This place opened in 2006 with Target, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, Old Navy, Sports Authority, Sam's…read moreClub, Linens-N-Things, BevMo!, Cost Plus World Market, Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse, ULTA and Pier 1 Imports. It brought new options to shop at in Natomas and a smile to my face, but also brought in more traffic to the already congested intersection of Truxel Road & Gateway Park Boulevard where Natomas Marketplace is. The plus side was that it extended North Freeway Boulevard from were it used to dead end right through the shopping center to Gateway Park Boulevard. Kind of a back exit/entrance of sorts and to avoid all that traffic from Truxel. The place also had (and still has) an outdoor village area with shops typically found in shopping malls. It included Aeropostale, American Eagle Outfitters, Anchor Blue, Claire's, Journeys, Lids, PacSun and Tilly's. When the recession hit, Linens-N-Things was one of the first to go, as it went out of business. Then, in an unprecedented move, Sam's Club closed down. Luckily these spaces have been filled by Bed Bath & Beyond, Ashley Furniture and Burlington. The outdoor village didn't fare as well. Anchor Blue went out of business, then, over the years, AE, Lids, PacSun, Aeropostale, Journeys, Claire's, and, recently, Tilly's all closed down, leaving it a virtual ghost town and utter disappointment in my face. Others that have departed included OfficeMax, Pier 1, Qdoba, Starbucks (in the outdoor village area, not the one inside Target) Johnny Rockets and Mimi's Cafe. Despite all the departures from this huge shopping center, it still has a decent selection of stores and places to eat, with Target and Best Buy being the ones I frequent the most.

This shopping center is.... a promenade at the gateway of Natomas. Check out the website!…read more It's my poor mapping skills, I guess, that I get lost almost every time I drive in this appendage of Sacramento that once used to be rural lands. I know this is true, because I've often seen jackrabbits hopping through parking lots and construction sites. I've seen the fog rolling across the fields and the 80. What we lack in signage we gain in variety. Best Buy, BevMO, Buffalo Wild Wings. Tilly's, Target, Tokyo Steakhouse. And now open, Burlington Coat Factory and Panda Express. Latest news, as of the Summer of 2013, the sprawling shopping plaza is hosting a farmer's market. Saturdays, 8 a.m. to noon. Good job, Natomas, keeping your fair citizens away from downtown!

Is Arden Fair my favorite mall? No, but it is close to where I live and always gets the job done!…read more Arden Fair is a big sized mall with plenty of parking - it obviously gets pretty busy on the weekends and especially around the holidays! When I visit, I usually stop into stores like Claire's, Foot Locker, Hot Topic, Lush, Macy's and Sephora. They also have a Miniso, Pandora, Spencer's, Coach and a brand new Pop Mart - just to name a few! Their food court is pretty decent offering Charley's Phillysteaks, Taco Bell, Panda Express and even Sbarro. They also offer different places to eat and grab drinks around the mall such as Cinnabon (my family's personal favorite), Jamba Juice, Wetzel's Pretzels and Hot Dog on a Stick. Santa and the Easter Bunny even visit for photos during their respected holidays! Overall, I'm not really sure what to say about the value, each business is differently priced obviously depending on where you go and the service is the same. I tend to only come to Arden Fair Mall when I need something specific and try my best to get in and out!

Feels like this place has been ghosted! Kinda like the NewPark Mall in Newark, CA. Look it up for…read morefunsies...it's been dead for a while. Was never really all that great unless you were a nearby teenager who thought it was sooooooooo cool to cruise the mall back in the day. Well it's no longer back in the day so I cruised the mall at lunchtime on a weekday! (wut up *gang sign*) At present, being lunchtime on a weekday, the parking lot is less than 20% full so park like a dork and take up three spaces with your nifty Honda if you want. Short walk to the front doors and there's an automatic slide door on the right as you enter the main set of doors. Service was fine. There's an Apple store for the fruity folks and trust me when I say go on a weekday at lunch time for no wait. It's true. Selection is getting thinner and thinner. Amazon is winning the war and it shows. Value...was there ever really a value coming to the mall? Delinquent youths aside, the value was partially social when this existed as an actual destination. And trust me, you can find it cheaper on Amazon...delivered to your door.
