Hi my name is CC, and I have a LivingSocial voucher buying problem. This is another place I decided to try because I was late night LivingSocial surfing and couldn't stop myself. There doesn't seem to be a ton of people working here (maybe two from my visit) so that means the phone calls don't go through to a person. I found the scheduling process fairly easy once I got a person on the phone. They seem busy, but they are small, with possible 2-3 massage rooms, so keep that in mind when booking. The place is in a building with a bakery on the end, a barre studio in the middle, Natural body works on the end. Fairly easy to get to on 3A, so driving isn't a problem. Plenty of parking out front. I went in and was greeted by Jim, my therapist. Typical procedure for a first time massage though I found myself feeling way more awkward than usual. He does myofasical and cranial spinal release, which he really explained in depth. A few quibbles (and these are personal things that don't take away from the massage itself). Chatty, which is something that makes relaxing difficult for me. The music cut out, actually I was fine with it being off, but he was bothered by it and kept trying to fix it. Pros were the myo and cranial release are fabulous. I usually feel a bit beat up or feel cheated if I don't feel beat up after a massage, or I still have muscles that hurt or pull. He worked his magic and I felt/feel like a new woman. That release is no joke. My shoulder feels better, my back doesn't feel tight, and I just feel amazing. Even with my medical knowledge, I still can't wrap my head around how he did it. How simple stretching and muscle pulling can make me feel loose is amazing. Overall, a good experience for me. I heard Diane on the radio station I listened to and decided to suggest a gift certificate to her studio as a gift for a work colleague. We collected about $150 so figured she could choose what most appealed to her. It was difficult to get someone on the phone to sell us the gift certificate and we wound up driving up to pick it us since they didn't have the ability to email us anything. Our friend found the hours limited for working people, the massage adequate but not remarkable. It definitely wasn't the awesome experience we'd hoped to give her. There's money left on her gift card and she's not motivated to go back and use it. :-( read more

The owner Diane is just not a nice person and trying to to deal with her with groupon vouchers is a joke...she tried to scam me..accuse me of not paying and told me she has cameras everywhere...and that her therapists dont lie. Well tje therapist finally admitted to the fact that I did pay. This made Diane the owner super bitchy and not only is she not honoring my vouchers but says I owe her money for an appt. that she cancelled...now I am battling with credit card company and groupon to fix this...horrible experience!! read more

My experience is similar to Natasha's below so I wanted to share and do a buyer beware on Groupons. If you are going to try this place it may be worth not buying a Groupon or trying to schedule first. If you do decide to "upgrade" be clear on what you're actually getting and make sure you aren't just looking for a full body massage. *This is just from my own experience, so use your own judgement for your own: It took 3 times of me calling and leaving messages trying to schedule 2 gifted Groupon massages before Diane called back. Once she did, we spent about 20 minutes on the phone as she immediately dove into upgrade options and basically said if I wanted to get an appointment for the 2 of us at the same time then upgrading to these fabulous options for $35 each would be the only choice. She really didn't even give an alternative when I repeatedly kept asking my options to compare. She sold me on reflexology since that's the only one worth her coming in on Saturday, and after being tired of trying to figure out a date and time that could work for both of us, I gave in. These were a gift so I wasn't really wanting to pay more but also figured since I did not pay for the original then why not if these massages really were that great. My fiancé and I were really excited to use the massages as the gift came as part of moving into our new house and our bodies were aching from all the fixer upper projects we've been doing. I'll say that the 90 minute reflexology "massage" was fine... I was relaxed for the most part. Diane warned that as energy flowed that some areas may tingle or feel pain. At one point both my arms and neck were in pain, so it likely was working. After tapping on my feet for the majority of the 90 min session, she spent what felt about 20 minutes actually massaging my back then was done. Again it was a fine massage, but Ive had many many massages in the past - many were much lower priced - and honestly don't feel any different and probably would have just preferred the normal full body massage. My fiancé did the myofasial massage with Jim and also said it was fine, but would have also preferred the typical relaxation massage. Jim talks throughout it and coaches on what to do so it's more work than relaxation. When Diane explained the choices I had thought it would be good for him because he has chronic shoulder/back pain and works with his body a lot in his occupation, plus many back breaking projects on the house. When I asked if he felt it helped it all, he shrugged and said he didn't feel different. Again, it was fine... except considering what a normal 1 hour massage costs + $35 upgrade + tip they were actually pretty expensive for what we felt they were, and left me feeling a bit of a bad taste in my mouth about being pressured to upgrade. (BTW pricing says $70 for normal 1 hr massage and $115 for reflexology massage so there was technically only a $10 "savings"). I understand as a business owner you look for opportunities to bring in more money, but sales pressures will have the opposite affect (FYI we also own two small businesses). I may have returned, as may some others, with less money pressure and more customer service. Diane, thank you for your service and I apologize because I know what bad reviews can do, but looking through other reviews that say similar, I believe it would be worthwhile to adjust your strategy a tad and listen to the customer. Good word of mouth does way better advertising than duping with Groupons! Ps Diane your website is down. read more

