This Costco is pretty good. It's huge, has a huge parking lot, and a good gas station. It is a pain to get in and out of but it's always been like that since I was a kid. The food court is good and never too busy. It is pretty crazy at basically all times and on all days but that's typical for Costco I think. They have good selection and decent prices, no different than other Costco's I've been to. The people are friendly as always and seem to love their jobs which is a testament to how well Costco treats their employees. I don't live here anymore but if I did I would have no problem coming to this Costco. I would definitely try to go in the evening, around 7pm or so, to see if it's any quieter since my local Costco is better around that time. read more

Visit date: November 23, 2025 Time: Approximately 3:18 PM I'm writing this review to document a specific experience at the Grant Drive Costco in Tucson, particularly at Membership Services. When I arrived at the membership counter, I stood there waiting to be helped. During that time, multiple staff members were present. One family was being assisted by two employees, and another employee was helping members who came in ahead of me. When it became my turn, the employee at the counter went directly back to working on his computer and did not acknowledge me at all. What made this especially uncomfortable was that other members who entered after me were asked, "Can I help you?" or "Are you here for returns?" Questions that were never directed to me. Even staff at the returns side were acknowledging others but did not acknowledge me in any way. After standing there for some time without any acknowledgment, a female staff member did step in and assist me. She was ultimately helpful, and I want to be fair in noting that. Shortly after, when I went back outside to the gas station, an attendant was present and helpful This makes me wonder if she may have called for assistance on my behalf. That said, being completely ignored at a service counter, especially while watching others be acknowledged and assisted, felt dehumanizing. This wasn't about impatience or the warehouse being busy. It was about not being acknowledged at all. I'm sharing this feedback because basic acknowledgment ("We'll be with you shortly") is an important part of customer service, especially at a membership-based business. I hope management reviews how membership service interactions are handled so that no one else has this experience. read more

This is actually for costco.com. I ordered a king size mattress and king size base. Read it was a free delivery and white glove setup and removal. Didn't happen. The base was delivered by UPS and the mattress two days later. No setup because the contractor was ordered to deliver the mattress and remove only the old mattress. Not the old box spring or frame. Really need some quality control on the rotisserie chickens. Once again, I'm guessing 3 out of the last 5 times (various Tucson locations) , I'm carving off some breast meat for that hot chicken sandwich with bread and butter and then go to take off the drum and get some dark meat for the Mrs. and yuck, there's that bloody joint. Sort of ruins your appetite and the plans for the chicken salad, enchiladas etc down the road. I don't want to be that guy but I could see that maybe the city inspectors need to drop by ever now and again around 4 in the afternoon when folks are lined up and the workers are rushing to fill up the hot table. I would be glad to wait an extra 20 minutes for a well cooked chicken or maybe they just need to start a little earlier and build a little reserve. I've been a member since 1991. Today's experience was not good. I feel like we are being treated more and more like livestock. I wanted a Costco pizza. Called as I used to. I was informed that one can only order five on the phone. So I came in placed my order. The person said that the wait was 10 minutes. Great. Did about $300 worth of shopping. Came back. Not only did I have to wait in line, I had to wait another 20 minutes for a pizza, by her estimation because they gave my pizza away to someone else! Whaaaaattt? I paid for that pizza! They used to put it on the oven and you could come and get it at your leisure. Especially if you had already paid for it. It's not like they have to comp the item. I paid for it! Additionally, when I wanted to make my $300 purchase, the line was long. Question: if they're not going to use all of the registers that they want to appear to be operational--especially when lines are ten people deep with overfull carts--why don't they just be honest and move them out? That would give us, the ten people deep, more room to stand, or they could have room for more merchandise. Why can't the people who are prechecking us out run a register for an hour? The visual would be great! How about some honesty? By its actions corporate is saying, "We're really not going to get you out of here as fast as we can." Let us know how you really feel about us. It seems like Costco sees us as cash cows. Hmmm, another livestock reference. So, let's look at the impact these kinds of policies have on the people. Today, no one was smiling when I went in, no one. It was remarkable. Customers don't feel valued in general. Now let's look at the employees. They're taking heat because of these policies! This is not necessary. The female behind the pizza was surly at best. Gee, wonder why. The silver lining is that a poor employee who was just standing not idly, he was making himself available helped me start the process of getting a refund. He also called a manager. I'm truly sorry that I don't have their names. She came and made things better. She gave me the refund and she checked on the pizza. She "comped" the pizza. Had the same pre-paid pizza been waiting, as it should have been, on the oven, that pizza would not have been "comped". As a result of that member of management stepping in the stars went from one to two. Maybe it's time to go to Trader Joes, Sprouts regular grocery stores. That's what we used to do. I think it's worth more money to feel like someone cares where you shop. At least pretend to like us. read more

