This had been one of my favorite grocery stores in Tucson. Since there aren't too many natural organic grocery stores readily available in town this is a gem. They offer everything from fresh produce, to beauty, frozen items, plus has a large dietary supplements area. I always have some great items every time I come into this store. The staff are friendly and welcoming and that's always appreciated. Overall, great alternative store to some of the major brand name stores. read more

One thing I always look for in a grocery store is this it clean? the store was very clean. The other thing is the staff, the staff were very friendly and helpful They have a large selection of vitamins, supplements And natural beauty care products. They have quite a bit of organic stuff, the vegetables are always fresh looking They even have some Frozen organic items which were particularly of interest to me. I've been when it's been crowded and not crowded and the line through the checkout area has always been fast. I like to shop here to support a local business.But I find I have to go to some other organic natural typeplaces to complete my shopping. read more

Best produce in town!!! It's all organic- they have rarer varieties. The taste and quality surpasses Whole Foods by far!! Try their golden sweet potato- I normally am not a fan of sweet potatoes but their golden sweet potato is unreal. So amazing! And they have great sales- highly recommend shopping here above Whole Foods across the street. They also have the best taken baked sourdough loaf that I've been able to find them in town... We recently moved into this area and decided to check out Natural Grocers. The pluses: a clean store, friendly staff, a large selection of vitamins and supplements, a large selection of body care and household products, a decent selection of gluten-free products. The OK: a relatively small selection of fresh, organic produce; a basic selection of dairy (no skyr found here), plenty of frozen foods, and a fairly large bulk section. The missing: no meat/seafood counter or bakery for those seeking that. We do go to Natural Foods on a regular basis for many staples, but we have to frequent other stores for some items. This store should be busier. It has many items similar to Whole Foods across the street, is often cheaper, and it's a whole lot easier.

I will not shop at Natural Grocers because they have a terrible return policy. Yes, it is stated on the receipt, but it it unfair to the consumer to only be able to return two items per receipt. Not every shopper is out to defraud the store. read more

i was headed for the entrance from my car and Miles, a young employee, smiled, waved & said hello to me. he truly made my day because at such a young age he knows what EXCELLENT customer service is & he's doing it! i am a stickler about customer service, especially nowadays when it's really hard to find. KUDOS to you Miles. then he helped me inside when i had a question about an out of stock item. he smiled & immediately paged the dairy manager, Matt, who was nice too. i mentioned my experience about Miles to Matt. he said he would give him "what they give employees" when they get mentioned by a customer. thank you both & to you Natural Grocers for caring, being kind & truly being there for your customers. i'm sure your founder is smiling ear to ear. i thank her as well for starting N.G. good luck in your future years and may you be prosperous. :) read more

I usually shop at the NG on Oracle Road, close to where I live. But only the River Road location had what I was looking for in stock, so I came here twice this month. Like other locations, it has some things I like at better prices than other stores, but most things can be had cheaper elsewhere. So I only do small shoppings here. read more

As others have noted, the selection is not huge, but it has the best selection of consistently fresh organic vegetables that I have found since arriving in Tucson. you can't do all your shopping here, but what they have is nice. On visit today several employees barely had their mask on and certainly not safely for any customers to be near. 1.Thin bandana not even covering chin with room for all his breath to go out easily. 2. Another who tied the top part of mask and let the bottom hang untied very loosely allowing possible virus to escape. 3.Front door guy checking masks had his on his chin so he could eat his blueberries which I believe is against health code anyway while on duty on the floor besides not covering his mouth or nose. I used to go to this Natural Grocers all the time when I lived up there. I just revisited to pick up my favorite vegan tamales. This grocery store has SO MANY meat-free, dairy-free, gluten-free etc. options and they're more affordable than Whole Foods most of the time. The store layout also seems very logical and is easy to find what you're looking for. The staff has always been extremely helpful and friendly. I miss being so close to this store. read more

I was accosted by a nasty little butterball of a troglodyte who works there about not wearing my mask "correctly". She gave me a "what I need you to do" act while giving me a thumbs up for some reason. I kept my composure and did not inform her of what she REALLY needs. Rather I corrected her self righteousness stating that I have a legit medical condition and I would in fact NOT be wearing my mask in the way she "needed". I then walked past the angry little toad and finished my business in this store, mask position unchanged. I will be sending MANY others here who have medical conditions and must wear their masks in a modified way to further her lack of knowledge and regulations. You are welcome. read more

