We were sent here by a helpful cheese maker at the Hillcrest Farmer's Market - we were looking for somewhere to get the Farmer's Market produce (cheese, honey, hummus) on days when the Farmer's Market wasn't open. But what did we find when we got here? Beer heaven! I'm new in town, and don't recognize *any* of the local brews, which means I've been on a mad quest to try them all, particularly the Arkansas ones - most stores have them buried in an aisle of things from all over, but this shop particularly caters to local sellers, so it's rack upon rack of Southern beers! Awww yeah! They also have wine, a fresh deli, an awesome selection of artisan cheeses and snacks, and a few basic staple foods - definitely worth checking out. Would give less than one star if Yelp would allow it. The dark haired woman and taller man who were working today (01/23/2021 around 10pm) were extremely rude to us while we were in store. They loudly commented on our dress and purchases while we looked around. The owners should reconsider their staff, would never recommend coming here to anyone visiting the area. Additionally it was very overpriced, especially for the poor customer service. read more

This place was such a nice surprise! I passed by this place but thought it was closed because it looked like the lights were off. While having dinner at Dugan's, they told me that the store was open and offered 10% off with a receipt so I popped over. There were 2 people working who were so friendly and welcoming. They offered beer and wine suggestions that were spot on. The store has liquor, wine, beer and groceries available which is mind-blowing to a gal who lives in Texas! The prices are a touch higher than normal but not unreasonable AT ALL. It was weird to shop in the dark (even when inside it looked like the lights were off!) but it kind of made me love the store more! read more

We stumbled upon Stratton's after the Race for the Cure and after ten years of coming to Little Rock for the Race, this was by far the best meal! We initially went in because we wanted to do some browsing, but after we heard about their brunch, we ran back to our hotel rooms to freshen up, grab our wallets, and were stunned by duck fat potatoes, flaky croissants with perfect eggs, avocado and a drizzle of local honey. If we weren't sufficiently stuffed after that treat, the owner popped by and gave us a french cinnamon pastry to try. Then we loaded up to-go boxes with more pastries! Just to keep VISA happy, we then shopped on the market side and brought home local Arkansas goods, such as spices and coffee! Took ten years but now we know where to go after the Race! Super friendly staff that makes you happy to give your patronage. Well done! read more

This small store is packed full of wonderful items and won't disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised that not only do they have beer and liquor, which was the reason I first stopped by, but all kinds of fresh foods and local items. I was amazed at the broad array of items and the quality. What corner market has goat cheese, fresh cilantro, local beer and salads made the same day? I walked in for beer and walked out with freshly prepared food for dinner, cheese/crackerd for an appetizer and a neat local item to try. The only grocery store in downtown LR; Limited supply, but it's got the essentials--beer and bread. They have most items you'll need last minute for a recipe, but you'll pay for the continence for sure. Prices 5-20% more than the Kroger a few miles away. I was touched by the kindness of the staff at Stratton's. I was traveling through Little Rock in a cross-country move with my family. I was 11 weeks pregnant and having the sickest week of my pregnancy. It's July and it's hot, but for some reason all that sounds good to me is hot soup. And on this particularly rough day, all I felt I could eat was chicken soup. We checked in at our hotel and I turned to Yelp because we'd passed this cute grocery on the way in, and I was hopeful they might have chicken soup. I called and a nice lady on the phone told me they did not have any soup made, BUT she'd just ask the chef if he could make me some!!!! What? WOW! So sweet! And the chef was happy to! They were practically insistent on making me chicken soup. And I hadn't even told her my sob story of being pregnant, sick, driving across the country, etc. (although I did tell her the preggo-sick part when thanking her). All they knew was that a girl called wanting chicken soup, and without hesitation they would just whip some up.....it would take about 30-45 minutes. My sweet husband walked to Stratton's in a crazy sideways rain downpour (love you Craig!) to pick up the soup. He came back to the hotel with a big quart of hot soup with a poncho on that they'd given him and told me they were the nicest people ever. And the soup was really really good!!! Almost too good considering the state I was in (I could have just eaten some watery broth) packed with vegetables, herbs, good tender chicken, noodles and a delicious broth. It is pretty much all I ate for the next 3 days, and I would eat more right now if I wasn't so far away (settling into Birmingham!) Above and beyond in both the soup and customer service. Thank you Stratton's. I was having a really rough trip and you made it better. Go here. Support good people! read more
