OOverall, the customer service is okay. One major frustration is the $50 fee to reschedule calibrations. Customers have very little control over the calibration schedule since appointments are automatically set every 60 days. If you do not reschedule within 7 days, they charge a rescheduling fee. On top of that, the only way to reschedule is by calling customer service and waiting on hold. Essentially, you are paying $50 just to make a phone call and change an appointment. Other interlock companies offer much more flexibility by allowing customers to visit any partnered service provider within a calibration window period, which is far more convenient. read more

This company is actually bull. They are complete scammers. When I got my device installed they told me I had no payments till my first calibration. I come in for my fourth calibration when they tell me I can't get the service done because I never paid my installation fee. Apparently it was $30 and they never added this payment on or told me it was past due. I was told I needed to pay it in order to get my calibration which they added around $140 in late fees. How can they actually do this and why did they let me get my other calibrations without telling me about this installation fee, oh yeah because they are scammers and actually want there customers to go bankrupt. Also to mention there devices are so sensitive mouthwash can set it off and your forced to pay $75 to reset the device. Last thing, there customer service is terrible the ladies are so passive aggressive and make you feel terrible about yourself, never choose this company for your own sanity. read more

Nationwide Interlock charged me hundreds of dollars above the legal limit set by the state -- despite Tennessee law clearly limiting ignition interlock costs to $100 per month total. Over nearly two years, I was billed $169 to $226 monthly with zero transparency. They added on: A $10 "discreet cup" fee every month -- for an item they only sent once Repeated $50 late fees A $90 "annual" fee no one could explain When I asked for a copy of the contract I supposedly agreed to, they stalled. Then they ghosted me. The only link they ever sent to the contract no longer works. When I followed up, I was ignored. The worst part? After pressing for accountability, they casually offered to lower my fee moving forward -- a quiet acknowledgment that they've been breaking the rules all along, without offering a single penny in refund. This isn't a billing error -- it's a business model. If you're in Tennessee, file a complaint with the Department of Safety. And think very carefully before signing up with Nationwide Interlock. I have been dealing with this company for roughly 18 months as they bought out the company I initially dealt with. Initially I had no issues what so ever. I even had a lockout on the device that Joshua Nucian waived the fee because we couldn't determine the cause. Last month when I took my car in for service the center told me they couldn't service my car as Nationwide was claiming I had a past due balance. I then receive a call from someone named Jenny telling me I owe roughly $300 and was more than a month behind on payments. After she screamed at me and the tech at the service center I had no choice but to make a payment as I wouldn't be able to drive otherwise. The next day I sent bank records and tracking showing I had never missed a payment to three people at this company and have followed up multiple times to no response at all. I have requested a statement of my account multiple times to again no reply. I would like to switch companies but cannot as they are claiming I owe them money when in fact I have overpaid them and proved it to them! Despite this I have still paid the amount of money as I cannot stand dealing with them any longer. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they lied stating they have sent me a statement of account and have not. I have asked a total of 22 times in the last 5 weeks for a statement of account and/or my contract to be ignored by every person in this company asked. I have never signed a contract with them. I will now be filing a complaint with the state auditor as well. This company owes me roughly $400 dollars at this point and are scamming people constantly based on their other reviews. I'll explain this in the simplest of concepts. 1's and 0's. If I drive to the store "as has happened twice now in the past 3 weeks, the following has occurred en route. Pass, pass....(turn off car, go inside for 20 minutes return to car FAIL) wait on countdown PASS. +1+1-1+1. What does this equal? A Pass, most people with half a brain would conclude. Not InterLock. It's a 5 days til lockout and another $75.00. Thus, another $150.00 I've been forced to pay. This is just for starters. If you contest they'll tell you once reset, they'll analyze the data and advise. When you contact them they'll transfer you a couple times, and frankly will never answer the question. Shady billing practices to say the least. Sometimes you get a bill reminder and sometimes you dont. Their equipment dependability is poor.. Batteries die and they try to to bill you for the reset. Avoid. I requested hardship pricing since I'm on social security. Nationwide agreed. I had to send them my social award letter, etc . It takes per Nationwide 4 days after interlock installed, before I can go the dmv to apply for my license. So, my wife drove after we had it installed to home depot. Approximately 2 miles down the road, the car shut down! Lock out! 8 minutes after starting car and moving. Thank God she was on a side road! Cars were blowing horns, and she was almost rear ended! Later that night we went to Walmart. Same thing happened! 2.8 miles down the road the car shut off. We had car cars blowing horns, and we barely made it to a side road. This happened 3 times in 24 hours. This was a very dangerous situation I tried explaining to the manager, but she said they wouldn't authorize it to be removed unless we paid the removal fee of Approximately $385, even though Nationwide agreed to waive the installation fee because I am low income,they want there $385 regardless of my financial hardship NOW, and my wife couldn't drive with this dangerous device on my car. We were basically forced to pay in order to have device removed. It was clear it was way to dangerous to drive with this device installed. read more