Terrible business! They never answer phone, always goes to voicemail. I had a 2 pm first time appointment today and woke up with a head cold so called them at 8AM to let them decide if they wanted me to come in sick since they have a 24 hour cancellation policy and if they were going to charge me I would go in, or if it would be better to reschedule. Heard nothing from them, phone goes straight to voicemail, until I get a call at 7pm saying they got my message but I will be charged. !! Terrible business !!! read more

Beware! I purchased a 3-Groupon package (60 mins each) and the owner would not accept the Groupon because I had previously visited the location. Even though the Groupon criteria said NOTHING about returning customers being ineligible. I emphasized that there was nothing to disqualify my use of the Groupon and the owner would not own up to her Groupon mistake. The therapist also tried charging me extra for some technique that he tried during my session that I never consented to. Subsequently, she and my therapist were arguing out loud in front of myself and other clients. It was wildly unprofessional and the place seemed highly disorganized. I would strongly recommend seeking treatment elsewhere. read more

I wish I had read all the reviews before purchasing from Living Social for a massage here. My first visit was fine and I had Jim. He's nice and I enjoyed my massage. My 2nd one was a different story. I had woken up with the Flu (Saturday) and called at 7am when my appt was at noon. They NEVER answer their phone. I felt like I was being respectful and trying not to get them sick. Well the owner finally called me back Monday night to reschedule. She kept insisting that I will be charged a cancelation fee for same day. I told her I understood and never complained about it, but when I tried to explain why I canceled she went silent and just continued like a recording that was their strict policy...which I understand but she could have been a little more sympathetic and maybe even a thank you for not spreading my Flu through the office. I will never go back and already have told others don't waste your time, the owner doesn't deserve anyone's business!! read more

Let me start by saying that I have had massages in Thailand and all around the world on a weekly basis for the last 20 years, so am a massage connoisseur, and can honestly say this is the most non-customer oriented unprofessionally run business and owner I have ever dealt with. I had purchased a groupon and when I called and spoke to Diane the owner, she immediately tried to pressure me into spending more money and bait and switch me. She tried to charge me more than what I paid for on the groupon by saying that certain massages and certain therapists weren't included in the groupon, even though the groupon did not state they were excluded. The only thing the groupon stated was excluded in the fine print was that the groupon "was not valid for her myofascial release treatment", it said nothing about her other treatments or therapists being excluded. She then went on and on about how she doesn't get paid as much when she does a groupon and that she just uses it as a form of advertising so doesn't treat groupon customers the same. Well Diane, my husband is the VP of marketing for a billion dollar company, so I can tell you Diane that it's really bad business practice to penalize your customers because you want to "market"... (and falsely market, I may add, since she was only partially honoring what the groupon actually offered.) Moreover, Diane was extremely unprofessional and hung the phone up on me when I tried to explain to her my ailments and past massage experiences. You would think she would want to be more informed as to how a potential clients body responded to things and what worked for them, but she did not want to hear what I had to say and just wanted to do things her way, which meant charging me more. It felt like I was talking to the used car salesman of massages. She kept insisting that my headache would not be alleviated with 1 massage treatment (perhaps not with her treatments), however whenever I've had a headache in the past 20 years and gone in somewhere for a massage my headache was in fact immediately alleviated, which is why I always go for a massage when I have a headache.... thus, the only thing I can take away from her saying that to me, is that her massages are not good enough to alleviate headaches in 1 treatment. Thank God I was able to get my $100 back from Groupon. Groupon felt horrible when I explained the situation and even compensated me additionally when they heard what happened, as they verified that the service I asked for was within the parameters of what she advertised on their site. read more
