I'm a bit disappointed with my experiences at WinCo Foods so far. They do carry groceries I like, and the prices are reasonable, but shopping here can be frustrating if you're unfamiliar with the store layout. I've visited twice now, and both times it was difficult to find items. When I asked an employee where the protein bars were, I was directed to the cleaning products aisle. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be many employees available on the floor to help customers, so you often have to walk all the way to the front just to ask a question. I understand employees can't know everything, but basic knowledge of the store layout should be part of customer service. This feels more like a management issue than an employee issue, because proper training starts at the top. Also, I was very surprised to learn they do not accept credit cards. In today's world, that's extremely inconvenient and something customers should be clearly aware of before shopping. Overall, if you're a new customer, be prepared to spend extra time finding what you need. read more

Their stock includes organic products, but the selection isn't as wide as some other mostly organic stores in the metro area. They don't participate in food delivery or curbside service programs. On the topic of service features, you bag your own groceries. But I will say the staff is generally pleasant and happy to help. What I like is this no frills, down-to-the-basics approach allows them to sell products at very low prices. SO MANY BARGINS. They do have a butcher, bakery, and seafood counter. The bakery has some nice items, especially breads. I haven't used the other departments. They have the largest bulk foods selection I've seen in a grocery store. Their bulk coffee selection is fantastic. Most of their bulk foods are not organic, I'd say 25 percent of their selection across the board: bulk foods, fruits, veggies, meats, dairy, is organic. They do have a refrigerated case with vegan options: vegan mayo, faux meats, tofu, etc. Their brand selection is all over the place. They have WinCo brand everything as well as fancy-end options of many products including fancy vanilla, olive oil and teas. They have a good selection of most anything you could possibly want (including craft beer and all the wines). There have been times when they are out of what we are looking for, but that happens anywhere. They carry lots of seasonal items: cards, candies, a randoms aisle with lawn chairs, decorative baskets, and the like. Their store always looks very organized and product placement makes sense. Overall, we love WinCo Foods. We have only recently discovered it, but now have it on our regular circuit of grocery stores that we visit. I'd certainly recommend going in twice. WinCo has become my go-to grocery store in the area for several reasons, but mainly proximity to home and prices. After having shopped at Pruett's (formerly Buy For Less) for many years, it has become clear that the prices at WinCo cannot be beat. Yes, Crest has some great deals, but that location (NW 23rd & Meridian) is awful to visit for several reasons as well. I prefer to go during off-peak hours, because it can get very busy and crowded. I really like the bulk section as well having more options than many other similar setups at other stores. They don't have everything I want all of the time, but overall their selection works for me. Their WinCo brand products have super low prices as well which I often opt for over brand names. Happy this store is in OKC! read more

Averaging receipts and comparing grocers, Winco will save you 15%+ over any local grocer..well, besides Aldi. But Aldi is so limited in selection you can't really compare the two. If organic is your thing, or you can afford prime or aged cuts of beef, go ahead and keep shopping at your Sprouts, Whole Foods or Homeland. Winco will not impress you. This is the most amazing grocery store in OKC! You can buy brand names, store brands in packaging or in bulk. You can get snacks, loose individually packaged candy, chocolate and yoghurt covered nuts and snacks, a variety of converted, brown or organic rices, beans, sugars, flours, granola, lentils, and buy all my Mexican, brown and wild rice pilaf by the ounce or pound! This is just a short list of bulk items you can purchase. I buy all my fresh herbs and spices by the ounce here too. Their pancake mix will rival I-Hop pancakes and their bulk biscuit mix is the best I've ever had. Also from time to time, T-Bone or ribeye steaks are about 3.99-5.49 a pound! That's crazy!! Their store brand breaded chicken breast and tenders are a carbon copy to chick fil a's. You must try this store and experience. We really think you won't be disappointed. read more

