Such a great atmosphere & the food was delicious! They have such warm and friendly staff and we can't wait to go back again.

This was a difficult review to make because the while the food was fantastic, there were some things that were just 'off' for us. Nosh is located across from Geva which is a decent spot and good for people watching. The drinks were pricey for small craft cocktails and the beer selection was varied but small. You had to order the bread ($5) and it was huge. Very good but huge for 2 people. Why don't they have a smaller size for 2? We ended up taking the rest home which I've never done with bread before. I found the menu a bit limited and ended up ordering the beef tacos and my husband got the pork chop. Although I told my waitress i wanted my tacos as a main meal, they came out way early. When I said something I was told they came out when they are ready. Basically, too bad. My husband finally got his pork chop and he did say it was one of the best he ever ate. My tacos were also really, really good. We decided we'd go back in the summer, eat at the bar or outside and try it again. I suggest you go for drinks and order apps at the bar. read more

Went here for dinner before walking around Jazzfest. The patio is perfect to sit out and eat or they have tables just for cocktails while your waiting for your table. Bartender was very friendly he let me try the sangria since it was watermelon-it was good but too sweet for me, I went with the Pino Grigio which was perfect. My husband ordered the halibut it was delicious, and it stayed hot, which is important for fish it gets cold so fast. I got the tacos which are served on corn tortillas, also delicious. They had a small guitar band and the music was not too loud. We loved it. read more

Very friendly welcome, best Cosmo I've had in ages, warm delicious bread with delicious butter and roasted garlic on the side (incredible), panko crusted chicken and salad were perfect, came with wonderful dressings. Server was very nice! Perfection! read more

Spent $17 on a veggie burger that was listed on the menu that it came with fresh cut fries but when the waiter came over he informed me that don't serve fries for lunch. I paid $3 extra dollars for a side salad to come with me meal besides the chips and it literally can in a small tea cup it was about to bit of salad. This place is over priced and absolutely not worth your time going there. read more

Have been 2 times now. The first was really in the first week they opened, so it was good, bu not great....so we wanted to come back. I am so glad we did. The pizza was surprisingly awesome. Seriously different and delicious. The burger was perfectly cooked, although the fries were warm at best. The soup was outstanding. Drinks were fun and very different. Dessert was amazing. Tried Native this past weekend and was very impressed. They are brand new so they only have a limited menu while they perfect everything. However, everything we ordered was delicious! And we basically ordered one of everything on the menu! We started with the pizza (amazing crust!), the gnocchi (I wish the gnocchi to veg ratio was greater), and the Charcuterie (amazing!). Next course was the Arctic Char (nice crust on the fish), burger, and chowder (huge chunks of lobster!). It was very apparent that the ingredients were fresh (and I know they are almost all local) and prepared with a lot of care. I will definitely be back! read more

Please!! These people act like they are doing you a favor by allowing you to dine at their establishment. I am not sure how to begin the horrible experience that I had at this place. This was my third attempt at trying to give this place a try and in my book, three strikes and you are out!! My friend and I sat at the bar and she ordered a glass of wine and lettuce wraps (tasteless and wilted) and I ordered a glass of Cab and decided to try the chicken cutlet that also allows you to order over salad. KEEP ALL THIS IN MIND. I ordered the cutlet over the Native salad (which has been different all three times i have ordered it). These simple plates took 22 minutes to arrive! The bartender/SO called manager told me that the chef indicated that this would no longer be allowed if I wanted to order it again. At this point, I think my head spun around. This item is on the menu but with a different salad I said. The bartender proceeded to argue with me and said "Hey I am just the messenger"......wait, I thought you said that you were a manager. This stupid and unprofessional request from the kitchen was just an example of someone having a bad day! The staff is rude and extremely arrogant! The food is sub-par at best! Last time I checked the customer drives your business and pays you as well. If a simple request of putting a already prepared chicken cutlet over lettuce puts your staff out (better rethink another career). This owner also owns Label 7 but based upon this experience I will not be trying that restaurant any time soon. One final thought, when your staff fabricates words that I used to describe my frustration........time for a change. Look up the word "leadership" and follow it! These people have no clue how to deal with people and keep customers. Way too many other great places to go in this town. They will not be around a year from now with their attitudes and lack of customer service skills! read more

