The new owners seem disinterested in keeping customers as they rarely answer the phone, and if you are lucky enough to get their voice mail you will not get a call back. Try emailing the address on their business card with a question; don't bother you won't get a response. I've tried shopping there on many occasions and they are always (without exception) out of whatever it is I'm there for, which is no surprise because the shelves are always quite bare. There are often empty spaces where products would be and what they do have there is only a few items of each and maybe one of each brand. Today I politely remarked to the owner that I was disappointed that whenever I came in they were out of whatever I came for. He became very defensive and indignant and informed me that I was the first and only person to say that and EVERYBODY else has said the opposite. He said they were a mom and pop shop and don't stock much, like Sunflower does. He told me to take my business elsewhere. I attempted to tell him his attitude was surprising and that I would think a small business owner in a competitive market would welcome the feedback but he was busy talking (yelling) over me saying with an attitude like mine he didn't need my business. Judging from the looks of the bare shelves I'm thinking he kinda does. I left and as I was getting into my car he actually came out of the store yelling at me. Needless to say, regardless of the convenient location, for me, I will take my business elsewhere. I had wanted to remain a customer (I like supporting small independent businesses, being a small business owner myself) and had he been a decent businessman and more so a decent human being he might have kept me. There is an old saying, that a satisfied customer might never tell anyone but a dissatisfied one will tell everyone.

AND they offer these items at a discount in most cases. PLUS they have a super loyalty rewards program. I get back substantial credit each year for buying. You can benefit from this rewards program whether you buy online or in the store! I received an email notice that this store just opened. I was thrilled! We zipped on down there as soon as possible. Vitamin Shoppe periodically offers a buy one, get one 50% off mix and match sale for their own brand (and sometimes for sports nutrition). It is a great deal. Plus they offer sales on other brands from time to time, on top of the usual discounts. Can you tell I'm a fan? We found the service friendly and informed, and the prices were the same as online. So, being the good little shopper, I stocked up on the buy one, get one 50% sale (going on as I write this). Their line of sports nutrition (protein powders) is huge and has competitive pricing. I also buy toiletries here as well as homeopathic items. They will give other stores here a bit of a challenge, as they are nation-wide and have buying power. Their online store also has a chatroom, so you can ask other shoppers questions, and people provide written reviews of some products (they have gotten into the social media sharing aspect). They also stand by their product without question (I had an issue and the online store took care of it). These stores are all owned by The Vitamin Shoppe (not franchised). Check it out and you will probably see substantial savings for nearly all items. Very glad to see them on my side of town. (There's one on Broadway on the east side now, I think.)
