It was my first time in, and I still felt the same way as when I'm welcomed into the home of my friends. After talking to the staff, you learn that they work there because they truly love the animals. I don't mean they take good care of the animals, I mean they truly love ALL of the animals. While I was there, one staff memeber was cleaning/transferring a spider home and the spider bit him. His reply was "so cute!". I purchased a bunch of crickets (150) and the staff bagged them in 5 separate bags. This gives them room to move around and breathe. It keeps them alive longer, but also shows the level of care the staff has for ALL the animals, even feeder crickets. I've purchased crickets for over a decade and this is the first place Ive ever been to that didn't just dump all of them into a single bag. Finally, the last thing that really stood out, was the placements all the animal habitats. They are housed in a way that the animals can't see into neighboring habitats. Reptiles don't like to see other reptiles. It causes a lot of stress due to predator/pray relations, as well as territorial issues. It's nice that Wild Things cares more about the animals, than the bottom dollar. Clean. Good staff. Caring staff. Competitive prices. What more can you ask for? Wild Things is about 45 min out of my way there, and 45 min back. There are closer places, but Wild Things is worth the drive because I truly feel they love scaled family as much as I do.

I either have to walk her at night with limited distractions or we don't walk. If we don't walk she gets very antsy and paces constantly. I was speaking about this to one associate and another overheard me who apparently had the same breed and issue. She showed me the harness she uses and told me to bring it back if it didn't fit or didn't help with my issue. First walk...amazing. It doesn't choke my dog by pulling against her neck but absolutely helps with the insistent pulling and yanking. We were able to go for a 1.5 miles today with one of my other dogs with no issue. She couldn't wiggle out of it and it was super helpful with guiding her on where I needed/wanted her to go instead of the pulling. Her overall demeanor after the walk was night and day too. I think it was just an easier walk overall for both of us which was so much more enjoyable.

Lately, it seems that the grooming staff has been leaving an hour or two earlier than what their hours state they should. We've gone in several times well before closing and no one is there and no other store employees are aware of it. Tonight, we called first to make sure someone was there. Sure enough, all of the grooming staff was already gone by 5 when they are supposed to be open until 6pm. Super frustrating, especially when there is no option to book an appointment for a nail grinding online. Our dog doesn't enjoy going anyways and then to get there, and have to take him back to the car, and go back home for nothing is getting really frustrating and it is a waste of our time and gas. If the grooming hours stated are not being followed and the grooming staff is not going to adhere to them, it's not fair to walk in customers. At this point, we're ready to take our business elsewhere.

When I dropped her off, I requested her usual Yorkie puppy cut and specifically asked for a full haircut with her coat kept short for the summer. Instead, when I picked her up, she had been completely shaved. She looked nothing like the Yorkie puppy cut she has received for years. Unfortunately, the groomer was not present when I dropped her off or when I picked her up, so I never had the opportunity to discuss the haircut or understand what happened with the communication. I still don't know how my request was misunderstood. To make matters worse, I noticed when I got home that her tear stains had not even been cleaned, something I had to do myself. In the ten years I've owned my dog and had her groomed every couple of months, I have never had an experience this disappointing. I understand that hair grows back, but it is heartbreaking to see my dog completely shaved when that is not what I requested. I trusted this business based on our long history together, and I left feeling very sad and let down. I sincerely hope this feedback helps prevent another pet owner from having a similar experience in the future.
