I've finally made it to the Pig Pounder. I signed up for their 5K run which was such a fun event. It's a great establishment if you are looking for a laid back place with plenty of room to spread out. It's large and open, which makes it perfect for hanging out without feeling cramped. Their beer lineup is solid with something for anyone. Honestly, I wasn't a fan of their lager. It was alright. However in their lineup was a pilsner alongside several IPAs and other options. Overall, it is a cool brewery with a comfortable atmosphere. Will be back to break into their other beers. read more

Enjoyed an afternoon at Pig Pounder recently. We had hoped to get outside, and enjoy their back patio, but the weather wasn't going to permit that. Despite the weather, the interior is huge, and still plenty of room for having a good time. And getting together with friends.there is also some awesome art/murals painted all over the interior that need to be checked out. The staff is always friendly, and they offer a great selection of beer, something to fit everyone's taste. They don't serve food, but you are welcome to bring your own, and there are several great spots near by to even pick up from or have delivered. This is a must visit spot for beer lovers, and it is pet and kid friendly. read more

Pig Pounder is one of our favorite family hangouts! They offer a variety of adult beverages - beer, seltzers & wine too! The staff are always friendly and service is fast! They don't have a food menu so you can bring in your own snacks or meals too! Sometimes they have food trucks outside and live music which is super fun. There are games for kids & adults - from ping pong to board games and even a couple of vintage arcade games When the weather is nice they open their garage doors and there's a nice outdoor space in the back with corn hole and other games as well! Went here on a Saturday afternoon and had a really good time. Their beer selection isn't huge but what we did get was very good. I liked the guava IPA. For nondrinkers or non-beer drinkers, there were a good selection of other options. There was also a food truck and they have snacks for purchase. The best thing about this place is the interior and ambiance. The decor and artwork are fun, it's roomy, and there are games and entertainment available. They had a fun live music set with some talented musicians who seemed happy to play to a small crowd. The bartender was super friendly. All in all great experience! read more

I've been to a lot of NC breweries and this place is in the top 5 for coolest venues based on atmosphere. It's pretty large with lots of seating inside, and also a patio with more tables. They turned an old shipping container into a cool spot with seats for about 6 people. The beer itself was average. Not bad, but also not crazy memorable. They have a good sized menu to choose from. On 11 July we dropped in for a pint and a chat. From the moment we entered it was immediately evident that this was not a pub. It had multiple tv's, and blaring music. We ordered a plain brown ale. Foul is the word that best to describe it. After we drank most of it we left; never to return again. It's not that this was our first " pub" by any stretch. We've been to pubs in England, Scotland and Wales and we were never met by anything close to our experience. Get a good brewmaster, rid your self of the tv's and loud music and try again. read more

This was a great local brewery, with a lot of choices in beer and an interior decorated in a way that it was a treat visually as well. Our barkeeper, unfortunately I did ,not get her name, was extremely knowledgable about the beers. We had a couple of tasings and it was a difficult choice but had the Boar Brown (English Brown Ale), which was creamy and rich, and the Swinestien (Hefeweizen) with slight banana notes....and one other that escapes me. What a cute place! There's fun pig artwork everywhere, games, tables and cozy couches. Plus, there's a spacious outside area for nice weather days. Pig Pounder is a fantastic spot to hang out and have a drink in Greensboro. When first walking in you're met with very bold graffiti-style artwork and two pig-themed Gundam murals guarding the front door. Inside, you are surrounded by art, tons of murals adorn each wall in the building as well a hanging wing sculpture which makes for a great photo op. The bar space is huge with plenty of seating, as well as tables and some couches scattered around the building. There is also an outdoor patio in the back with picnic tables. There's plenty of entertainment, with cornhole, a ping-pong table and a newly installed Street Fighter cabinet (Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo!). They allow outside food in the establishment if you're looking to grab something to eat. Also dog friendly! Pig Pounder has a vast beer selection, with plenty of options to choose from. Their rotations seems to change frequently as well, so you're always in for a treat if you're looking for something new. A great opportunity for beer flights, which they do offer! Bartenders are super knowledgeable about the selections and will offer a sample to try a beer before you make your choice. Their Midtown Winter Ale was my favorite, but for the current season and selection I'm a big fan of the Pigment of Our Imagination. I hope you like pig puns! Visited this micro-brewery in Greensboro's Midtown area for an after work function. They let you bring in outside food which is cool as they don't serve any food themselves. The place is very spacious with multiple seating areas. There's a section with couches, the bar with barstools, as well as some larger bench type tables. They do have a sizable outdoor patio area to enjoy during nice weather. Pig Pounder is like a gallery with impressive art pieces and fun Graffiti murals all around to look at. The Angel wings were so cool, hate I didn't grab a picture. When I was there they were doing trivia and they also have some games guests can enjoy like large Jenga and ping pong tables. I'd say ambiance and entertainment wise, this is a great place to hang out. As far as the beer itself, I tried two of their sour types. I started with the Tusks on Fire which was a mango habanero lime wheat. This was only available in a can. The can art was cool and the beer was itself was alright. Enjoyed the spicy element, but flavor was a bit bland. I next tried the Raspberry Drift which was a sour fruited Berliner weisse of theirs on draft. I liked this one better. The fruity and sour notes paired well together. Overall, I think there are better local brews in the area as far as taste and variety. But the venue itself gives them some edge. read more

