Pruett's Food May 22, 2026 (2/5) I want to start by being completely fair to this store, because it absolutely earned it on first impression: Pruett's Food has one of the most striking and genuinely unique interiors I have ever seen in a grocery store. Walking in, you're greeted by a dramatic cluster of glowing red orb lights suspended over the snack aisle, a massive artificial ivy tree built right into the center of the floor as a centerpiece, the word "HEARTY" spelled out in hedge-style topiary lettering, glowing neon department signs over sections like the juice area, and lush greenery, ferns, and floral displays scattered throughout. There were even framed western-style portraits lining one of the walls, giving the place a real sense of character and identity. The seafood case was beautifully arranged and generously stocked with crab, salmon, shrimp, and more, all garnished with greenery and presented like something out of a high-end specialty market. The fresh marinated meat case was just as impressive, with variety marinade chicken drumsticks at $1.59 a pound and a whole spread of seasoned wings, kabobs, and skewers that genuinely looked fantastic. The produce section was bright and full, with watermelon slices, blueberries, and seasonal fruit on attractive curved wooden display racks, and sale prices throughout the store were strong. On atmosphere, merchandising, and presentation alone, this place is a 5-star experience, and you can tell real money and real thought went into the design. That is exactly why what happened next was so disappointing. I picked up a jar of Miracle Whip during my visit, and when I got home and looked at the packaging, it was stamped "Best When Used By 14MAY2026." My visit was on May 22, which means the product I was sold was a full eight days past the date printed right on it. Selling something already past its labeled freshness date isn't a tiny oversight to me, and it stings even more in a store that has so clearly invested in looking fresh, abundant, and premium at every turn. What really drives it home is the company's own slogan, printed right on their shopping bag: "Home of the ProFRESHionals." When a grocery store builds its entire brand and its gorgeous interior around the idea of freshness, and then sends a first-time customer home with an out-of-date product, the polish starts to feel like a façade. All the orb lights, topiary lettering, neon signs, and beautiful display cases in the world don't matter if the basics of stock rotation and date-checking aren't being handled on the shelf where it actually counts. A single jar slipping through wouldn't end the world on its own, but as a first impression it immediately made me wonder what else on those shelves isn't being checked, and that doubt quietly followed me through everything else I'd already put in my cart. It's a genuine shame, because the bones of this place are excellent. The atmosphere is fun and distinctive, the meat and seafood departments looked top-tier, the produce was inviting, and the pricing was competitive. If the freshness and stock practices matched the presentation, this would easily be one of my favorite stores in the area, and I'd happily make it a regular stop. As it stands, the gap between how good it looks and the expired product I actually carried out the door is just too wide to ignore. My honest advice to anyone shopping here is to enjoy the atmosphere, but check the date on every single item before it goes in your cart and again at checkout. Freshness should be the store's responsibility, especially for a place that puts the word right in its own name. I walked in genuinely impressed and hoping I'd stumbled onto a new favorite, and I walked out, unfortunately, with no plans to return. read more

Pruett's was having another amazing sale. This time 20% off everything you can get to fit in the provided paper bag. We didn't need much but got what we needed. You had to go thru a register with a cashier and there was just one when we went. We had to wait a little bit. The cashier, John D was very friendly. We got there around 8:20 and there was a lot of stocking going on. read more

Awesome grocery store with a wide variety of fresh fruit and produce (oftentimes they have great specials/deals as can be seen advertised on their electronic billboards), beverages and fresh food sections serving sushi, juices and more. The store was very clean with wide aisles. The produce section was beautiful. They didn't have a good selection of organic brands. They didn't have a good selection of bulk snacks. They should add a coffee bar too. I'll try a different grocery store next time and compare. The clerk was very kind at checkout. The parking lot was big. read more

For the first time in the fifteen years that I've shopped at this grocery store, today Mike the cashier would not bag my groceries and told me "No" when I asked him why. Even on the Sunday last month when manager only scheduled two employees, the cashier helped bag my groceries. read more

While searching for some made in Oklahoma sodas, I was directed here. I had never heard of this grocery store company. I was impressed. I loved their cheese counter and their MIO wall. I ended up walking out with a lot more Made In Oklahoma items. Kind of has that quaint, small town feel, too. read more

I've never heard of Pruett's Food before but it's quite big. It's very similar to Crest and essentially sells the same type of products. It has all the grocery goods you could possibly need. Price of goods are average, a few things are decent. I am not entirely sure the main draw of Pruett's Food honestly. read more

Building looks beautiful inside. Produce department is very tidy and well-displayed. Their items are quite pricey other than the really good deals they have every so often. Sushi bar is amazing. Some of the best store-bought sushi that I've ever had, and the deli food is also good and a good price. $8 for a full meal with a main course and two sides which isn't so bad. Make sure you check the dates on items when you shop here as I've seen multiple expired items. Employees here are helpful and respectful for the most part. All in all, besides being somewhat overpriced, I'd say the store is pretty neat. read more

The store looks more spacious and brighter since the renovation. I am so happy that the deli is fully renovated and functional.The staff there is so friendly and accommodating. They offered to fry livers for me as there weren't any already prepared. We also like the ribs, catfish, corn salad, and fried green beans. Definitely my favorite deli in this town. I remember they were going through a massive reno last year and we only shop when someone needs to go to the urgent care nearby...but this place is so pretty now I want to come back. Looks aside prices are fine, not too much higher than Walmart. I'm most impressed by their massive produce area. Everything is so well placed and it's quiet. Lovely little spots where they place stuffed animals and other random fun gift ideas for those just popping in and out. Will attach more pics when I return! read more
