called Farmers on 1/6/2025 and they refused to refund this unauthorized $195 charge. I called the local office and corporates office too. I know they are breaking the law and don't have my permission to charge my credit card when ever they feel like it. Now, just because my grandfather used them isn't reason enough for me, but once I started working in high school, I realized why granddad used them. First, the service is excellent. Many of the agents have been there for decades, so there's a sort of personal connection there that I just wouldn't get with an HR Block-type firm. And given that they're a Michigan institution, their first priority seems to be service, not jacking up prices so high that they put a large dent in your returns. The agent determines how much your return costs; after developing relationships with our agents over the years, the cost of our returns has gone down, not up! I guess it's this kind of ethic that keeps me coming back; they THANK me for coming back each year, not only verbally, but financially as well. That's reason enough for me!
