I'm going to start by saying that you should absolutely 100% hire these guys for your wedding. Hands down. No questions. It does not get more professional, polished, A-game than the crew at Naturally Delicious. That said, let me rewind. We got married in September 2015 at The Green Building in Brooklyn. Awesome venue, but it's a blank space and you have to bring in everything yourself. And unless you're like, a professional bride, or have been planning your wedding since you're a kid, that can be a pretty daunting task. We had no clue what we wanted aside from good food, good music and good drinks. We met Alison from Naturally Delicious at a wedding expo at The Green Building after I had already kind of had my mind made up on 2 other caterers. I found the whole wedding planning process to be so insanely overwhelming, I kind of just wanted to make decisions and move along. My husband, however, being the more thorough "take your time" kind of guy, stopped and spoke with Alison (thankfully!!!). We went in to meet with Alison at the ND space (which is amazing, btw), and learned more about their menu offerings, their pricing, and their overall way of working. I did not think we needed a coordinator (which, yes, comes at a premium) and had originally thought it was an upsell of sorts but here's the thing. People who say you don't need someone to help you out as a coordinator on your wedding day are either incredible at multi tasking, really good at convincing family/friends to do some dirty work for them for free, or crazy. Because if it wasn't for Alison as our day-of coordinator, the day would have never, NEVER, gone off as smoothly as it did. So, yes. You pay for that service, but I will add this. We tried our best to keep budget in mind. Food and drink were incredibly important to us, but we needed to be realistic about how much we wanted to pay. Alison actually worked WITH us to figure out how we could save. Down to the last minute, during which we had a last minute cancelation, and she even took that headcount off the invoice. She helped us with recommendations on flowers, music, lighting, you name it. She offered advice about things like guest books, and favors. She even helped us set up a special brown liquor bar for late night in the speakeasy at the venue. On the day of, Alison was clutch. She kept everyone on schedule, had her staff waiting for us with drinks after we came back down the aisle. We were just in the absolute best of hands with Alison running the show. She kept things moving through the course of the night so that we didn't have to think about a thing. And we didn't. Instead, we danced all night long. Which was exactly our plan. There is a level of trust, and assurance that comes with working with Naturally Delicious. Their staff is so insanely on top of their game, not to mention, they are the nicest people. We have received so so much feedback from our guests, not just talking about the food and how good it was (get the red-wine braised short ribs, people!) but telling us how wonderful the service was. How they had never been to a wedding with such impeccable service and such friendly staff. Alison and the team at ND are golden. They work their tushes off to make your day perfect, and we truly could not have been more pleased with the outcome. My only regret was not eating more dinner that night! There simply aren't enough glowing adjectives to describe how I feel about Naturally Delicious. Many years ago, I hired Loren Michelle and Naturally Delicious to cater my son's Bar Mitzvah as well as a couple of house parties, all of which were wonderfully positive experiences. Recently, when I needed to plan a bridal shower at my home (within a pretty tight time frame) I found myself, once again, calling again on Naturally Delicious' expertise. I found that, like fine wine (which they also know more than a thing or two about), Naturally Delicious has only improved over time. Loren and Jacob Heger came to my home for a site visit, listened to my ideas for the party, and immediately assessed what would be needed in order to make the shower happen in the way I envisioned. I had (too) many ideas, but no definitive answers, especially about the food for the party. My main goal was to serve dishes that the bride (with very strict dietary restrictions) could eat, while developing a menu of items that worked well together and that the other guests would enjoy. Honestly, this was no small feat, but Loren and Jacob happily took on the challenge. They offered several options and suggestions, and ultimately helped me to plan a delicious menu - so unique and compatible - that the guests did not even realize the dietary considerations. In addition, they figured out how to transform the limited space in my home to accommodate the sizable crowd in order to make things comfortable. During the planning stage, there was no detail too small, and Jacob was thoughtful, yet practical, in his ideas and recommendations. He checked in periodically to make sure all was on track and that all my needs (and concerns) were being met - always with the most positive demeanor and "can do" attitude - precisely who every hostess wants in her corner! The morning of the shower Jacob and crew arrived bright and early, ready to pull everything together. To say that I breathed a sigh of relief when I realized the very capable hands I was in, would be an understatement. The entire crew was absolutely top notch. They were sensitive to my needs and the needs of my guests - thoroughly professional, yet warm and approachable - the perfect formula for a successful party atmosphere. Each of them went above and beyond what I expected and every guest felt attended to and special. The bride/guest of honor was over the moon. She seriously smiled all day long. Obviously, there are other caterers in our area who can provide good food. Naturally Delicious catered our Labor Day weekend wedding at the GreenBuilding and were absolutely amazing at everything. We don't even know where to begin to shower the compliments upon ND and our coordinator Bethany Pickard. So let's start at the beginning. Services: We decided to go with ND after our initial meeting with Bethany. We were impressed with their transparency, the ability to customize your own menu and in comparison to other caterers, the value we'd get for our money. We were in particular pleased that we would have a point person to work with as the wedding planning went by and who would be our day of on the special day. Little did we know that Bethany would end up being our wedding planner and awesome consultant along the entire way. We honestly miss planning a wedding with her now that its all over. She was so lovely and helpful and put us at ease throughout the entire process -- it was like planning a wedding with a friend. She took us for our linens and design elements, had a good