If yelp allowed for it, this would probably be a 3.75, but, very close to a 4. This was our first visit here and we came on Friday, January 11th at 7:00pm. There were multiple tables open, but mostly full, including the large bar where each seat was taken. Atmosphere - we liked the overall vibe here. It was spacious and had the more "Modern American/Industrial" style to it (if that's a thing). Nice, large bar and plenty of seating for dining. Service - We were sat right at the time of our reservation and our server followed soon after with water. They give you a carafe of water and once it was empty, our server made sure another was on its way. She was very attentive the entire dinner. Drink - They seemed to have about a dozen beers on tap and they did a nice job with the selection, making sure to have multiple styles with a decent craft beer selection. We didn't order a cocktail or any wine, but that selection seemed nice as well. Food - We started with the sweet potato filled empanadas. My wife liked them. I didn't think they had the "crunch" you would expect from an empanada and the flavor was okay but nothing special. I had the Steak & Frites and it was cooked medium rare as I had asked. There was a nice sear on the steak, so it had nice flavor on its own, but they also had an herbed butter on the steak and little demi-glace on the side if you wanted any more flavor. The fries were good but could have been crispier. My wife ordered the Cioppino and really liked everything. Overall, we liked the restaurant. Although the overall menu selection is somewhat small, most things sounded interesting to us, so we will certainly come back and try a few more. They had two specials along with the daily "Butchers Cut" special when we came. We thought the prices made sense for the area and style of restaurant it is. $28.00 for a seafood dish including mussels, scallops and a fish seems normal, and $24 for a flank steak and fries is what I would expect as well. read more

We came here for NYE dinner and although was mostly satisfied with food and service, one menu item was very poorly executed to the point that we could not eat it. It was a main course of lobster and pappardelle. The pasta was not edible, it was too thick and not cooked properly. The lobster pieces were very small, tiny shreds of lobster. The whole dish was very poorly executed and served in a soup bowl. As a main dish of our dinner that was very disappointing. I have to say that another entree that was part of 5 course menu was excellent, it was a duck, which was prepared very well. read more

The atmosphere here is fun with plenty of room. The food has much to be desired. We were there for lunch and I ordered a turkey sandwich with no onion .... my order came out with onions; my lunch friend ordered a burger and it came out cold with the roll charred. In order to receive condiments, we had to flag down another person after waiting a long time; a second glass of wine was ordered and we had to flag down our server to get the wine, again after waiting a significant amount of time. Same with paying our bill. The restaurant was not crowded at all. This place has potential, but the kitchen and service staff need to step up their game in order to help this place succeed. I love the location and having a new restaurant in Rochester, but the quality of service and food needs to improve, in my opinion. read more

Stopped into Native after seeing an early show at the Jazz festival. No one was at the hostess desk, walked around the bar then back to hostess desk. Someone was finally there. They asked for our full name and phone number and I quote "in case I lose you we will call your phone when your table is ready" about a 15/30 min wait. Went to bar to wait and have a drink, bar is about 20 feet away. Hope he doesnt 'loose' us...Ordered a mojito and cosmo. Bartender started to make my cosmo and proceeded to break the glass into a couple's food at the bar. Then my husband started to drink his mojito and said omg this is the worst drink I've ever had. I tried it, yup he was right. Tasted like a glass of spearmint toothpaste. Yuck. Horrible. So we sat and waited to be called, and waited and waited. One hour later no one came to get us. And we are still waiting for that call!? Worst experience in a long time. #seinfeldepisodeevening. read more

Let me say, first, that I was so hoping the food would be good, because I absolutely loved the decor...comfortable chairs, not too loud, beautiful windows, a lovely patio. Our server was very nice and tried hard to please.There were six of us...four ordered burgers and two ordered pizza. After quite awhile, our food came. The pizzas were literally black...not just blackened a little on the edges...I mean the crust was black! They should have been ashamed to let them leave the kitchen. The burgers, on the other hand, were nearly raw, despite the fact that we ordered them medium. The sever called the manager over and he said that the burgers looked a little too rare, but the pizza is supposed to be like that. He said that this is the way the chef makes it. He offered to take the food back and bring new meals...it took another 30 minutes before we got our food! And one of the pizzas was still black! He didn't offer us a dessert or coffee or anything to make up for our inconvenience or how long we had to wait. We will not return. read more

Went to Native last week with a group of friends. When we arrived the doors to the patio were open allowing us to enjoy the early spring evening. The ambiance is wonderful with great lighting and comfortable banquette seating! There is a sense of intimacy even though it is a large space. The wait staff was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about food and drink. We ordered several menu items and shared everything as a table. I loved the menu and the creative choices with lots of classics. The salads and pizza were outstanding as was the taco! Drinks were delivered quickly and were well made and generous in size! We all kept raving about the food as each new dish arrived at the table. Having been big Label7 fans we are thrilled that Ross and his team are expanding their creative talents downtown! The restaurant is a winner with great food, service and ambiance. Can't wait for summer to dine on the expansive outdoor deck. read more

We went to Native Eatery for the first time at lunch time on 4/19/19. We were impressed by how large and attractive the restaurant is. Only a few tables were occupied, so we were very surprised by the poor service we experienced. Our server was pleasant and helpful whenever she appeared. Fortunately we were not in a hurry because it took forever for our meals to be prepared. By the time we were served, we were wondering whether or not we should check if there was a problem in the kitchen! However, I must add that our food was excellent. Our guests were delighted with their berry salads, and another person said the house burger was very good. We all were feeling satisfied and ready to leave, but the server never reappeared with the check. My husband had to get up and look for someone to take his money. Even at that, there was a long wait. This experience was not the way we had hoped to show our visitors how things are done in Rochester. read more
