When I walked in I was instantly greeted by Nurain. She was wiping clean the leaves of a monstera plant which I've never seen an employee do while in a nursery. She was so sweet and helpful and made me feel like I was being heard. Nurain helped me and my friend find everything we needed and was such a pleasure to be around. Lovely neighborhood plant store and bonus for being Black-owned. Love the service here. Always attentive, always professional, knowledgeable and great variety lovely products all very organized by plant type/light needs, with super easy and clear information on care. BONUS: Some staff have even given me impromptu discounts on some of their plants in the back rooms that may be in need of TLC etc and also free grower containers that they're throwing away anyway. Surprisingly, this small business is still around! I like to support small businesses in my neighborhood but sometimes I have to take my money elsewhere. This business is so unreliable, unprofessional and irresponsible - tried many times (both locations) via phone calls and online internet inquiries to get someone to assist with my landscaping requests and they have not yet returned my phone calls and responses to my online inquiries. I kept calling back and every time I received the same response - "may I have your name and number and the manger will call you back to set- up an appointment and to further discuss your landscaping inquiries" I am still waiting! So neighbors, be aware and be careful with this business as you prepare your gardens, planters, window boxes, yards for the Summer. There are so many more HUGE businesses in Brooklyn that will give you FIRST CLASS service that we all deserve. Happy Summer! read more

My friend recommended this place , as we're both plant enthusiasts. Came here and fell in love . Friendly associates , he also repotted all our plants for us that we bought. I got a beautiful Cordyline which was my first time seeing it, couldn't leave without it . Me and my friend also split another plant (which he gladly did for us) .. we easily spent a hour in here . Natty Garden had a surprisingly high number of plants to select from along with mulch, fertilizer and pots ranging in size from baby to gigantic. I stopped in to pick up some mosquito control and a couple basil plants. They have two rooms of plants and thank goodness I biked there or I would have come home with more plants. I do plan to go back as I repot and purchase sone larger plastic containers. I wish there was more vegetable inventory but they have a good selection of herbs to choose from. All in all it's a solid plant store for those in Crown Heights and Bedstuy. read more

I want to support this garden, especially since it's near my home, and I love plants! But inside the store, the mood is tense and rigid. The young lady who checks out customers has a rude demeanor. I'm not trying to judge, but it seems she's friendlier with no blacks. This has happened a couple of times that I felt compelled to write this post. Provide training for the staff so they can reflect the positive and warm energy of your plants :) Customer service should be inclusive. read more

I've gone there and gotten beautiful plants- but I'm always in search of native plants and they never have them. It's ironic b/c I want to shop local and none of the local florists/gardening/landscaping shops have local plants. Native plants sequester, or remove, carbon from the air. They provide shelter and food for wildlife & what folks don't realize is a delicate NY ecosystem is just hanging on here. Native plants promote biodiversity and without them- we've seen a significant drop in pollinators since the city replaced them and we haven't been able to find them. Not to mention my allergies are better when we have them! So off to Home Depot I go. I hope they recognize the demand for native plants and order some Echinacea, Ostrich Fern, Yarrow, Milkweed and more next year. read more

I was super excited about this place.  Seemed perfect for filling out our greenhouse and back garden area in the neighborhood.  Unfortunately, they're sorely disorganized.  They can't get out of their own way.  They don't describe their products properly and they won't work with you if something isn't right.  They don't have consistent policies and they send mixed signals. I was more than ready to spend a lot of money with Natty Garden.  And as much as it pains me to say so, I will have to take that money out of the neighborhood and to a more ethical, reliable nursery.  This place needs to get their act together or they'll be replaced. read more

They have a decent selection of plants and I like how the plants were organized according to light needs. I also likes how they carry Happy Frog Potting Soil, which is sometimes hard to come by. Hope they expand to carry some other plant needs like stakes. Staff were more conversationalists rather than helpful. The responses to my questions they gave were more rushed and simplified than patient and understanding. read more

The store itself is great, and the plants they have for sale are also great (def on the expensive side). Yet the customer service was basically not existent. I told the two ladies working there that I was there 'to spend some serious money bc I wanted to redo our backyard and deck with a lot of potted plants' so I thought that one of them would have the customer service mind-set to help me figure out the best plants plus the pots, plus the soil etc to get this project kicked off. I've been to Natty Garden twice in the last few months and both times were nothing short of wonderful. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the plants are so LUSH. When visiting today, I was even able to get two custom bags of my favorite Fox Farms soil instead of having to lug the massive liter bag home with me. I'll definitely be back again as soon as I can stop myself from overspending my plant budget and am ready some new plants this fall. Love being able to support this local business as much as I can and will keep singing their praises to anyone who will listen! read more

A really positive experience at this shop! The woman who helped us was so kind and graciously allowed us to leave our purchases in the shop while we ran out to finish our shopping. Want to support them but no one is EVER there during their listed business hours. I've tried several times at their listed hours and no one is present or it's completely shut down. Some weekends included if it's raining. At least make a post on social notifying such changes of when they feel they want to open at their own convenience It takes no effort: especially if you want to retain customers.