This place is next to my gym. So they are very convenient for me. I like the open layout of the store. They, like most grocery stores, are hit or miss on prices. When they have sales you can get some really good deals. Especially on meats and vegetables/fruits. One thing that I really like from this place is the fried chicken from the deli. It blows away other grocery stores. You can get an 8 piece legs & thighs box for less than $6! When it's fresh out of the fryer it can't be beat. Let's be honest, the crappy customer service isn't why I shop here but today it left a bitter taste in my mouth. I came in around 10 to 1115ish on November 18th. I decided to use the self check out because they literally only had one regular lane open with its light on and I figured since I work at another grocery store, I could probably handle it. Everything was going fine until the self check out monitor said there was an unexpected item in my cart and I didn't want anyone thinking I'm stealing or anything. I set it aside and finished the rest of my check out and headed to the self check out attendee. We found some wonderful Haas avocados, some very well priced chicken thighs, and some outstanding Pink Lady apples -- all for good prices. This is my first time living near a Winco and I am impressed. As with any grocery store there are some pros and cons, for the me pros vastly outweigh the cons and if it was a little closer to my house I might find myself here every week. The 25 minute drive means I really have to go out of my way to shop here which is a bummer. Here are my pros and cons to Winco: Pros: -GREAT prices. really, I'm an ALDI shopper most of the time and Winco is super similar in price to Aldi, beating out Walmart prices on most goods. -GREAT selection. As I mentioned I'm an Aldi shopper so the selection at this store is a massive difference. You've got all your name brands plus the Winco brand and all at great prices. I usually always find myself at two grocery stores every week because I can't get shallots or other "fancier" foods at Aldi. Winco is like the perfect hybrid of Crest and Aldi, everything you could possibly want is here but at really amazingly low prices. -Wonderful produce section. I love a great produce section. I would say Winco produce rivals Sprouts with quality and more of a selection. -Clean store. I was impressed with the clean store, however it is brand new so we'll see if this holds up over the coming years. -Great selection on organic and hard to find ingredients like gluten free needs or other dietary restrictive ingredients. -Bulk Bins- The bulk section is something to write home about. Everything from nuts and coffee to flours, pasta and candy. -Open 24 hours! Cons: -Bag your own groceries. You do have to bag your own groceries however it's much different than Aldi. They have a conveyor belt behind the checker where they place your food items after they have scanned them and you go to end and bag them with provided plastic bags. It's much more efficient that at Aldi they put everything back in your cart. Because I'm used to Aldi I don't mind this inconvenience. -Busy & Low staff. I'm not sure if they are always staffed with few people but the times I have been at peak busy times the lines were very long to check out. I went at around 8am one morning after school drop off and it was heaven. No one was there, it was glorious! So I HIGHLY recommend going at an off peak time and since they are opened 24 hours you totally can! In Between: -Extra large store. This is more a matter of preference but Winco is so big that it takes me a really long time to get through. Again, I'm used to shopping at Aldi and Winco is like the size of 4 Aldi's. I won't be back. To be fair, I was not a regular shopper but it was on my way home from a neighboring town so I stopped in for a few items. At checkout, there were no lines, per se, only a crowd of people trying to figure out where they were supposed to be. There were the ever-present self-checkouts but several were out of order. There were maybe three lines with a cashier. I inadvertently ended up in self-checkout. I followed the sign on the floor for using a card at checkout. But when I got up to the machine it was a debit card only. I don't use a debit card. I had wasted nearly an hour of my life in this store. Winco won't get any more from me. It has its pros and works for many people. My time is an irreplaceable commodity. I do not willingly waste it. read more

However, I have experienced this particular issue more than 10 times in the past six months, and frankly, I'm about done with shopping at any store that can't see the trees for the forest. OPEN UP YOUR CASHIER LANES! We don't want to stand in a line of 7 or 8 baskets full of customers to buy a few things. Even the cash-only or express lanes were jammed packed due to two machines being down. The cashier guardians at the express self-service lanes are allowing folks to bring entire baskets full of items when the limit is 15. I'm not alone in this, and I've waited patiently before giving a former review. FIX IT WINCO! read more

For a long time I was a die-hard Buy For Less customer, but when this behemoth was built nearby, I became a convert. Incredible selection - this is a place to go for large trips when you need to get everything and anything. There is a pretty nice deli as well, sushi rolling station, fish, steaks, all that stuff. There is a bakery that makes some pretty solid muffins and bagels, and there is a bulk section where you can get all different kinds of candy, flour, grains, and more. Huge produce section - pretty much any fruit or vegetable you could want, and an even huger freezer section for all of your cold food needs. It is a "bag your own groceries" place, so be ready for that, but unlike Aldi, they do provide bags. The place is always clean, the employees are friendly, and it's open 24-hours! I wouldn't say it's the greatest grocery store you'll ever encounter, but it's going to give you everything you need to feed yourself and your family for a low price AND you get to feel superior you didn't go to Wal-Mart, if that's your thing. This is by far my favorite everyday grocery store. I have grocery stores for meat, for fish, for whatever, but when I need staples this is where I go. They are quite large and have the biggest bulk section I've ever seen. Because they are employee owned and because they have the best prices EVER, there is no sampling. I have been pleased with the prices and the quality of produce.i have also been pleased with their meat. One time I bought a package of thighs for 1.49. Exactly. $1.49.
