Target reopened this past Monday after getting flooded and I had to work so I didnt run to Target like I secretly wanted to lol. I Told myself I would wait a few weeks but I lied. I went after I finished doing laundry this morning and ZERO regrets. They moved some things around and it looks like they are replacing their rugs because there are no rugs. Some sections are still kind of bare like ive seen in photos but their workers are hustling and bustling despite the chaos and entitled and rude customers. I happened to witness this actually when I was asking a worker if they moved their greeting cards and a lady could not go around us! She demanded that she go right through us. This Target was well stocked with your typical things you'd find in a grocery and home store. They have tons of assorted things in the dollar goods area and it's pretty big. The prices are very moderate. They have plenty of trendy clothes, decor and the sort. I was able to find pepperoni here with the sandwich meats instead of with pizza making goods. Overall not too bad but the checkout lane can feel kind of long and a bit hectic. read more

I picked up several packages of the Li Hing Jumbo Sour Watermelon & Li Hing Strawberry Sour Belts at $2.99 per 3-oz. bag. Not only are they better priced, they also have a softer chew. Like all Target stores, this Maui location was a one-stop shop for essentials. Upon landing, we stocked up on water & other beverages, but I was super ecstatic to have found those Enjoy candies while browsing the snack aisles. Service sucked big time! No one in line went up to the counter. Older woman standing there, no hi, as I stand there with my bar code. She just yells out to a coworker "I'll show you." And walked away - SMH. Already not showing signs of good service. Another younger woman "I can help you here" I think, okay this is looks promising. I thought too soon. She came back "oh, she going get em fo you." As she waved her hand in a manner of dismissal and disrespect. I had no idea who 'she' was. Yo Target what kind of three ring circus are you running? I had order pick up before and service was great - cordial and informative. In fact, there were at least a dozen workers just talking story - so inappropriate and unprofessional. Finally, someone came and set them straight - the line was getting longer as the workers were too busy playing on company time. There a bunch of people that want to work and most probably will give way better service than the circus did today. I hope something changes soon. read more

I was trying to buy some stuff for my camera and the kid that was 'helping me' wouldn't let me hold the box to read the instructions or necessary accessories making me feel like he thought I was going to steal it. All the other kids working were just standing around gossiping about how one of them walked out of a job because the lady at gnc didn't make him a manager and their Xbox games, and don't know how to run a register. I tried using a visa gift card to purchase something and the entire team that was working tonight gave me a hard time about it. They kept telling me I needed an access code but I kept telling them it wasn't a target gift card, it's a Visa gift card and you have to run it as a manual debit card. I've worked so many POS systems in so many different industries and they're not hard to operate. I've never worked with one that doesn't let you enter a debit card number. They made a huge spectacle out of the situation and not one of them offered a solution. They gave up so fast from even trying. I used the same gift card earlier today and had no issues. The store I used it at, the lady at the register said 'oh I've never seen this before, let me try this' and figured it out and got me checked out in 5 mins. These kids working at target didn't have any customer service, knowledge about their products, or workplace etiquette. read more

Whereas Walmart and Costco have many more selections catering to us visitors. Atmosphere - Consistent, identical to mainland Targets. Plenty of mall parking. Open 7 days a week from 7am to 10pm. Service - Good. Price - Normal Hawaiian prices. I love Target stores, though it may not seem like they have a lot like mainland, but they have cute stuff. The items are more to last longer the value of their item is worth buying than going to another store. Honestly a little disappointed in Target after visiting Costco and Walmart in search of food souvenirs. There's very little local or Hawaii items. It felt like I was back on the mainland. You'll get mainland-ish priced which is nice. (Comparing $5 Oreos at Walmart to $4 Oreos at Target.) But in terms of souvenirs, there's one side of an aisle dedicated to souvenirs (Starbucks pineapple tumblers, basic flavors of macadamia nuts.) What a lost opportunity. read more

This may also be a sign that I come here too much... Lol. I've had a love affair with Target for years that dates back to my college days living in Colorado. After I moved back to Maui, I missed the store and often prayed one would open up here. Fast forward to 2013 and viola ~ we've had weekly dates ever since. Sometimes 2, 3, even 4 times a week. I mean right when you walk into the store you're greeted with Bullseye's Playground-- a grab-and-go mecca of curated seasonal products with killer dollar deals. You can plan a whole party based on all the products sold in this little section alone! YAAAS. You can also fill up goodie bags or gift baskets for the kiddos with all the fun little trinkets here and it doesn't break the bank. It comes in clutch when things like Operation Christmas Child rolls around during the holidays, which is one of my favorite things. You can also find so many killer deals around the store & make that deal even sweeter by pairing it with the Cartwheel app, price matching online, & coupons. You just have to have the right timing! I've scored 90% off Christmas items (honestly can't wait to put up my $20 7.5 foot Christmas tree!), 90% off Halloween items, $10 footwear, $2 kids clothes, and countless other items. I'm a little obsessed. There's also this sweet little lady who's name I can't remember now (Rose maybe?)... she was just so nice and cute and polite, I almost wrote a review just for her. 4 stars because the lines and wait times can be quite long, especially around the holidays. Always love a trip to Target when on the island. Frank needed a new book and Target carried the new BILL O'REILLY book, even had a 30% discount on it so wam bam thank you mam, it's in my cart. Also I loaded up on a few personal items like Mac nuts, Spam and condoms for future use with the lady's. Should you need other items they have it from electronics to pampers but I'm not buying neither. My last treat will be a melon slushy on my way out the door to quench my thirst and cool my luscious body down. read more

This Target is located close by the airport, and has only been open for a little over 2 years. While my husband and I visited Maui, we came by this Target a few times to stock up on water, snacks and purchase items we either forgot to pack or did not think to have when we arrived. All Target stores have the same standard layout and departments. But what makes this Target location unique Hawaii is some of the Hawaiian snack sold here, employees here wear red shirts with Hawaiian print and some Hawaiian food items sold at the food court (saimin, spam musubi and sushi rolls). Employees we interacted with were friendly. When you come by, don't forget to bring a reusable bag for your purchase (you get $0.05 off your total per bag used) and consider opening a Target Red Card, if you don't already have one, to save an additional 5% off your total purchases. read more

Not only was she happy and chatty while she rang us up, but she helped me with the Target app wallet so I could use my discount, wasn't phased by my printed email gift card, and made sure we had found everything we wanted instore during our visit. The amount of love I have for target is overwhelming. I like how clean it is and how it has a lot more Pinterest inspired home decor. The walls are always filled with products and I like how they have fresh produce. I will say that target has way higher prices than Walmart but I will always choose to come here. One of my favorite sections is the makeup area. The shelves are clean and the makeup is always restocked. The prices for makeup here are about the same compared to other places like Ulta and Walmart. ALSO Target added this little pizza place with really cheap food like pasta, pizza, and bread rolls and a Starbucks. The convenience of this location is amazing and I will always love it. read more
