Previously my favorite place for a pedicure but they stopped doing nails in summer 2026.

My wife and I booked two 90-minute massages at the Sea Spa at Congress Hall. We arrived about 15 minutes early, checked in smoothly, and enjoyed some refreshments in the relaxation room -- a nice, calm start to what we hoped would be a relaxing experience. However, my treatment experience was extremely disappointing. When my massage therapist, Michelle, met me in the hallway, she quickly walked me to the treatment room and rushed through the instructions while moving things around the space. Toward the end, she wasn't even facing me, so I couldn't hear her clearly. When I politely asked her to repeat the last part, she sighed audibly before starting over. I clarified that I only needed her to repeat the part I couldn't hear, and she did -- but the tone already felt impatient and unprofessional. A few minutes later, she reentered the room and said, "On your back, dude." I was taken aback and asked her to repeat what she said. When she did, I asked, "What did you just call me?" She widened her eyes and replied, "Dude -- you are a dude, aren't you?" At that point, I told her I was done, gathered my things, and left. My wife and I enjoy getting massages regularly, and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had -- not only because of the unprofessional language, but also because of the dismissive attitude that turned what should've been a relaxing, rejuvenating session into an uncomfortable encounter. The spa itself is beautiful, and the front-end staff were kind and accommodating, but the service I received from this therapist was unacceptable for a resort of this caliber. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously, as the rest of the experience -- the setting, amenities, and our excitement for a shared relaxation day -- was completely overshadowed by this interaction. read more

I have used the spa several times this past summer, recommended it to my friends and even brought two in. My last treatment was back on September 23. I just received a call from the spa that I missed my appointment for this morning that I scheduled with Tammy back on the 23rd of September. Two things - the 22nd is my husband's birthday so I'm sure I would not have scheduled it for today. 2nd, after being in the service industry for over 30 years, I am disappointed that I never received a confirmation the day or two before I had my appointment. I believe in the past I received a confirmation at least the day before my treatments. In any event, I understand it's a holiday weekend and they are charging me a $100 no show fee. That amount certainly isn't near anything I've spent at the spa for services and products over the past summer so the $100 no show fee is the last transaction they will be getting out of me. read more

I went for a spa treatment at the end of the Winter Season. I was expecting the Spa to be spectacular like the property itself. Instead, the spa is very old. The massage room felt like I was laying under a circus tent, which I suppose was to feel like a cabana. The changing room/ ladies room is small. I was offered the steam room and was interrupted several times. The most unprofessional thing I came across was when I gathered my things after the massage and was leaving the room. I had my earrings on the counter and it was next to the days schedule. I couldn't help but see in RED where the scheduler and massage therapist wrote next to a clients name, "she's an a**hole" and "f*ck her". I hope the client did not see the schedule sheet. If I managed the place, and saw that, they both would have been fired. There are much nicer spas in the area with friendlier staff, updated and cleaner accommodations. Lastly, I'll never go back after seeing what they wrote about a client. It's very unprofessional. It's way overrated and over priced. read more

I walked in to purchase a gift card and the receptionist told me it would be 1 minute as she proceeded to take care of 3 other people who had services done and came to the reception area after me. As this was the first Impression it will Be the last! Very rude and not professional. Zero stars! read more

I every year for my birthday my husband gifts a service form the sea spa to me. This last year I had the 45 min full body massage. Wow. It was so amazing and luxurious. My masseur was top notch and made me feel so comfortable the entire time. Next year I've asked for. 75 min massage!! read more

Had a Swedish massage today. Not at all impressed. I didn't get to the room til 10 min after my appointed time. Then she left for 5 min while I got on the table. I was only wearing a robe. Took me 30 sec to get on the table. Was out of the room at 15 til the hour. So about a 40 min massage. Also one of the most expensive massages I have ever received. Will not be back. read more

Really clean and comfortable establishment. Nice relaxation room but awkward when it's so quiet you can listen into everyone else's conversations. The massage room was nicely decorated. The service was amazing. However the 50 min Swedish massage won't soothe your muscles. The masseuses light to medium pressure felt more like super light to light. Any deeper would require you to pay more. Which is odd. A bit pricey given you don't come out 100% relaxed and satisfied. But a nice facility nonetheless. read more

The actual massage physically that I had was pretty good on the spot itself is very clean and beautiful. However, the attitude of my massage therapist, vicki, was poor. She kept asking me to relax, and when I explained to her we had had a recent death of a child in our family and the reason I was at the spa was to try to relax, she told me that it was like trying to massage a stone, when she tried to massage my shoulders and back. I nearly got off up off the table and left but I was trying not to make a scene. Just want to warn others that you're not going to get a lot of warm fuzzy's from this woman. Magical. We got 90 minute massages for our anniversary. We were able to schedule our appointments a couples days before. The rooms were beautifully decorated like old fashioned beach tents and I loved being able to pick the music for my massage. The table was heated and felt larger than other massage tables. Just note, this amazing experience comes at a high price. read more

This spa was the perfect ending to a wonderful girls weekend getaway. We booked the massage and facial package and were glowing and relaxed after our treatments. They have great products and staff that really know what they are doing. I had Tammy for my facial and Frank for my massage. read more

YES the services are pricey but I feel like they are justified because of the great service and overall experience. My mom and I absolutely loved our time at the Sea Spa! My mom had the classic Swedish massage with Vicki and I had a deep massage with Leah. We thought both massages were well suited to our liking and needs. The decor at the Sea Spa is really beautiful and unique, and contributes to the overall luxurious feel. You get to pick what kind of music you want for the massage, which we both thought was a nice touch! We were shown to the women's changing rooms and then waited in the relaxation room- both very clean, cute, and comfortable. When the massages were over, my mom and I met back up in the relaxation room and then headed to the changing rooms for 10 minutes steams (so fun!) followed by showers. They have really great smelling products for use in the shower and nice moisturizers for you to use when you're done. I feel like this is the kind of place you go to when you really want to indulge and pamper yourself! A bit of a splurge but a great way to unwind on vacation. read more