This company is the worst I've ever dealt with. You have gone through so much to restore license and in Michigan a interlock is required to regain privileges. Nationwide uses your situation to pray on your wallet with fictional drummed up fees. If your doing everything by the book they will still drum up reasons for you to pay ridiculous amount bogus fees. If you get a DUI, your best bet is to go with the SCRAM ankle monitor. These people are thieves, they will try to lock you out of your car for any given reason. I was told I had no removal charge by the installer, the moment I scheduled my removal which I was on hold for an hour and a half, they representative told me it was a $150 removal charge pulse my monthly payment. This is insane, I highly recommend not to get this in your car they will rob you blind. read more

You cannot setup monthly auto payments since they charge you every 28 days. (14 "monthly" payments over a 12 month year, seems illegal.) They also raised the prices without sending me any correspondence... I found out by receiving a text stating I had a $10.73 balance, over 3 weeks after I made a payment. There is nowhere to view any account info/balances. The pay process is a nightmare. The device drains your battery slowly, so make sure you start and drive your vehicle every other day at worst. I've had to jump my car almost a dozen times and half of those times have been after buying a new battery for my vehicle. Only positive feedback is about my service center technician, he's been great, and Makaela from the customer service team, she's been timely with responding. I can't say I would recommend Nationwide if you have other options nearby. read more

I have been without a license for 10 years and in December 2022 I was finally given the opportunity to drive again with the condition I get an interlock device. The device itself from nationwide works like it's supposed to but the customer service and billing department /managers are completely unreasonable, unorganized, and more importantly unprofessional. The accounting team will send you texts stating your bill is hundreds more than it actually is because they're so unorganized. Within the last few months I was let go from my job and called nationwide on 12/29/23 to get an extension to pay my bill in full on 1/3/24 when some money hits my account as I'm scheduled to come for a calibration on 1/2/24 but must be at 0$ or else they will refuse to calibrate my device resulting in vehicle immobilization. The manager was so cold, condescending, and rude to me telling me "listen 95% of Americans are struggling you aren't the only one" says the lady with a job. She then proceeded to chastise me by condescendingly explaining to me that "you're leasing a product from us what do you ok expect to happen when you don't pay? No service! Imagine what would happen if you didn't pay your car lease, the repo man will be coming." Well UNLIKE NATIONWIDE the finance company for my vehicle has been very understanding of my situation and has deferred my payments 4 months so I can keep a roof over my head due to financial hardship. I didn't ask for anything free I simply asked for more time to pay LITERALLY AN EXTRA DAY so my car could be calibrated and to prevent my vehicle from being immobilized as I USE my vehicle to DoorDash and make ends meet and supplement my income during this hard time in my life. The only solution offered was "should we schedule a removal?" Why the heck would I schedule a removal and risk you sending a violation to the Secretary of State and lose my license all over again?! This place is not in the business to help people they are in the business to scam you out of hundreds of dollars if you're late on payments or can't afford your bill. They're simply in it for the money and care ZERO about their customers. They have no issue letting you know via text you're bill is past due, or they won't service you unless your bill is at 0$ but refuses to send you a reminder text that your bill is due on the due date they have in their system for that month to prevent you from incurring a late fee, simply because they want you to incur late fees. They state it's the customers responsibility to know when their bill is due, and refuse to send monthly reminders with your bills due date as the due date changes every month because they shadily bill every 28 days when it states in the contract it's 30 days. Thank god my 1 year is up and as soon as I start working I will be able to afford to get an attorney and get their equipment removed from my vehicle for GOOD! I will be taking my complaint to the better business bureau and will also be having my attorney overlook the service contract because the math ain't mathing. Go to smart start in Madison heights where the machine is 30% cheaper per month and they're much more understanding if you're facing financial hardship. If you need an interlock device I would recommend ANY OTHER COMPANY other than Nationwide. I have had to replace my car battery twice because their device drains your battery. On top of that when your battery dies you need to pay them for a reset. I was on hold for 3 HOURS over 2 days (they have a call back feature which also takes forever and is hard when your at work and on the phone), the first day they said they couldn't help me because the garage I used was closed. Didn't take my monthly payment, that was after 2 hours on hold. I called the next day, was on hold again for over an hour and then they charged me a $50 late fee. They will nickel and dime you all day. If you pay one day after your due date it's $50. I have given them so much extra money over my monthly bill it's ridiculous. In addition when you go in for a calibration it should only take 15-20 minutes, they did a software upgrade a little while back and my service center is constantly having to call them for help because the software doesn't work. I've spent 45 minutes to an hour getting my calibration due to this. Save yourself the headache and find someone else. read more

