Four stars for consistency, good beer, and a great patio! Admittedly, Natty's is a little nostalgic for me. I used to come here when I was younger for the beer and weekend crowd, and now I'm back for a completely different reason: the kids' menu is a huge fan favorite with my kid. The buffalo chicken wrap is my go-to and still a favorite--although I swap the bleu cheese for shredded cheddar because, well... priorities. It's a solid spot to catch up with a friend over a beer or two, or pop in for a casual meal that your kid will actually be excited about. A win either way! read more

Been many years since I last visited Natty Greens, I enjoy their beer from time to time, or grab a six pack at the store, but haven't been to the brewpub in a long time. My wife and I were attending a show downtown, so decided to do dinner before. We were greeted by the hostess and seated quickly. The atmosphere is very laid back, but well decorated, and designed. They've got a great beer variety, offering a lot of different styles. And their food menu offers a selection of apps, sandwiches, burgers and salads. I ended up getting a chicken Philly with sweet potato fries, it was good, and the bun was stuffed full, but far too hot and too messy to try and eat with your hands. I ended up eating it with a fork and knife. The fries were cooked perfectly, just a slight crispiness to the outside and a soft filling inside. Pricing is a little bit on the high end, but the food quality is good. It's a nice spot, right in the heart of downtown, and they've good food and beer to offer. When it's not raining, they've got a beautiful beer garden on the side of the building you can enjoy a sunny day at. I'd definitely recommend this as a spot to visit if you're wanting to check out something local, while downtown! read more

Haven't been to Natty Green's for a few years. They have a great outside seating area but we decided to sit at the bar. Had a Mezcal old fashion which really rang my bell. Never thought about making an old fashion with tequila but it totally worked For dinner we had Big Time (Rueben) and wife had Bahn-Mi (Asian - Soy, ginger marinated pork). Stopped in for a flight and a beer after checking out the downtown. We sat at the bar. I had the Guilford Golden Lager, while my wife had the Buckshot Amber Ale. I'm not sure if it's because we didn't also order food, but the server didn't really seem to care about us. I had to flag him down to place the order and then later to get water. He never came back on his own, even when glasses were getting empty. Not sure if we would've ordered more, but again, never had the chance. First time checking out NGB, and it was a mostly good experience. I like the vibe of the place. Large, open and spread out interior (giggity), with a patio area outside with beer garden, and the booth we sat at was quite clean. The service was fine; nothing too impressive but nothing really to complain about either. I got the beermosa, which seemed a unique item to me. It was refreshing and did indeed taste like a mimosa with beer. My Carolina dog and fries were tasty with excellent texture to the fries as well. Prices are high, though. We did have a dog with us, so we didn't go inside, but there was enough outdoor seating that we were able to sit and enjoy our meal. The staff even brought out a water bowl for the dog to enjoy - that was so sweet and thoughtful. We ordered the Twisted Bavarian pretzel - it was huge and delicious! I ordered the Black & Blue burger with sweet potato fries and BBQ sauce - it was really tasty. Since we went for dinner and it was a beautiful night outside, the patio lighting over the seating area and the foot/road traffic was busy, the evening was lovely. Visited 26 SEP I have intentionally waited and thought about this for a few days. Upfront, I am over 60, I have travelled the world, been to Michelin places, and eaten cold MRE's in the rain. Natty Greene's is likely a good place, I just don't think it is for me. I wish them much continued success over the years. I am willing to accept that our visit on the back end of the lunch hours on a Friday may not be their premium "game time". I would suspect they don't have the A-team on during this shift, prepping for big Friday night/weekend (not far from Greensboro college). Most of the people we saw in the restaurant and walking the streets were in the 18-40 range. There are some positives for sure. It is on a corner lot of a busy downtown area, they have a patio and big open spaces indoors. I didn't go upstairs but likely same open inviting space. The decorations are minimal but fit the space. The furnishings are nice, clean and good lines. I am not a fan of the casual, bar t-shirt, wear whatever staff "uniform". I think it lends an air of less dedication to the service ethic, feels lazy. It is as if some students ran over from an afternoon lab to make a few tips for weekend drinking (nothing wrong with that, been there, done that). The food is okay. My Black & Blue burger was average. There was nothing wrong with it, but there was nothing about it to support the price point. The bun could have been toasted, the mushrooms and cheese crumbles (if any) was a soggy mush under the patty. I would have mushroom (with more texture/less moisture) under and crumbles on top. It was a good enough sandwich, but again, at the price point, I wasn't "satisfied". My wife got the Natty Melt, again average. She has been getting that