Not a place I would normally go, but my husband needed a specific pair of Birkenstock shoes and so we stopped by here to check their stock. I honestly forget this place is even here, but often pass by it along Hana Highway. A few weeks ago was my first time in the store. I was amazed at their selection of shoes and sandals. They had a lot for just a little store that lined their walls from top to bottom! They even had bags and socks and some other little knick knacks. There was one worker in the store and strangely, it got a little busy a few minutes after we arrived there. There were 2 other patrons that walked in after us and the saleslady handled everyone with grace. She was just really kind and had great energy and so it prompted me to want to write this review :) She gladly helped with our needs and went back often to check for various sizes and styles of shoes. She also informed us that if they don't have something in stock, they can order it for you if needed. Definitely stop by here for all your Birkies needs and even carry other brands like Choco, Keen, & Teva. read more

Purchased multiple items, looking to "shop local" and support a Maui business. One pair of boots failed within eight months. Called looking for help. Was told that they were out of warranty and that I hadn't worn them enough, thus the (rubber) boots cracking. No help offered. Ended up calling the manufacturer, only to learn that there was a one year warranty - and no worries on getting a new pair sent to me. So while the folks at the store were nice when handing them $400, the after sales support was non-existent. Sad. read more

Drove across island in hopes of buying a few new pairs of birks. We walk into the store, and the lady at the front desk just stares at us, no greeting or hello. She watches us try on display after display trying to find our correct size, never offering assistance or to help measure our feet to find our best size. When we ask to try pairs on from the back she made us feel like a burden. Had we not been so set on buying birks, I would have left without purchasing. Was quite busy when my wife and I walked in. Didn't get asked if I needed help but I kinda had an idea of what I wanted to buy. Lady behind the counter was quite accommodating when I wanted to try different shoes in different sizes, considering she was already helping some other customers too. I recently visited the store to pick up shoes for work which was on 10/5 around 3ish pm. I'm not sure who the salesperson was but she's tall with short hair. She provided me with excellent service and we picked out a shoes that was perfect for me. I really enjoyed talking to her and the store was kept very nice and organized. The service in this store leaves something to be desired. Not knowing my European foot size, I asked for a pair of Birks in my regular 8.5 The lady working did not know the conversions, nor offered to do a measurement, so I was left trying on different samples to determine a close sizing. (You would think that a store selling predominately European made shoes would readily have that kind of knowledge on hand.) Out of most styles in most sizes, I asked if a phone call could be made to one of their other stores or if a pair could be ordered in my size. I was given two phone numbers to call and that's about it! Kind of weird customer service. I left with out purchasing anything, although that was exactly my aim walking in. Went to the Kihei Birk store and the lady was cold fish. We obviously live here but they're geared for tourist. So went to this store in Kahului and the weekend lady was very nice but 8 weeks later no Birks. So went back in, and the owner lady said they weren't in, and she wouldn't have even called us if they did come in because I gave a long distance number. I have a local number so gave that to her. Now going on 10 weeks no Birks, ordered online they'll be here in two days. I usually like to support local businesses in Maui, but add this to to growing list of local businesses that treat locals like trash. read more

If you don't need Birkenstocks today, then shop on the Mainland. This store has a NO REFUND policy. In less than 24hrs. I tried to return a pair of shoes that were never out of the bag. I have spent hundreds of dollars with this store, and they would not give me a refund! Their policy is not clear, so BEWARE!! Shop elsewhere if you can, not on Maui!! I have been having some mild back issues lately and have been eyeing a pair of Comos online due to they more modern look. Dropped in after flying in to Maui today. It's about 5 minutes away from the airport. The lady that was working there (short blondish hair) was very helpful and showed me how my foot should sit in the right size for me. I would have bought a shoe 2 sizes too big a without this education. The didn't have my size there but did so at the Kihei location which she happily called to hold the shoes for me. I tried on a pair of sandals that felt comfortable and decided to wear it out. After several hours I noticed that the sales tag on my sandals was $30 less than I was charged so called to find out if I could get back what should be owed but told to wait until the manager was available which was inconvenient on my part. Called later and was told to bring in the box, sandal, receipt & tag. Because I'm super busy and spending my time and gas, I called & asked if it was worth going in and was told "yes" because they needed to see and correct the mistake for the next sales person. Took off extra time from work and FINALLY got back what was owed. I don't think I'll purchase from that store again after all that hassle, people are too busy to go back and forth for someone else's mistakes. A lot of Bad review of this store, it's not, they have a new staff and are very able to work with you to make special orders on shoes. Reminder on the Birkenstock company, Birkenstock is a company from Germany and when they have a new style, Birkenstock company is only making a few amount and shipped over to the USA. This is why it may take a month to have your special orders shipped to HAWAII. This is why it is important if you are a Birkenstock fan to keep in touch with the local Birkenstock stores, they have a Instagram and Facebook search, BirkenstockHawaii, to see new arrivals, and call or message to save your size to try on. The Birkenstock USA website has all of the new arrivals if you want to look up a style # and ask a store to hold when they do arrive to Hawaii that is no problem with Naturally Birkenstock. I have ordered and have been called back to let me know when my item was received. You just need to have patients when ordering from Hawaii to Germany. Keep in mind they do store transfers from Lahaina, Kihei, Town, Oahu, and Big Island that can take 2 to 4 days, which means saving gas! read more