Overall I had a good experience with Nationwide. I had several issues with defective devices in the beginning, but the company worked with me to get it all taken care of. I'll note that the mechanics commented that they had never seen these issues in the 10 years they've been installing and maintaining them, so I don't think it's typical to have to go through the hoops I did. After only four months, I had two false positive alcohol readings which cost me my driving license for nine months and $1,600 in legal fees. I would give ZERO STARS if I could. First of all, I don't even know how I wound up with them. Moved from MO to TN and was fine paying my Missouri company through a Draeger shop in TN. They have hidden fees out the ass. And late fees when your not late. Rescheduling fees just for being early. They set your date out at least 6 months-who knows what they will be doing in 6 months? When I got my interlock removed from my car, they did not properly uninstall the interlock device. At first, my car wouldn't start after not driving it for a day or so, so I called them and they said it can't be something they did without listening to what was actually wrong or seeming to care. My s/o and friends told me I was probably just leaving a light on but I never do that, but i just believed them.... I just moved to arizona (I was waiting to get this interlock removed before moving) and got a remote job and this kept happening and seemed to be worse. After buying a new battery, and the issue was reoccurring, my s/o looked at the wiring and noticed they didn't remove the splice into the starter wire and just tied the wires together and hid it under the carpet. This was draining my cars battery every day and whenever it sat for a day it wouldn't start. I now have to hire an electrical car mechanic to rewire my car, not to mention the $200 battery I bought. The dudes working in the shop are not auto mechanics and don't know what they're doing. Don't let them mess up your car like they did to mine!!! read more

Although your search to find an interlock devise company to keep you out of jail / sanctioned, this one (along with all others) is NOT going to help. Within 2 months of having the unit installed I had to have the hand-held portion replaced and then again 1 month after that the same thing happened! They told me it was from "defective" equipment that they provided to me! My very serious concern at that point was what was probation department of the great County of Oakland going to think, as well as the Secretary of State! Nationwide would NOT put it in writing that I had not only 1 but 2 defective devices installed in my vehicle! The probation dept. looked at it as a "violation" and considered me "guilty" of having alcohol in my system. But it gets better.....I then had the cord go bad! Again, Nationwide would NOT put that in writing! And why not you may ask? Because this is what they can and will continue to do without any repercussions! If the State of Michigan knew that this is how they operate, they would lose their license(s) that keeps them screwing over all of us that are just trying to do the rite thing! I know it is expensive (but so is additional probation and jail time) but if you can, just Uber / Lyft it everywhere, until your probationary period is over and / or you no longer have to blow into these things like a Circus Animal! Lastly (and I hope you all at Nationwide are reading this) when you go in there, bring you phone and hit "record"! I did! Now I am in the process with my lawyer, the BBB, and the State of Michigan to prove what this company is doing! Good Luck everyone! Overall my experience with Nationwide was very good! I feel somethings could have been better explained in the initial discussion but after that the customer service was excellent. I called a few time with some major issues and they talked me through everything. They honestly made me feel like they cared and were concerned with my situation. When I called to tell them that I was granted my license back Holly gave me a "Woohoo" and congratulated me. They have some of the best customer service people I've ever had to deal with.
