This has never entered into my rotation of grocery stores, and I realize now I was derelict in picking my rotation. I definitely should have included them before this. All of the produce is organic, all of their eggs are free-range, it's 100% pasture raised dairy and no artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners or preservatives. Furthermore, all of their meat and chicken is raised without antibiotics, added hormones or growth promoters. I had no idea. I was able to buy organic meatless meat, chai, etc. I am so happy I found this store. read more

Natural Grocers new location is was once a large CBS. The store is spacious and well stocked with organic veggies, chicken, beef and plant based products. Great selection of oats and grains. This is the only store I could find wheat bran to make date bran muffins. If you're looking for a special product, their knowledgeable staff will find it for you. This store doesn't care about their employees. From calculated write-ups to shorting their staff of legally obligated breaks, they do not care about their employees or how well they do their job. This company has discouraged workers from unionizing and given write-ups to prevent further growth in the company in an effort to save money and make their lives easier by making their employees lives worse. read more

I love the selection of soaps here, as well as the (tasty and reasonably priced) organic fruits and veggies here. You'll find better buys on vitamins and minerals online, though. Just sayin'. Friendly, attentive staff. I like how (as at Aldi) this chain always tries to make certain that its customers have ample access to boxes and other cotainers to re-purpose in lieu of paper and plastic bags. read more

I really enjoy coming here, but I'm not sure I would ever make this my regular grocery store. Lots of vitamins, supplements, and natural body products, but not a lot of choices when it comes to the grocery side of the store. The choices they do have are wonderful, though. Lots of organic, free-range, grass-fed, pasture-raised, etc. to be found. Some of the best tasting dairy to be found in the area. Seriously, it's the only place I've been able to find Kona cottage cheese, and it is one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth. read more

To whomever told me this was just like Akin's, you were right. And that's not really a compliment. It's like a cleaner, newer Akin's. I think it is really a vitamin store first, (supplements, etc), and a grocery second. Which is fine, but like, "Grocers" is a pretty big part of the name. The pros: If you need vitamins and supplements, this is your jam. They carry Mary's chicken, which is the bomb. Lots of Santa Cruz organics brand and Muir brand organics which we love. Tons of nut butters, dairy free milk, ice cream type things. About 50 kinds of coconut water, if you're into that. The cons: The produce section is shockingly small. Like, shouldn't fruits and veggies make up most of your diet? Should that not sort of feel representative to the rest of the store? It seems a bit off balance. It was also kind of odd, because there was absolutely no one in there, and the place is so quiet and serene it felt a little bit like some sort of weird utopian-but-not-really-Portlandiaesque-yuppie dreamscape. Like it's super quiet, and the muzak is a bit too calm. It seemed totally plausible that maybe the zombie apocalypse happened all around us but we were somehow protected, and just a few remained, but we couldn't leave this small, underpopulated vitamin shop, and yet, were super concerned about our dairy intake, just pouring over which Soy Dream we should buy. Maybe that's just me. Finally, whatever happens, don't forget to bring your own bags. They'll charge you for bags, and I felt really stupid for forgetting mine in the car, but there was someone in line behind me and I didn't feel I could go get them. You can get a free box instead, but the box they gave me was the exact same size as my basket, and when it was fully loaded, I couldn't get it out of the basket. It was freezing, and I felt stupid (and weak) not being able to pull my box out of my basket. And I literally said, out loud, to no one, what a weird place. I may come back here for Mary's chicken, or maybe I can convince Kasey to go for us. Maybe if he reads this review, he'll just offer to handle this so I don't continue to talk about it. read more

Natural Grocers is my happy place. Since I moved up from Norman a week ago, I've been to this location like 4 times lol. The staff is always super friendly. It's also small, so you probably see the same person a lot, which I think adds a personal touch. Their meat prices are still ridiculous, but you can't beat the price on whole chicken or pastured ground pork sausage. Their dairy is all pasture based and also the cheapest anywhere. The cheese is all grass-fed and some of it is reasonably priced, and it's often on sale. They also carry hard to find items, like einkorn pasta and crackers etc. The bulk section is amazing too. They carry a TON of paleo things, if you are into that. They also have an awesome selection of chocolates. I'm talking dark chocolate, stone ground, fair trade stuff, not Willy Wonka. The sales are even more awesome. I don't buy produce much, only because on sale that's something you can get cheaper at Sprouts. The natural beauty and body products they carry is also amazing. Just do yourself a favor and go in and browse. There is stuff I was buying at Sprouts that is actually cheaper here, and I enjoy this store much more. What a gem! read more