So I wanted to like this place. I wanted to love it! The decor and art were intriguing and impressive. There's tons of room indoors and out, with table tennis and multiple seating options. The names of the beers really drew me there though- Chocolate coconut Snout, Tusks on Fire mango habanero , Pigmosa shandy, When Pigs Fly milkshake wheat, Lipstick on a Pig hard seltzer ... you get the picture. The beers were average at best. Served reasonably cold, but everything was still in plastic. I understood plastic during the strict regulations of Covid, but now? You're gonna lose a star for that even if the beer is great - and it's not. The sour Berliner Weiss was the only one I liked out of the 5 I tasted. Our bartender was neither friendly nor helpful. It seemed like she didn't much like their beers either. I might return for music or something, but not for the beer. read more

I've been here multiple times. What I love most about it is how spacious it is. We bring our dogs when we come and having a lot of space is important for us as we use our outings to work on training them and working on behaviors in social places. There is a variety of seating. Couches, table top, bar top, outdoor and even a cute sitting area in a shipping container. We've been here during special events, trivia etc and they put on a good time every time. The servers are excellent and friendly. I really enjoyed the ones yesterday at their birthday celebration. I wish there was more shade outside. That would be my only recommendation. read more

This space is really cool. There is vibrant art all over the walls, including some political art. It is vibrant and irreverent. Also, they are frequently doing events. I went there just before Halloween and they were doing a costume contest. There were also Tarot readings, which I really enjoyed. I got a flight, and they came in plastic cups which isn't my favorite cup choice. Still, I understand because there are kids around. The Pounder is an exceptional beer that is light, crisp, and easy to drink. Of all the beers I tried, it was my favorite. I didn't care for the Golden. Even though it was light, it had a slight bitterness that spoiled the taste for me. I reallllly wanted to like the Year because it uses locally sourced honey. However, it was a little hoppy, which I don't care for. The Rootin was a little bit of a challenge to drink, but was refreshing and interesting. I really like this place and plan to go back and have a bunch of the Pounder. I'm also looking forward to trying anything new they put out. read more

