While planning my daughters wedding we fit in a girls weekend for bachelorette festivities with the bridal party in Cape May, NJ. The week before we were scheduled to head down we decided to surprise the bridal party with a spa day as a thank you for all of their help; after a few phone calls I came in contact with Lisa at Shore Relaxation. We were able to schedule for her and one more massage therapist to meet us at our shore house that following weekend for a total of 6 massages! The day of our appointments the girls arrived a few minutes early to set up their equipment and they did it beautifully transforming their temporary space into bonafide massage rooms. The sheets were so soft, the table was incredibly comfortable and HEATED which was amazing because I'm always cold. They also had a bunch of different scented oils and creams to choose from if you want aromatherapy, I decided to spring for the lavender and lemongrass (which she gave me the remainder of after massage!). During the massage there was a tablet displaying a crackling fireplace with soothing spa music playing in background. The massages, without a question, the best we all have ever had! To be honest, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect from an traveling massage therapist but there is no doubt that these young ladies are legitimate. We tried convincing them to travel to Virgina but they only work in Cape May County. Overall, the experience was nothing short of amazing and so relaxing. The girls were very pleasant, polite, professional and we can't wait to indulge again when back in the area!

Being the location is not your typical spa, I think the pricing balances out as this establishment is more medicinal in their sevices vs the traditional swedish massage type of places. We arrived about 15…read moreminutes early, checked in smoothly, and enjoyed some refreshments in the relaxation room -- a nice, calm start to what we hoped would be a relaxing experience. However, my treatment experience was extremely disappointing. When my massage therapist, Michelle, met me in the hallway, she quickly walked me to the treatment room and rushed through the instructions while moving things around the space. Toward the end, she wasn't even facing me, so I couldn't hear her clearly. When I politely asked her to repeat the last part, she sighed audibly before starting over. I clarified that I only needed her to repeat the part I couldn't hear, and she did -- but the tone already felt impatient and unprofessional. A few minutes later, she reentered the room and said, "On your back, dude." I was taken aback and asked her to repeat what she said. When she did, I asked, "What did you just call me?" She widened her eyes and replied, "Dude -- you are a dude, aren't you?" At that point, I told her I was done, gathered my things, and left. My wife and I enjoy getting massages regularly, and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had -- not only because of the unprofessional language, but also because of the dismissive attitude that turned what should've been a relaxing, rejuvenating session into an uncomfortable encounter. The spa itself is beautiful, and the front-end staff were kind and accommodating, but the service I received from this therapist was unacceptable for a resort of this caliber. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously, as the rest of the experience -- the setting, amenities, and our excitement for a shared relaxation day -- was completely overshadowed by this interaction.

She found all those tight spots and really paid them some expert attention. She also has aromatherapy oils she will use if you are comfortable with them. You enter the studio on the second floor and her deck there also has beautiful views with some great bird watching. The best 'waiting room' ever.
