While we were out in Fort Collins, we figured to grab new things for the hellhounds at The Mausoleum. This place had some good rolled cheeks for a reasonable price, and it is their favorite. We also found a few decently durable toys with ropes in them so the barking dorks at home think their new toys aren't detroyed seconds after they get them. Some prices are a bit high, though, even for this goblin. All in all; Decent place to hit up.

I currently have 3 (well-adjusted, happy) adopted buddies and over the years have adopted all my previous pets (both cats and dogs) . I highly recommend adopting from AFA. The animals are all well treated, the staff is friendly and personable. They really care for and take care of their rescues. They take the time to attend to the particular needs of each and help to carefully match the animal with the right home. When you consider the trauma so many have experience in their prior life, this attention to detail and affection goes a long way to helping the rescues adjust to a new home. They also go over questions, answers and needs of the new pet with the adopting families and offer resources to help with training and veterinary care. For a few years, everything was fine (but my mom also checked in regularly on the cats). My only "requirements" were to feed them wet food daily (and dispose of any uneaten wet food before adding new wet food) and make sure they had plenty of clean water, and refill dry food and water as needed. Everything would be set out - food, trash can (to dispose of the empty cans from wet food and any uneaten wet food) paper towels & carpet cleaner (for any messes), etc. My mom generally scooped litter boxes since they were in various places in the house. As I said, prior to our last vacation, all was OK for a service that I knew was more oriented to dogs. This last trip however I was very disappointed. Upon coming home, we discovered that wet food was not disposed of timely and had actually become moldy. This single occurrence has caused this review and as such, I will be finding a new service or person that is oriented to only caring for cats and their needs while we are away.

The company is insured and bonded. I would not be comfortable with some random person who put a couple of flyers up in coffee shops as a way to make extra money. Heather came by to meet the dogs, meet us, and get a key during the initial appointment. Thereafter, she just lets herself in and takes the dogs for a jaunt. My dogs have had - issues - of the intestinal variety and not even that scared her off! Heather administers midday medications as needed and I love getting the reports about how the dogs had a good time during the day. I mean, if I'm at work at least someone's having fun! The dogs are so much calmer when she has come by. This is a really fantastic service.

Staff checked cameras and saw the moment it happened; Her toe caught in the small gap between two concrete slabs on the ground a few days prior to me picking her up. Which means...she had a broken toe for a few days and it went unnoticed. They offered me 20% off our next visit. We board with our trainer now at Peak K-9 .