sandwich at various new places we have been visiting since retirement and this one was in her bottom half. The fries were okay, not quite hot/fresh. The presentation/plating for both meals was underwhleming for a $50.00 lunch. [I set bun aside for photo, came out like school lunch] The service was okay, a bit lackluster and non-engaged, but did nothing wrong and got the job done. I can't say we wouldn't give this place another shot, maybe evening with a table of people or something. It just seems more like a socializing, party sort of place, rather than a sit down serious meal option. I met up with a friend on a Friday night. It was packed outside, but not in. I waited about 5 minutes before a host appeared. Our server was very sweet. Super friendly. We decided to order cocktails and appetizers while we debated on our entrees. I ordered a Manhattan, and friend got a Tequila Sunrise. My drink wasn't blended well at all, and he didn't care for his cocktail either. We got the blistered shishito peppers, and skewered shrimp. There was nothing special about the peppers. With or without the dipping sauce served with it. It tastes like regular green peppers. The shrimp was decent, yet nothing special either. Met up with our family that we hadn't seen in years at this awesome pub that was perfect for all of us. There were 4 kids in our group (very cute and adorable little cousins), adults that would love to have a nice drink and grandparents/uncles that just wanted to hang out. All this to say, this checked all the boxes for us and it was the perfect spot to come to on a super hot Saturday summer afternoon and we loved hanging out at the outdoor area while everyone stayed inside cooling off. They had fans, cozy couches and we had the whole area to ourselves so my little cousins could play, run and have a good time. I have been going to Nata greens ever since they opened 20+ years ago in downtown Greensboro. It has always been a nice brewery, and the food has gone up and down over the years. I am absolutely thrilled to say that my favorite item on the menu which is a turkey wrap with raspberry mayo is back on the menu. This is the only thing that I order there and it is spectacular! I get fries with ranch for my side and only eat half of the wrap, as this holds up super well is extremely filling and is great the next day. My updated review is a year overdue. My husband and I decided to give Natty's another try during last year's Folk Fest with the opening of the new Beer Garden. I'm loving some of the new brews I've tried over the past few visits, including the Yuzu Gose and the Juicy Love IPA. I enjoyed the deviled eggs and wings shared with friends during a recent birthday celebration and when we've discussed places to grab a casual bite to eat and a beer downtown, Natty's has been top of the list for my husband. I'm pleased that they've been consistent during return visits. The Elm Street Philly knocked it out of the park on our most recent visit. Natty Greene's has done well as a main stop in the Elm St downtown area. Plenty of good memories here ranging from their old Thursday deals to the new and improved NG. Their food has normally been consistent, and the Elm St Philly is always pleasant. Deviled eggs, Big Nasty and burgers are solid. From a recent visit, I can say their fries have improved. Those were sometimes a hit or miss from being soggy or worse, but that's because they seem to prepare them fresh. They've released classic beers over the years like the legendary Mighty Citra. I came to Natty greens recently for a late lunch. I got there around 1:30 and was pretty busy at that time. Once I walked in it was attended by the host that immediately sat us outside. It just happened to be pretty sunny at that time and spot and it was kinda hard for us to see the menu. I went back up to the host who come out and relocated us immediately to a more shaded spot. A server arrived and took our drink orders. I could tell that they were pretty busy at the time with all staff servers running around managing the workload . I did let her know that I had a little bit of a time constraint after realizing that I might be late to somewhere I had to be after lunch. She acknowledge and came back and kept us updated on our food and assured us that our food was put in immediately. I went ahead and had the Elm St. Philly with fries and the juicy IPA. Despite the fact they were super busy our drinks came out within a couple minutes and our food only took about 15 minutes. The Elm St. Philly came out on a tray with crispy seasoned fries and the sandwich being loaded with thinly sliced tender steak cheese and other toppings on a nicely toasted baguette style bun. I also like that it came out really hot to the point where you have to blow on it a little bit before taking a bite. It was so good and I only ate half the sandwich. Our server was prompt to come back and asked me if I needed to go box and check, knowing that I had to get out of there pretty soon. Natty Greene's is a sure bet in Greensboro. They are open 11am-11pm during the week, so it's early enough for lunch and stay open late enough for a drink in the evening. Perfect location and tons of draft beers on tap plus a fully stocked bar. Friendly, attentive but not intrusive servers are their entire vibe. I've eaten a bit of everything off their menu, but my personal favorite are the wings with the Natty's sauce and the Cajun fries. Natty Greenes