When we went to checkout, there were EMS personnel helping an elderly man right by the checkout area. The employee next to him had enclosed them in carts so people didn't run into them. What really baffled me was the fact that there were at least 10 employees along the wall staring at the scene, not including the multiple employees at the registers who stopped what they were doing and staring also. They literally weren't checking people out because they were so interested, creating longer lines and more opportunity for people to stare. How incredibly rude and disrespectful, that poor man was experiencing a trauma and instead of giving him privacy, all are gawking at him. So unprofessional. read more

We purchased five separate Premium Choice tenderloin steaks in August. Took them home and froze them into four serving sizes. Cooked one packet about a week later and found the meat mushy with no real texture. Assumed we got a bad batch. Cooked another two weeks later and experienced the same outcome. have used Costco gas in many places across the country in this particular place it was clean and well attended with staff available to help you no matter what type of situation you may need from forgetting your card to trouble at the pump. Costco has lots of things for the consumer to feel good about 1st of all the quality of their gas is excellent especially for the price point and I really need premium and it's anywhere from 10 to 20 cents a gallon less than is in the general market. It's a great value. The quality of their goods are also excellent in the store. Including lots of organic food in the crazy value of their $5 roasted chicken just like a miniature turkey. But most important they pay a livable wage for their average employees including health care and benefits and I always want to support a large port a large retail Box store that does this type of thing. read more

I purchased a tire from Costco and the tire has 65000 mile warranty. I had all the tire rotations done, balancing, air checked monthly and yearly alignments. The tech at Costco said my tires are not safe to drive. the tires have appox, 40,000 miles. I asked him if would give me credit toward a new set, he said no. I stopped at another tire store and they said Costco should give you credit as they still have a warranty. I SENT A LETTER TO THE STORE MANAGER WITH NO RESPONSE AT ALL. I actually love Costco, my daughter's school is not even half a mile away. So some days when I pick her up I take her there to get a couple slices of pizza and a drink. That is what we are doing right now. I was picking up my daughter's order and she ordered a coffee. I asked the worker if I could get a little more chocolate syrup in her coffee. He obliged. His boss then said to him. From now on if we can't charge we can't give them extra. Now I was standing there. I told him I'd pay for more. He said no ma'am, we don't have any way to charge you more. That being said I apologized to the worker for getting him in trouble in which his boss said he's not in trouble. But it wasn't the whole, telling, the worker he couldn't do it, but it was his attitude towards the worker and myself. So I think they should maybe charge extra for extra items. A quarter for extra chocolate, a dollar 25 for extra cheese....ect.... But that really bothered me because of his whole reaction to me apologizing to the worker and telling him they could charge me more for the extra chocolate. He wasn't very nice. But the one who helped us was amazing and kind. Not because he have is extra chocolate but because he obviously takes his job in customer service seriously and was very kind. I only shop st Costco and the commissary. I don't like anywhere else except Safeway. So this bothered me in behalf of the worker. I mean charge me for a drink and put the extra chocolate in it ... Visited this Costco the other night and had a great experience. It's possible we just went at an "off" time, but the aisles were easy enough to navigate and the shelves were well stocked. The check out was moving pretty quickly too! This Costco is in a pretty good location and doesn't seem to get too overrun at the off time (late evenings). Very disappointed with the changes at this Costco. Cancelled my membership because of it. Customer service has gone down. Have had 3 different experiences of rude staff members. 1. They yell at you if you try to scan in then go straight to the food court. Today an elderly lady was told she couldn't cut through to the food court and had to go around and the employee yelled at her "you don't have to be so rude", instead of empathizing with her frustration. *Side note they've created no way for you to get to the food court without going through a check out line, well what if you aren't buying items? 2. You can no longer leave items in the cart at check out (even if you only have a few) You must put them on the conveyer belt. When buying a VERY EXPENSIVE curved computer monitor that I had to put on the conveyor belt, the check out lady literally through it in my cart unbalanced. I took it out to rebalance my items and place them back in my cart in a way the monitor wouldn't fall off and she picked up the monitor and tried to throw it back in again. I literally had to put my hand out to stop her. 3. At the food court you must wait in line now even though you get a number. They only complete your order if you get in the line, in which I had another rude encounter after I had waiting a long time and was confused where my food was. I asked nicely and was told I never got in line. Won't be shopping here, switching to Sam's club! read more