Management is an Absolute joke. My pregnant wife booked 4 prenatal massages months in advance for a girls weekend to find out that the employee who made reservation only held the appointment for one person. Zero effort to move times around to accommodate us. Please be advised that this spa is very poorly managed and was unable to provide any indication of how or why this happened or any remedy. read more

Michelle's massage was the best I've ever had. Totally felt comfortable with her and will come back to her when I can. After my massage I steamed in the steam room and it was wonderful. Nice clean facility and plenty water to drink. However the front desk service was a little questionable. When adding tip to my bill the receptionist rolled her eyes at me. Weird. read more

Great facial! Surprised my mom for her birthday and we both loved our services. Extremely relaxing, well maintained and great services!

Had a great facial here! She was really informative about my skin and answered a lot of questions - I always like to learn about skin care and products and anti-aging stuff. It was relaxing and my face looked great. On the downside, their products were way too pricey for me to consider buying, unfortunately ($150+ for the small serum she recommended) and I did not care for the 'circus tent' look of the massage and facial rooms = too overstimulating and chaotic. read more

My friend and I thought we'd have a girls weekend down the shore. Making reservations was an extremely easy process. We arrived at the front desk and were warmly greeted. The locker room was very nice but a little small (I'm sure due to the age of the building). The relaxation room was very nice. I really like the vintage bathing suits that were displayed. Both of the people who provided my services, Michelle and Tammy, were very nice and very good. Really liked that you could choose the music you would listening to during your service. It was a wonderful experience and plan to go back this summer. read more

Was looking forward a relaxing afternoon at the spa with my friends. We signed up for a facial and massage each 50 minutes. The services were great and the therapists were awesome. However a very loud parade was occurring outside the spa. The therapists were very apologetic but the services were not relaxing. To be honest I am very upset at the management for not warning us about this town scheduled issue when we booked. We would have preferred a much more relaxing experience since that was what we thought we weren't paying for. In all honesty, it was a waste of money and time. read more

The special offer on their website was a little confusing though and i was expctng to pay less than wat i paid for. Would go back for another hot stone massage! If you're used to nail salon styled pedicures (I am) this may not be for you. This is definitely more of a relaxing pedicure. Barbara was great - very pleasant and meticulous with everything. My only regret was that they didn't do much by way of scrubbing the bottom of my feet which can get really dry and rough. That being said, I'm still happy with the results! read more

Got a facial here and was definitely disappointed and feel like I wasted $100. First, it was only a total of about 38 minutes, when it's supposed to be 50. By the time I got back to room and undressed, it was 10:10 and when it was over was 10:48. The lady didn't seem to see any of my extractions needed, so I had to tell here where to look. In addition, when I arrived I asked what upgrades were available and she didn't know, didn't feel she was an experienced facialist and must have just been subbing for the day. Probably the worst part was the screaming baby that was consistent for at least ten to fifteen minutes of the 38 minutes facial. The whole place seemed low rent, the relaxing room was just a tiny waiting room with water and tea, felt like a doctor's office. Very disappointed I spent $120 with tip for this experience. Will not go back here and would recommend others to find another option locally. read more

This was a great spa experience from beginning to end. Upon checking in you go to the locker room where you get a private locker with a key, robe, and sandals. My mom and I both got Swedish Massages and both massage therapists were incredible. I wish I would have booked a deep tissue because Johanna was so knowledgeable about my trouble areas. After the massage, Johanna turned on the steam room in the locker room and we were able to sit in there before taking showers! My husband and I love this spa for massages and body treatments. It's become a regular stop during our weekends in Cape May. It is small, but the locker rooms and waiting areas are relaxing and always impeccably maintained. Get there a little early to enjoy quiet time in the waiting room and stay a little longer to use the steam shower! A great respite with all the vintage charm of Congress Hall. read more

Pricey at $55 for a pedicure. Great atmosphere but a little simple and uninvolved for the cost.

Congress Hall is a Cape May landmark and I've been 3 times for services at the Sea Spa to give them a fair shake but each experience left me pretty disappointed. I really like that you're able to customize your music for massage services, but for the expense I definitely expected more. The changing room is lovely and welcoming, you are able to shower before or after and complimentary grooming products are offered. Once in the service though I found the rooms are very chilly in winter and hot in summer. They are just poorly insulated, and you can also hear people talking from outside or in the treatment room next door which takes a away from the experience. The facial and massages were not very good either time I went and aside from the pedicure with paraffin, I could find the same services or better for far less at other local establishments. read more

For a very pricey and renowned establishment, I am very disappointed with their customer service. I had a manicure yesterday and made an appointment for a pedicure today. I checked in a few minutes early and was seated in the relaxation room. I waited for over 30 minutes and checked back at the desk about when I'd be seen. They asked for my name 3 more times and said they didn't have me on the schedule. They also asked if I'd maybe come there mistakenly and had an appointment at another spa in town. These were the same people who had "checked me in" and who I just told that I had been there the day before. They said I was actually incorrectly scheduled for the following day and asked if I could come back then instead and offered me a discount. I told them I needed the service today and they said the earliest they could take me was in an hour and a half. I brought up that they let me sit there for a half hour and they never realized their mistake and said that I'd still be sitting there if I didn't check. The spa manager admitted it was her mistake but did not seem concerned or genuinely apologetic. Both manicurists were sitting with no clients and they did not attempt to fit me in or even check with them to see if it was possible. I've been going there annually during my vacation but will not be back. An hour wasted and I felt like I did not matter to them as I left. read more