I honestly don't think words in a yelp review can adequately express my love for this grocery store. When I lived in Norman I went to natural grocers multiple times a week and I almost think this location is better than the Norman location. The store is so clean and open and easy to navigate. They sell only organic produce and their selection is beautiful. And for organic produce, their prices are actually pretty reasonable in my opinion. One of the things I have always loved about NG is their packaged grains, nuts, etc. I make a lot of cashew cream but it gets expensive. I can, however, buy a decently sized bag of split raw cashews for less than $5 at NG: a steal of deal. They have many things that you can't find at other grocery stores such as iced coffees made with dairy-free milks, vegan pastries/tarts, many WELL PRICED meat substitutes, frozen mushrooms, kale, collards, and on and on and on. In addition, their meats are naturally raised and if I ate meat, I would definitely be buying my meat here. They do not carry any genetically modified foods. The thing I love most about this grocery store is that I can literally trust every thing I buy here. I don't have to read labels or packaging because they don't sell any foods with artificial colors, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners or cloned animal dairy products. Despite the fact that this grocery store is multiple miles from my house, I will gladly make the trip to do most of my grocery shopping at Natural Grocers. So excited that it has finally made its way to OKC! read more

Good selection. Friendly staff. They are still finishing a little of the construction but it's a good sized store. With Sprouts, Akins and Natural Grocers all located by the 63rd Street area and May, those who live in area are going to be spoiled. Whole Foods is only a couple miles away, too. Only complaint would be coffee selection is a little limited. But hey, that's a minor complaint. Huge supplement and vitamin selection. Limited fresh meat is an issue but I think that is the area they are expanding or still constructing. I think the place is a little work in progress at moment. I'm fairly new to the organic and health food style. But it sure looked like they had most of what I have seen in other stores around here. I don't think any organic or natural food shopper will be disappointed! read more

I am so excited to try this place out! It opens today! Will update my review when I visit. OMG, but I love the one in Norman, so I'm sure I'll love this one too. And they open Mon-Sat 8 am - 9:04 pm and Sun 8am - 7:06pm, so I can make it after work! EDIT: Okay, lovies, I have to say this is a wonderful store, so the 5 stars stay! If you are familiar with the Norman or Edmond location, you won't be disappointed (actually, I've never been to the Edmond one - so far north. . . it's a different state, right?). I love that Natural Grocers have 100% organic produce. YAY. That means no search and select. I am sleepy, so I'm not much sure what else I can right at so late a time (10:50pm - yawn), so I will just say I probably like this market the best of all of the health-oriented markets. Except they don't carry the brand of kombucha I like (bucha). But they have the best beauty and skin care section ever. read more

reasons i shop at this store: ~bulk organic spices and beans ~delicious fall apple varieties not seen anywhere else in okc ~locally grown purple (not sweet) heirloom potatoes i've found nowhere else in okc ~stocking up on 'wild planet' sardines, primal kitchen avocado oil mayos, & uncured bacon when they go on sale ~in-store specials on the weekend and samples! ~PLENTY of healthy food choices to experiment with and possibly tweak recipes with, improve my life style, expand my diet, and find a new favorite ~they had a mineral my dr suggested i take and nowhere else had it ~EVERY fresh produce item is organic - no guessing ~small store yet LARGE variety of items ~service has always been friendly & quick i like to spend time wandering in search of something different whether it's a food item, kitchen utensil, health magazine, new product...and they've plenty! read more

I knew I wanted to get some veggies for my smoothie. However, the produce section was a disappointment. It had a very small selection. There were so many rows of vitamin. As I walked around, I realized that it reminded me of akins. The prices were definitely high. I might go a second time, but it won't be any time soon. read more

I travel around OKC, and frequent all their stores here. This is their first store that I bought bad filtered water from. The other one, that seems they don't know how to operate or service their water dispensers. Is the store in Norman. After both these OKC locations have sold me obviously chemical laden water. I think I'll stick to the Culligan dispensers in Walmart. read more

I love this place. It doesn't have any frills, but it has everything I want at prices lower than Sprouts for comparable products. If you want cheap non-organic produce, or conventional meat and dairy, Sprouts prices win. I don't have to worry about whether or not the cheese I'm buying is grass fed or the produce is organic here. For what you're getting, the prices are great. read more

I like the place and the prices are more reasonable than whole foods. However, I got there about ten minutes before five not aware they closed at seven on Sunday. I took my time because I didn't know they were closed. When I checked out at 7:20 and she had to let me out of the store, I felt embarrassed and expressed that I was so very sorry and that I didn't know. I know I was "that girl" and I felt horrible for it. The worker just responded, "Yeah we closed at seven." Just not very kind or understanding when I was sincerely apologetic. read more

Their produce selection is small but they do carry a larger variety and different brands that I don't see at my usual Sprouts. Their sales are really great and they run for a long time and all of the sales staff has been super helpful. It is usually empty when I go in so not sure how they are making it. read more