After some sightseeing on a fiercely hot Greensboro summer day, we ducked in with our 15 year-old chihuahua to cool off in the air-conditioned tasting room. It was like seventh heaven. We were greeted with angelic wings, beautiful music and golden beer. We were so taken with the place that we accidentally left our camera. Coming from D.C. this place truly was impressive. We did not know what to expect from Greensboro North Carolina, but their bars have yet to disappoint us. Pig Pounder had a little bit of everything for everyone. Unique brews for the avid drinker and beer connoisseurs. We have visited a few times over the years our daughter attended HPU. This past weekend we were in town for her master's graduation and we stopped in. Yes, the mural of trump is unnecessary. I think every private business can do what they like but honestly I go to breweries to escape the world, not have political views thrust in my face. Unlike other reviewers it didn't bother me enough to not go back. First, the outdoor space is lacking in shade and seems pretty run down. It definitely needs a little love out there. But that's not the reason I won't be back and honestly if the beer was good enough, that wouldn't matter. The major issue I have is children in a brewery. Maybe every other time we went it was past the littles bedtime or maybe it's just becoming more and more normal for people to bring toddlers to a brewery but I HATE it! Particularly because these children, one of whom had special needs, were running around while their parents completely ignored them(or maybe were reveling in their perceived adorableness). They were annoying a very well behaved dog, they were going up to tables of adults just trying to enjoy a beer. It was obnoxious. I will not go back to a brewery crawling with children. I raised my kids (never ever brought them to a bar or brewery, we got a babysitter or didn't go) so I am looking forward to a peaceful afternoon sipping on a beer. I know parents think their child is so precious and adorable and couldn't possibly annoy a stranger but I gotta say- you are very wrong! I don't think your kid is cute and I don't want to even know they exist if we are in a bar or brewery. We had one beer then went a couple of doors down to doggos and hung out with the amazing dogs and drank there. It's 21+ so we knew we wouldn't have to deal with the chuck e cheese vibe! Sorry folks. Visited Gboro this past weekend as we made our own brewery tour and hit a bunch of spots, this was on high on our list . We actually went to the original location and snagged a flight there and talked with some very friendly employees and found out it was the last day and the pavilion next door was the new one. So of course we ventured over . Between the flight and 2 beers after that we were 5/5 on all beers we had here, place was HUGE with chess/ping pong/ foosball among other games to play. I came here with coworkers on a work trip and it pleased everyone in our group. We started in the taproom on a Saturday night. This space closes at 9pm so we sat for a drink and chatted with the bartender. Long bar with seating, free popcorn, and the brew tanks in the back. It's cozy in here. The pics I added are from the taproom only. Once this closes, we walked next door to their pavilion. This was a large, great space with lots of entertainment! We played ping pong and darts and ate some of the free popcorn. They also have various trail mixes behind the bar in which you can get a cup full for only $2. They also had a special that day on the kolsch for only $2. The beer selection is good. It's a variety of English ales along with a cider. I had the kolsch, shandy and peach sour. All were very good beers. And the pint prices are very reasonable. ($5-6) Aside from games in the pavilion, they also had what looked like a pod with seating that almost felt like VIP. In the back of the space they have a changing wall of art. This time it was a pig and trump. Sadly the bartender said he was receiving backlash for it when he is not the one in charge of it. I wish people could see it for what it was - art! You had to use 3D glasses to see it too. It was actually quite impressive. They do not serve food and I believe they only have a food truck on certain days - Saturday is not one of them. But you can order food in. We booked a night in Greensboro through Airbnb and our host highly recommend us coming here. We were not disappointed at all! Loved the laid back feel to this brewery. You walk in and the set up is artsy and very spacious. Plenty of seating inside and there is a patio outside as well. They are dog friendly so feel free to bring your pupper along! We went on a Saturday night and there was plenty of festivities going on. Axe throwing, private event booked in an area, their release of a new beer, and there was a lobster truck (wanted to check it out but the line was extremely long). This brewery does not offer flights, however you can sample them. We were impressed with their selection that it was difficult to pick what we want. We tried: Swinestein Hefeweizen Chancho picante Smoked Chili imperial stout The Tripping Pig IPA Pig Royale berlinerweisse Pigmosa orange juice shandy My faves were imperial stout and the pigmosa orange juice shandy. This is probably me and wife's favorite brewery of all of the breweries we have tried since we've moved to the area. The brewery itself has a lot going for it: indoor and outdoor seating areas, ping pong and tabletop jenga throughout and ample bar seating on top of the numerous seated areas. They have a great selection of beers and do canned beers to go of all of their draft options. We hit up everything from their blonde, imperial brown (VERY good), smoked beer (not overly smokey but done very well without tasting like you licked a grill), both IPAs and their sour. I like the fact that they do flights as it seems like it's 50-50 if breweries around here do them. They have a very good spread. I happened to be there while the 5k they were sponsoring a few days later had a booth there. One of the bartenders gave us the lowdown and I decided to sign up (she was also running it.) Turns out it's the first of five local races and I'm super happy that I happened to be there that particular day to sign up. Probably the coolest place in GSO. The beer is great, the walls are hip, the music is good, and you can fling axes. Not a bad time. And the beer is good. Did I mention the beer is good?
