Basically I found Island Feet to be a glorified HOKA shoe store that also sells sandals. The old Walking Company store checked for pressure points on your feet and helped fit shoes and/or orthotics. The only real help I received at Island Feet was to determine the size of shoe I needed and was given a few boxes of HOKA's to try on. read more

My husband has very white feet and 10 1/2 size and he has trouble finding shoes that fit well. The manager found him a perfect shoe for his feet M. Bondi. He is so happy with his shoes and it looks so cute on him. The manager also saw my curled up toes and said I know what kind of shoes you mean I have flip-flops on. OMG, when we moved to Maui we started to buy all our footwear there and could not remember why we stopped. We heard such favorable reviews from Cindy on the radio so we decided to buy some shoes and socks there. We walked in and the employees remained seated and acted as if we were invisible. When we asked for help he just pointed to a pile of boxes. When we asked to see a particular pair of shoes he reluctantly got up walked over to us and pointed to the 3rd box from the top. Never did he offer to help us try on a pair, he just went back to his desk. When we finally asked for the third of fourth time an ower came out from the back and with a disgusted look said they were out of stock. WE WALKED OUT, disgusted never to return, sorry Cindy. Wonderful shop! We stopped by to get a pair of Hoka's while on the island. VERY friendly and the owner is SUPER KNOWLEDGABLE! They fit you just right. Wonderful customer service when the size we wanted in another shoe wasnt in the shop. They were able to have it by the next day. The selection was crazy (in a good way). So while the 'Sunday guy' was giving me a lot of attitude he couldn't figure out the receipt and accused me of walking out the door without paying for the slippers last week. He did give me the credit and then said "well Lucky you! you got some FREE shoes today"... What?! I didn't get anything but attitude and I'm walking out without any shoes...? I tried to like this place, I truly did. Seems like it's the only shop on the island to buy quality trail shoes, and I like investing my money locally. Floor to ceiling stacked shoe boxes. Everywhere. Good luck if you're pushing a stroller or, god-forbid, using a wheelchair. Claustrophobic. Fire hazard. I went twice. The first time, a Sunday, the guy told me I picked the wrong day to shop. He's all sold out of sizes 7-9 in any color-way. Replenishment order coming Tuesday. Seems like this information would result in better or more frequent size-run ordering, but what do I know. I had picked the wrong day. It was my fault. I came back on my next day off, Thursday, hoping for a better experience. It was busier with more customers. I found more size 10s, certainly, but nothing in my common size (8.5) anywhere. Same guy belittling another customer about some pain management option she chose for some foot ailment, and also because her feet were in the wrong size sandals he said. The first guy basically showed me where the shoes/boxes were and I pulled the box myself and tried them on with no help from him at all. he just walked away. Sorry I have to give a single star after my last glowing reviews but I agree with Shawn and Shayla's reviews below. Steve is arrogant, rude and very unhelpful. I have spent over $300 on shoes in this store in the last month and been really impressed with Ty's excellent and helpful customer service. I walked in yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon to an empty store and asked Steve, the only employee there, for help with Vionic shoes as I haven't worn them before. Steve was brusque and unhelpful, pointed to the size 7s row and walked away leaving me to try to work out which shoes were the best for my foot problem. I went around to the counter to ask for help with a style and Steve said they had them instore, but in a box. He said he didn't want to unpack anything and to "come back tomorrow to see if I've unpacked it". I live on the West side, a 2 hour round trip to this store. I really wanted to try the style I requested as it has ankle straps not just a straight slipper. So....I left the store, ignored by Steve, not even a goodbye or thank you, drove home and ordered the shoes I wanted on the internet with a coupon cheaper than I can buy them at Island Feet. I won't be returning. Much as I like Ty, his store and stock, I just can't tolerate the arrogance and unfriendliness of his staff anymore. read more