If you want to be treated by disgruntled and unprofessional employees, the go to this location. During the pandemic the employees received bonuses and a $1 raise in paycheck. That's a lot! Specially given so many people lost their job. But still they kept the same condescending attitude, you would think they would feel maybe a bit grateful to still have a job? Nahh! Seriously if you are not happy with your job then quit! If you are then show it. This was from management to everyone, except an Asian lady, she was very kind and was the only one who smiles and you feel a bit more genuine about. But haven't seen her. I'm not one who generally has to buy non-GMO-organic-packaged-by-someone-in-a-biohazard-suit granola... but if that's your thing, you can probably find it here. I do, however, tend to read labels very closely to ensure that what I'm buying will not interfere with my wife's gluten intolerance. That's not totally necessary here as they clearly label gluten free products, of which they have a large selection. My label reading habits have also caused me to fall in love with the jar of tomatoes they carry, where the ingredients read, "100% Italian tomatoes." Can't beat that for around three bucks. Browse the store and you're sure to find something you'll get hooked on. Prices are a little higher but not completely out of line with grocery stores. You have to bring your own bag or use a box from the stack in front of the store, but at least here you know you're getting pure, healthy products... without having to decipher multisyllabic label ingredients. read more

My daughter was sick a few weeks ago and I had her with me in my car. I wanted some elderberry and wasn't sure what else I could buy for her symptoms. Although they don't currently offer curbside pick up, an employee took my call, was very knowledgeable and made a few recommendations. He brought out the medicine to my car and I paid "curbside". He provided solutions to my dilema, made great recommendations and went above and beyond for me! Very very grateful for this small gesture that made a huge impact for us! Thank you!!! read more

I like this store's vast selection of vitamins and supplements. I always find what I'm looking for at a fair price. It's a very nice, friendly store but I never feel as though the people are "overly-helpful", which I truly appreciate. They also have foods that I haven't been able to find elsewhere. I am growing to love Natural Grocers. Always fully stocked to the brim with products. Love the way all the stores do not have paper or plastic bags. Bring your own policy or use a box from the front of the store to take your items home. Everything in the store is totally natural without the use of any additives. The vitamins and supplements are plentiful. Much more than most stores of the same ilk. The prices are somewhat higher than Walmart or your regular neighborhood grocers,, but do compete with Whole Foods price wise though somewhat lower. You can catch some really good sales which is what I tend to look for. I'm glad to see more and more Natural Grocers are cropping up all over town. read more

Whoever decided to place a more expensive smaller version of a "health" store next to Whole Foods must be a little slow.... most of the items I was looking for were on the brink of expiring as well. Must be due to the lot always being empty. Another nice perk is they they don't provide bags as even an option so they claim they reuse boxes. But those were out as well. So I got left hanging trying to juggle my couple expired items out the door. read more

I like ALL the Natural Grocers stores, but this one seems a bit larger with a better selection--and I always peruse their Clearance section! They did have a person who gave free help with supplement programs that I learned much from, but she had left when I tried to get another appointment. Haven't tried their new person. Selection of healthy foods and health supplements is good, and prices are better than most places left in Tucson--since a few health food type places have closed down. read more

I love the fact that this small and inviting Natural Grocers sits directly across the street from a Whole Foods at River/Craycroft although I shop at their other locations as well. The whole David vs Goliath thing between the two grocers to me is why I shop at Natural Grocers. I am done with Whole Foods and their wretched customer service, ridiculous prices, and horrible acoustics. The prices at Natural Grocers are much lower than at their massive, very loud and desperate competitor. Natural Grocers has an atmosphere much friendlier and accommodating, the produce far fresher, and the selection for gluten free vegan much better. I have been shopping there at least three times weekly for several months now, offsetting occasionally at Trader Joe's, etc. Please, please, please give this small organization your patronage sending the message that lower prices and great customer service still matter over image. Let's face it, most people shop at "Goliath's" to be seen anyways. :) HAH! read more

Love this store. Great selection and prices. Well organized, brightly lit store. Friendly, helpful staff. Really like that all the produce is organic and reasonably priced. Good selection and prices throughout the store. Much prefer this and other NG stores to Whole Foods; in fact, I don't go into WF unless I have to. Most of the WF produce is "conventional" rather than organic. It's often not fresh and selection is not consistent. Store is crowded and has a trendy, upscale feel that I don't like. Prepared food never looks very appetizing. Prices are much higher at WF than NG. read more
