Produce section is a disgrace! Everything old, moldy, overpriced or not priced at all. I had to ask how much four different things were today. It sucks having to go to one store for produce, another for bulk beans and spices and things... Instead of having dry goods in bins, everything here is wrapped in plastic. Animal- and environment-maiming plastic. Come on!!!! There's a much more reasonably priced and better quality selection of organic produce than at WF or Kroger. A good selection of gluten-free grains and baking flours, as well as GF snacks, cereals... A crazy amount of vitamins and supplements - one whole side of the store. Lots of nice bulk items you won't find elsewhere, like jasmine tea and cinnamon sticks. Unique chocolates and teas and trail mixes - all kinda fun stuff. Plus they give you a free lady bug bag on your first visit - so nice. --- some things aren't fresh, like berries, daikon; some arent fresh and are way overpriced, like ginger; there aren't some items like red onions, cherry toor cilantro. it was freezing in the store; the classes they offer aren't of interest; the beauty section (shampoo, lotion, solid peetc.) selection isn't great. I mean there are tons of products, and it's great you can sample them, but they're not that great of quality. read more

I don't really come here for the produce. It can be a bit pricey, for example, $4 Goats Milk that is $1.89 at Kroger or $5 Alkaline water that is $2.99 at Wal-Mart... However, I LOVE their organic supplements section! They have just about everything I go in looking for; it's an expansive selection of products. I'm into homeopathic, herbal and Ayurvedic medicine and I can always find things here that I can't seem to find anywhere else besides Amazon. Checkout is always quick and I love that they don't use plastic. I sell online a lot so the boxes they give me come in handy later for shipping. Great place! read more

This is my go-to grocery store in Little Rock for vegan foods (ice cream, burgers, burritos, "meats," "cheeses," etc.) and organic bulk goods (peanuts, prunes, trail mix, and more). I also get my nothing-added peanut butter, frozen organic veggies, and jugs of kombucha here. If you want a treat to tickle your taste buds, grab some of their dark chocolate-covered ginger bites from the cooler section--yum! They have a modest selection of organic produce, and their prices for organic apples are often the best in town. If you're not a fan of tap water, they also have a reverse-osmosis water station for filling your jugs. Most of their staff are outstanding--shout out to Mark and Amy--and I usually walk out with a smile. I'm not sure what the problem is with Natural Grocers. I've been in a few times, and each time something mildly unpleasant happens. Yesterday afternoon I went in to buy some protein powder and asked for one of either of two women who supposedly knew all about supplements. This place has high prices, so I figured they might hire exceptional employees to make up for it. After cheerfully assuring me that both experts were in the store, the cashier paged them. After 10 minutes or so, I asked again and was told that A was on lunch break (4:30 p.m.) and left at either 5 or 6. However, M was around, and the cashier went to look for her. M never showed up, so I read a few labels and bought a supplement that looked okay. Unfortunately, when I compared the nutrients in the fancy organic supplement to some other brands, it came up lacking, so I went to exchange it for another brand. Even though I had my receipt, the return was not a smooth transaction and required calling the robotic manager twice. I know not every place can be a well-oiled machine like Trader Joes, which sets the bar, but some employee training would benefit Natural Grocers. read more

We looked this place up on Yelp knowing it would have a smaller produce/product selection, with that being said it's exactly as we had expected. I didn't find any specialty products that I can't find elsewhere or anything that would bring me back. They did have a large vitamin selection, my husband found some great fiber husk, and I do like how the store is quiet and not crowded. They have some separate rooms for cooking demos and a room for maybe some vitamin consults? The staff there weren't overly friendly to my husband but I thought they were fine. We spent $150 and did not come home with any protein or meat. It's a nice store, just doesn't have everything my family and I are looking for. Bummer because we were looking to have a reason to leave Whole Foods. Update**2/25 Two days after our trip to the store we opened up a bag of slimy baby carrots and peeled a tangelo that was rotten and moldy. Unlucky experience I suppose but disappointing. read more

I was surprised to find this new place to be a whole foods type grocery store! Though it doesn't have the same home type vibe, the products are just as amazing! They also have great deals where if you buy something you get free bread, soap, etc!! The employees are very nice too, and they have free cooking workshops on weekends (or some sort of workshop) Its a new place so I suggest to try it out and stop by! read more

So glad to have Natural Grocers if only for the health and beauty sections. When Whole Foods moved to a new location, they downsized considerably in those areas and Natural Grocers really picked up the slack. read more

I love this store! While it is a little pricey on some items, on many things, the prices are comparable or cheaper than the other places I shop. Their sales are excellent! Great place to buy bulk items--especially nuts and spices. The only reason I did not give this store a 5 star rating is that the stock is fairly limited--no bakery, meat counter, etc. But I always leave happy and have tried many new and delicious things!!! read more

While the prices may be slightly higher for some things, this natural grocer's carries a lot of food that no other place in town carries. Be at specialty ingredients, or international flavors, their selection does not disappoint! They do not have as large of a selection as Whole Foods or Kroger, But it works for our needs read more

Such a welcome addition to the food scene in Arkansas. We need a place like this that focuses on produce grown here in the Natural state!! On a recent visit there were tomatoes, potatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, and more all from Arkansas. That's a great thing considering that their rival Whole Foods has mostly produce grown in California. The staff here are all so nice and helpful as well. I really hope this place makes it. They have almost everything Whole Foods has and in some cases they have better selections. Case in point, Natural Grocers has way more esoteric grains. So, if you're into artisanal baking with strange grains you can find them here. Not at whole foods though. I'll be shopping here when I can instead of WF. If you love supporting local food then I suggest you do the same. Arkansas is a bread basket, we don't need produce from California!!!