Went in on Thursday after getting a massive blister from some old walking shoes. I explained the blister and not being quite ready to try on yet. Tyler still took the time to talk to me about what my options were when I returned ready to try on shoes. He was so helpful! This is a fantastic store for people with orthopedic problems, and people who want to avoid them. There's a large, logically-arranged selection of Hokas, Oofos, and other orthopedic brands in different colors and attractive styles. The store can even make orthotics for you, and the salespeople are friendly and helpful. They're open 7 days a week. We were looking for light hiking sandals in Maui, and found this gem of a footwear store. It's locally owned, and the owner is one of the most knowledgeable footwear experts I have met! He not only took the time to recommend what we needed, but also patiently explained *why* he recommended what he did. We ended up getting some comfy flip-flops as well :) The sandals were perfect for our Hawaii trip (we wore them literally everyday), and would probably last a long time. Great customer service! I've been a long time patron of this store because of their great selection. There is a certain shoes I buy in every color and unfortunately 2 pairs were defective and came apart. I contacted the manufacturer who would do nothing - I was very disappointed because the shoes hadn't hardly been worn. I went into Island Feet and talked to Steve (owner) - He told me to bring them in, exchanged them no questions asked! MAHALO!!!! I ended up buying an additional 2 pairs because he was so nice! IslandFeet has a fairly large selection of slippers and shoes made for arch suport and comfort. I bought a pair of Teva slippers 5 months ago in May (confirmed by owners son). I also spent and additional $100.00 for a gift card for my wife, bc she has issues with her feet. We went in to buy my wife's slippers, and we actually spent more than the gift card, as she bought two pair. I was so happy with them, I recommened friends and visitors (work in the hotel industry) to you, IslandFeet. Three of which, I know they purchased slippers from. They worked great! Until... I went camping, and over a cold night, the top of my Teva shrivelled and separated. I took them in today (Oct 19, 2016) to see what they could do. I told them I bought them maybe 6 months ago. The owner and son winced and said 6 months is a little tight. They'll see what they can do. The son said, it's been five months, it's normally a three month window warranty. There's nothing I can do. Of course I'm upset. I walked out and said to the owner, "This is what $75 slippers gets you?" He told me, "Sorry, there's nothing we can do." Not until I was standing in the parking lot, taking a picture of my slippers and his store front, did he come out and say, "Let us replace those for you." Told him no thanks, going to make sure he gets raving reviews. He then said, "Is it fair he sold a defective pair of slippers?" Is it fair I bought a pair of defective pair, that lasted a mere 5 months?? The other lady in a previous review got hers replaced no problem after seven month's, which I'm happy for. I like the Vionic brand. This was the only place selling them thats open during pandemic. I found a nice pair of Vionic and luckily got them on sale so I saved some money. =) I was also looking for new running shoes and the person there was very helpful and showed me the Hoka brand shoes. Its apparently their best selling shoes. They were pretty pricey and my walking shoes normally last 2 yrs so we'll see if this was worth the price. read more

Steve was super helpful in helping me pick a flip flop that didn't hurt or irritate my feet. I spent about half an hour trying to decide if I wanted my tried and true Hokas, but we found a brand called Oofos that Steve introduced us to. He did a quick test to see which slipper would be best, and lo and behold I was finally able to choose the Oofos! Incredibly helpful and insightful, definitely go here. Aloha local folks, my wife and I have passed by this establishment many, many times. Having said that, I have purchased shoes from everywhere. Recently, I found myself at Island Feet, since I was looking for relief from a knee replacement and flat feet, with constant feet soreness. At first, the sales representative with his directness and approach can be misconstrued. However, at the end of the day, I see nothing but pride, understanding the shoe market, and how many people he has helped in the process. The first set of shoes he brought me, were what I took home. He brought an additional pair out, which I also purchased. These shoes do exactly what I was told at Island feet they would do! Now wearing these shoes, the soreness in my feet have passed. So thank you for your knowledge, directness and getting me in and out, the whole process was a good experience. The bottom line: I bought orthotics for myself, my husband, and a pair of Tevas. The owners are knowledgeable and will take good care to get you the right product for what you need. I recommend. The deets: ok, I live on the US mainland so it's not super likely I'll go back, BUT you can call and have them ship your orthotics or shoes! And since Hawaii is US (duh, I know), it is the same to ship in a flat rate box from there as it would cost on the mainland.