has been one of my favorite spots for a good brew and bar food for a long time now. We stopped in one rainy Saturday night to grab some food and a couple beers with some family in town and it again did not disappoint. We had a fairly large party of about 10 and were seated relatively quickly which was great cause we were all ready for some food. I opted for the Natty Melt with fries this evening and was pretty good. Well seasoned burger with flavorful onions and dressing was perfect while washed down with a couple of pints of Guilford on tap. I do wish the burger fit the bread a little better as the edges on each side were essentially all bread with no burger, but still a dang good burger. If you're looking for good beer and some good food, look no further than Natty Greene's. The top floor also has a bar and additional seating if needed! read more

This is a two part review..... As a bar and casual bite, I give Natty Greene's a solid 4. I appreciate a place that knows its identity and sticks to it. It's consistent and dependable. Relaxed downtown vibe for watching a game or grabbing a burger. So why a second part to my review? Well, I just attended a work Christmas party there and I have to say.... I was pleasantly surprised. We had our private party on the third floor.... It was a great backdrop for a Christmas party with some tasteful decorations, in a hip old building with exposed brick and wood floors. The bar service was quick and friendly and the space was warm and inviting. The food was buffet style which is hard to get excited about but the beef tenderloin was so tender and cooked perfectly, I'm not sure how they pulled that off but everyone was talking about how good it was. My family went to Natty Greene's Brewpub for my oldest niece's high school graduation celebration. This is a very nice upscale brewery/restaurant in downtown Greensboro NC. When I walked in the restaurant, I noticed a beautiful ambiance and a huge bar to the right of the restaurant. We were going to the upstairs bar area, but it was not ready for us yet, so we waited outside on the patio. The outside patio is very nice with air fans spraying cold mist all over the place to cool people off, which I thought was very clever and unique. It is something I had never seen before. When the upstairs bar area was ready, we all went upstairs and sat at one of the long tables in the middle of the dining room. The upstairs bar area was huge and just as nice as the downstairs dining room. Our server greeted us and took our order. The menu was very diverse and had a great selection of sandwiches and burgers. We ordered a couple of appetizers for the table: the Big Nasty and deviled eggs. The deviled eggs were probably the best I have ever had in quite a while. The mustard in the eggs was perfect and had excellent combination of flavors. The texture of the deviled eggs was just right as well. The big Nasty was basically loaded nachos with black olives, onions, peppers, sour cream,.etc. It was good and tasty, but not my favorite. I ordered the Chobita sandwich for my entree which was a roasted pork loin sandwich. I had sweet potato fries as my side. The presentation was wonderful, but I thought it was different that the BBQ sauce was on top of the bread for the sandwich instead of in the sandwich with the roasted pork loin. This is something I had never seen before in any restaurant. It made the sandwich messy to eat , but it was still very good and the roasted pork loin was cooked just right. The sweet potato fries were awesome and very delicious! I could tell the restaurant takes pride in their food because everything was done to perfection. Our server did an excellent job taking care of our family and she was on top of everything. Natty Greene's Brewpub is a wonderful family place for food and drinks, and I can see why my brother likes to come here for dinner. It is a relaxed atmosphere to unwind and have a beer with friends. I met some friends for lunch at natty greens we finished eating and went to the bar to have a few beer, totally harmless right? However, a bartender named Zachery didn't care for the crap talk I was engaged in with another bar patron because it involved his favorlite college team, University of North Carolina, and me being a North Carolina State Fan immediately and unbruptly told me to get out after he slammed my check in front of me telling m to "get the fuck out". I have never experienced the amount of unprofessionalism at a bar in my life and I live in Charlotte and thats never an issue. so for him to get so mad over shit talk and proceed to kick me out of the bar when I wasn't acting erradic or causing issues was very surprisin. Zachary should not be in any roll when he faces customers on a day-to-day basis cause if he heres something the makes him mad his only love is to walk away and have someone else tell the customer to get out. I will never go back to natty greens, which was one of my favorite places in Greensboro to go, and I hope untill he is fired for being a shit bartender that no one one else will go there either. we all go to bars/restaurants to experience something and enjoy being outside of our homes and as long as bartender's like Zach are there people like that only diminish a business's value and reputation. he is the absolute poster boy for unprofessionalism and entitlement I have ever come across and he does not deserve to be slinging drinks as long as he is the way he is.
