Just some leaf-blowers) and safe (very professional safety gear), they are clearly very knowledgeable about their work. Nick is a certified arborist, and that is a requirement for us. We are restoring the native ecology of our east-facing Mesa hillside lot. The trees are an essential element in that effort. It had grown to the point where it was a serious issue to our home's foundation and to the power lines overhead. We met with Sal Sanchez from Branch Out Tree Care. Sal told us he had an experienced crew to do the complex job and he was absolutely right! Because of the size of the tree (approximately 50' x 5') and its location (wedged behind a two-story house and the neighboring property), there was no way to access it by crane. It had to be done by hand, carefully and in pieces, so as not to injure the workers or damage our house, the house next door, the power lines, or the patio below. Forrest and his wonderful crew worked steadily for 2 and a half days, carefully removing the palm in chunks and carrying the heavy pieces out to their truck at the street while taking great care to do so safely and thoughtfully. They did a wonderful job and when they finished, they cleaned everything up! We remain so impressed with their ability, courtesy, great attitude, and focus. Bart responded promptly to my request for an estimate to prune my ginormous fan palm that was…read moreblocking my neighbor's ocean view. I personally had no interest in pruning it, aside from appeasing my neighbor, so I wanted to spend as little money as possible. The tree is probably 50 feet tall and hadn't been trimmed in 20 years. There were also various utility cables running through the tree. One more obstacle was that the tree is next to the fence of my downhill neighbor, who has a lovely custom patio and jacuzzi just underneath the tree. Of utmost importance was not damaging the downhill neighbor's property. Bart (and other tree trimmers) came out to see the tree and give me estimates. All the tree trimmers who responded were professional and attentive to our needs. They all gave bids that were considerate of our priorities. The bids ranged from $600 plus dumping fees to over $2,000 to bring in a fancy truck and netting system to catch the fronds before they hit our roof or the neighbor's yard. There was one that also included plywood over the windows that were nearby. Bart was a stand out among the trimmers we met with. He had a great vibe and seemed to be smart, caring and efficient. He also advised he was bonded and insured. We are putting a new roof on already in a couple of months, so we went for the lowest bid, which came from Bart. Bart and his crew showed up on time the morning of the job. We had asked them not to turn on any chainsaws until 9 am to give our neighbors a chance to wake up in peace and leave for work without heavy equipment in the street. Thank you for honoring this request, Bart. It was fascinating to watch the main guy up the tree work. There were 2 others who worked steadily hauling downed fronds from the back of the house to stack them in the driveway in front. By the time the tree was done, about 3 hours later, the stack was 20' wide by 5' tall. It was hard to believe it came from one tree! Bart's crew accessed the neighbor's property through us and did a great job cleaning up the fronds that fell over the fence. No damage was done to the neighbor's property. The crew then proceeded to chip up all the fronds, which they did quickly. They did an excellent job of cleaning up the impacted areas of my yard and were gone by 1 pm, which was considerably faster than I thought they'd be. Bart doesn't take Venmo, but Debbie, the owner, came by and picked up a check a few days later. While the crew was working on the tree, I did have a neighbor call me and tell me she had had a terrible experience hiring this company 20 years ago when she was very pregnant. Fortunately, I had read all the Yelp reviews from people who had commented that there was a man involved with this company a long time ago who was causing all the bad reviews. I can attest from my experience that that person is no longer involved. I worked with a woman for payment and Bart to arrange and oversee the job and both were lovely. I would hire them again in a heartbeat! Thank you, Economy Tree. My neighbors are happily enjoying their views again and my wallet isn't on fire.

Both trees showed some signs of pests like mites and aphids, as well. I sent photos of them to TLC Tree Care and asked for advice. Gene said he was available and he and his crew came over the same day I called (!). He examined the trees, described what he'd like to do, and went to work at once (!!!). Next, he prescribed a little medicine and food for them and administered it via a most interesting deep watering technique. The job, including cleanup, was done in under 3 hours, and the price was most reasonable. Gene himself is a remarkable person, very thoughtful, with many years of teaching tree care under his belt. The bottom line? Both of our trees look good, and are so healthy now that, in gratitude, they have produced more fruit than we have seen in years!

He didn't ask any further questions said he didn't do "that kind of work" and "I'm in the business to save trees" turning rude and impatient on me. So odd. I'm not upset that he didn't want to cut the trees down, I'm upset with the rudeness - I guess being respectful to women is not a strong suit. But I luckily I found another company that can top all 35 of my eucalyptus trees and cut the Italian spruces down before they become more of a problem.
