iF YOU CHOOSE TO GO HERE, SHOP AROUND BEFORE YOU GIVE THEM MONEY!! The doctor is really good, That's why I've gone back. I just had my 3rd visit. They take my insurance, so I went there. They are NOT helpful choosing frames which I thought was a little "lazy"; I've been other places that were super helpful (is it just me that needs help?) My husband has told me that he's gotten great service and the price is way cheaper at Costco WITHOUT THE INSURANCE!! Why did I go back here? I don't know. So, I went back, year #3. I took 2 frames that were from last year and the year before (from their store!) and just asked them to put lenses in them. WITH my insurance AND MY frames it was $775!! YES, that's correct. Then, they called me to tell me THEY BROKE BOTH of my frames and apparently I signed a WAIVER so they are not responsible! They said that this could happen EVEN IF YOU BUY A NEW FRAME FROM THEM!! THEY DO NOT COMPENSATE YOU FOR THEM BREAKING YOUR FRAMES!! LITERALLY I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS.... So, went to COSTCO. 2 brand new frames AND great lenses (all the same upgrades) AND GREAT SERVICE....$285. I was so angry they broke 2 pair of frames but now I'm glad they did! Saved me almost $500! If they had offered me $100 or let me choose 2 new frames from the store I would have stayed. THEY HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER--AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE--OVER THIS. By the way, I asked at Costco what their policy is if they break the frames. They will compensate you or let you choose new frames. We had an appointment for three weeks then few days before the appointment. We get a notice saying that our appointments been canceled. Even though we have confirmed through a text that the appointment was good. When I call and ask what happened. They say someone else is in our slot and we have to move out a few more weeks. This is not the first time this has happened. We will never use this Nationwide again. read more

Told the eye technician doing the exam that I could not do the air pressure test. She did it on me anyways without my knowledge or consent. I refused to do the other eye on that machine and she said oh wow. That was her response. There was not a mix up in communication cause I was clear . I will not be going back ever again. read more

Been going to this company for 20 yrs. Half down in ahwatukee and the other half PV. PV office had a revolving door for staff. The Dr was the same. As time went on I realized I was being scammed by the Dr. It hit me that my vision was fine and I did not need contacts. Yet my insurance kept paying. My last visit was the end. He was ruining my vision for the sake of kickbacks. He diddled the numbers for the five years I had seen him. Never went back. if I could give them a big fat ZERO I would. I made my appt 1 month ago, confirmed it w my insurance. I drive an HR to get to my appt. Then they tell me I'm not covered. they say they tried to call me BS~NO CALL AT ALL on my phone for days prior. The manager Theresia & the office staff Sandra would NOT go out if their way to verify my insurance, so I called & still even though the women verified on phone I was covered, she says I WAS covered YES.. All way down from eye exam to glasses there was not a start date. they said they can't help me because of this and that I would pay $400 out of pocket, no sorry for inconvenience "NOTHING" they were gossiping & extremely rude women who should NEVER work IN customer service. I called Americas Best & they pulled up same information and could take my insurance So, don't tell me I couldn't be done. NO ONE DESERVES TREATMENT LIKE THIS! I left a huge complaint to my insurance & women who spoke with Sandra at my insurance stated I was covered but she wouldn't listen to her, Sandra was very rude to her as I can attest to I was right there. Sandra stated she didn't want to "deal" with it, prior to taking the call from my insurance. Also sandra gave me back the phone within a few min of talking w my insurance & said she couldn't understand the lady's English talk about discrimination! This place was pretty amazing I had gone to Walmart superstore vision center to get my glasses and altogether it cost me over $450, whereas my husband went to nationwide vision center and his over all glasses which were about the same as mine is far as the prescription goes was a $125 less than what I paid for so, needless to say I will from now on be going to nationwide vision center for my glasses read more

Pretty bad experience here. They'll literally sit around and talk about lunch instead of helping you. You have to ask someone for something there even though it's a small office and quite obvious when someone walks in. Staff is unfriendly and failed to inform me that my yearly insurance did not kick in till mid-year before my appointment. As a result, I paid out of pocket even though I filled out 20 minutes worth of paperwork beforehand. Sure, they apologized but I am the one who was out money even though I have insurance. Doctor prescribed daily contacts and I hate them -- they won't change them even though I have worn monthly contacts before? Weird experience. Will avoid moving forward. Edit: The assistant manager helped me rectify some of the last part of my review. I appreciate her help but I still have a bad taste in my mouth for this place. I would give a zero star if I could. I couldn't recommend these folks to my worst enemy. My husband and I went in to have exams and get glasses. Wait times are unbelievable. For starters the assistant came in and told us about some test we really needed to have but it wouldn't be covered under insurance. A little expensive but no problem, we want to take good care of our eyes. But when we get into the optometrist he tells us the machine is down but we don't really need the test anyway. He also told me that he could fix the machine but he just really didn't have the time. Made me feel really important - NOT! I had multiple questions because I was considering contacts - but he made it clear he didn't have time for small talk. He was rude and obviously way to busy for me. My husband said he was the same with him. Then we ordered our glasses - even with insurance they were horrifically expensive. We made an appointment to go pick them up. At first they couldn't find them but finally did. Unbelievably they put my husbands lenses in my frames and totally lost mine. Who does that!!! Through all of this they never even apologized for being so incredibly unprofessional - acted like we should be grateful for all they do. A couple of the assistants were nice, albeit more into chatting with each other than taking care of us but the others were snotty and condescending. It was an experience I have never had before and definitely hope I never have again. It was almost TV show worthy how bad they were. Stay away!! read more

My husband HAD to go to Nationwide because his insurance company said so. He only went there for glasses because he has to go to an Ophthalmologist because he has glaucoma, so he gets his script form his doctor. So, we went to Nationwide in Prescott Valley, AZ, pick out some frames, with no help from the sedentary staff and they send them off to their lab in NEW JERSEY! They said they had merge with another company and they had to use their lab. We had to send them back THREE times because the lenses kept popping out. They blamed it on the frames after the second time, so we picked out a rounder one and, wait for it, when the glasses came in the THIRD time, the manager checked to see if they were okay and the lens pop right out! The FOURTH time, the district manager called the lab and requested a Supervisor do the work. When they came in the manager checked them again and they were fine. We live an hour and a half from Prescott Valley, so we requested they be sent to us via UPS. Of course, when we got them, they needed to be leveled up. I have gone to Wal-mart Vision for past 5 years and NEVER had a problem, so I told my husband to stop by there and ask then to fix him up. When they looked at the lenses, they said the grinding of lenses was somewhat poor, but hey fixed him up and so far the lenses have not popped out. I am SO glad that my husband is on my insurance and can now go to the Wal-Mart Vision center. Actually, when I got my glasses last year from Wal-Mart, they called to tell me it was going to take a little longer to get my glasses because they weren't satisfied with how they fit in the frames and need to re-grind the lenses. Now THAT is how it is suppose to be. I do give kudos to the District Manager for Nationwide who stuck with it and got my husband his glasses. On another note...when Nationwide calls you, the Caller ID comes up as "Cardiac Care"....really? I asked them why they didn't get it changed and they simply said it was a number that used to be "Cardiac Care" and they couldn't change it. Say what?!!! Terrible, terrible, terrible experience.