9/06/2024 Friday approximately 7:10 PM following my shopping I had the worst experience ever at a Costco store, ( Tucson, Grant location) while retrieving my order at the counter from the food court. I had my pizza thrown- pushed-tossed- slid at me so fast I had to put my hand out to stop it from continuing to slide. This very rude negative behavior was demonstrated by the server Mia. Mia decided it would be OK to toss me a slice of pizza across the counter because I had asked the first server (Amanda) if she could give me another slice as it played untouched on the counter. The pizza was missing half of the toppings, Amanda frowned and asked if I had paid for 2 two slices, I replied no, I am asking for a different slice. Amanda looked at her co-worker and rolled her eyes in disgust with me and she took the slice and walked away . Her co-worker Mia returned with a new slice and practically tossed it at me across the counter. I had to reach my hand out to stop the pizza from sliding off the counter. I asked Mia, " Did you just toss pizza at me?" She replied, " You are being rude and you could lose your membership!" People, community, I have been a remember with Costco wholesales since 2000 (24 years) .starting out in Los Angeles. I have never had such a negative experience and treated with such disrespect and it occurred in front of other customers. This was so demeaning by this very young Spanish server. I mention race because I am a 66 year old African American woman, and I don't know how much of Mia's behavior was attributed to this fact, and did she think I did not matter in a crowd of Caucasian customers. I was livid by her treatment of me. After observing her badge I sought out management. I went immediately and requested and spoke with a store manager, Lupita. I expressed what I had experienced and that in the many years of being a member, I had never been treated with this level of disrespect and rudeness by a staff person. This server was very young, (20?) , but that is no excuse for the rudeness, unprofessional and degrading manner she displayed towards me. The manager emphasized of course and said she would speak to both servers. She refunded me my money, which I had not asked for, because the pizza was not the issue. Manager Lupita stepped into the food court and retuned with a fresh wrapped slice of pizza and again reiterated that she would speak with both servers when all the customers in the food court had cleared ; as it was nearing closing time. I told her this was not about pizza, although I appreciated her replacing it, and that I am hoping she does follows up with some action. I told her I will follow up with administration as well. I visit this store every other Friday since moving to Tucson 6 years ago . In 24 years I have certainly spent monies with Costco, and the outcome of this situation will certainly and clearly state to me , how valuable of a consumer and customer I am to Costco. read more

When Costco offers you an opportunity to select a delivery window for major appliance delivery as a customer perk, beware. All of the documentation, as well as the phone call the evening before confirms an 11-1 delivery window. As of 2:55 pm I have no appliances, no phone call and upon my follow-up was basically told they will get here when they get here and if it's not convenient we will have to reschedule. In otherwards Customer, your time is not valuable, we don't have to stand behind our commitments and what we publish is smokin' mirrors. Twice now, (two different purchases) I have fallen for a delivery commitment and twice the delivery vehicle has had a flat tire and had to have a tire delivered to it causing the delay (coincidence?), I'm not so sure. Sounds like the first excuse they use for late delivery to me. Evidently the delivery trucks don't carry spare tires and they must not have a telephone, as I never received a call from anyone indicating my delivery would not be made within the confirmed delivery window. Another disappointing experience. It may cost a bit more to buy local outside of the big box stores and from now on, that's where I will shop. This is my store and since the pandemic I've opted to use their delivery service. Same day delivery is always on time and the shoppers are super communicative and helpful- I've never had a delivery with incorrect or damaged goods.