relationship with our other vendors and had great recommendations and kept the behind the scenes in order so we didn't have to worry about anything. Can't say enough. Really -- our wedding was amazing and it was in no small part due to her. Bethany -- we love you! Food: Food was so important to us and we found ND's staff to deliver exactly what we wanted. First of all, their menus are completely customizable and flexible. We wanted a cocktail hour that would showcase our favorite foods in NYC for our out of town guests, so they were able to create mini shake shack burgers, momfuku pork buns, etc, etc. Everyone raved. Also, we wanted to recreate a salad we had once had from a favorite restaurant and they did that (and in fact, did it better) and then for our family style dinner, the chef at ND worked with us on different sauces to make sure everything was just right. They made sure we were happy and were open to any suggestions we had. They took us seriously and we appreciated that. We will miss the little twix bars ND makes for dessert. Staff: The wedding went off without incident. The staff made sure that everyone had enough to eat and drink and ran a tight ship. Our dance floor got a bit rowdy and glasses were broken (it was a good party) and staff members were there immediately to clean up and keep things going. Kudos to them. Transparency and pricing: Everything is laid out upfront and throughout. There were no hidden costs, no hidden tips or taxes. We also found that ND were helpful in sticking within our budget and coming up with ideas so we wouldn't sacrifice any quality. We loved ND. Thank you for such a wonderful time!!! read more

Naturally Delicious was recommended to me by a friend, who had used them for their wedding the previous year, and all I can say is they did not disappoint, the food is innovative and a breath of fresh air to the wedding industry. The lovely and talented Shannon McCormick was our event coordinator for our June 9th, 2012 wedding that was held at The Green Building. Shannon is attentive and fun to work with from the very beginning, and her good nature doesn't go away after you sign over the deposit check. Shannon was extremely prompt in returning e-mails and always willing to answer any silly question my fiancé or myself threw at her. Shannon collected all our vendor information months before the wedding and even took all our candy/jars for the candy bar, our wedding favors, photo's for the photo table, signs and entrance table decorations a few days before the wedding, which meant I could relax the morning of the wedding knowing Shannon and her staff would set this all up for me and my fiance just how we had described in the Naturally Delicious spreadsheets that Shannon get's you to fill out. For the event itself, Shannon was at the Green Building the entire night, her presence was amazingly calming and helpful in maintaining the flow of the wedding. The other Naturally Delicious staff were so friendly and attentive, they felt like extended guests at our wedding. Most importantly, the food was amazing and all the guests were raving about it from the second the appetizers went out. The chicken empanadas were a stand out appetizer of the night, and also not to be missed are the the sliders and sweet potato fries. Shannon made sure that one of the waiters followed us around the entire night making sure we ate and always had a drink from the bar so we could spend more time enjoying our wedding. They even made us a special plate of all the passed appetizers that we could enjoy after taking a small break from the wedding after spending over an hour standing in the receiving line (we had our ceremony and reception at the same location). You will not be disappointed with Naturally Delicious! They even take care of the clean up.... Oh and any leftovers from the wedding, they pack up for you for a midnight snack... which we seriously appreciated once we finally made it to our hotel room at the end of the night With the help of the wonderful and amazing Shannon, our wedding was truly the most fun and stress-free night ever and one we will remember forever. read more

Me and my husband hired them for our November '15 wedding (after deciding not to proceed with another vendor who turned out to be unresponsive) and were so happy with the experience of working with them from day one. We can't say enough positive things about this company! Alison Szleifer was our main point of contact/wedding coordinator and she was extremely professional, thorough, organized, responsive and reliable. Me and my husband felt at ease throughout the whole process of planning our menu and run-of-day with her. ND provides a wonderful day-of-coordination service along with food and beverage service and so we didn't have to orchestrate our vendors day-of, but rather fully enjoy each part of the celebration. The cost of services was very reasonable compared to competitors that we researched, and the food was full of flavor, in tune with the fall season, beautifully presented and sustainable. We welcomed guests with a warm cup of apple cider (a fun touch) and we loved our appetizer choices (butternut squash soup shots, black bean and corn empanadas, vegetable samosas, pigs-in-blankets, tomato jewel cakes, Mediterranean meze assortment with international breads and dips). Our guests raved about them, and they were not in excess. We had a simple yet delicious beet and arugula salad for starters, followed by a buffet with butternut squash lasagna, short ribs, barbecue chicken with corn bread, mixed grain salad and kale with white bean side dishes. Each dish was savory, full of flavor but not overly anything! The desserts were equally wonderful - we selected the Twix bars and Pecan Pie bites, along with a fruit salad and coffee/tea bar - it was a fantastic array. The ND team who assisted day of was extremely professional, friendly, and efficient - we were thrilled with their service and our guests told us many times after the event how wonderful they were - we couldn't agree more. Bethany was our event coordinator and two weeks after our wedding I'm in withdrawal having no planning email conversations with her! We had the best time with her throughout the planning stages and felt as though everyone from her to the entire staff had a personal, invested and caring interest to ensure our wedding day was perfect. This means more to us than anything. I recently had the pleasure with working with Naturally Delicious (Lisa, specifically, was our primary coordinator) for my wedding. I was married in New York, but I live in Asia and thus planned the wedding with the challenge of a 12-hour time difference and not having the luxury of being physically present to have in-person meetings. Regardless, Lisa made the process as easy as it possibly could be, was so responsive and helpful, and provided me with the structure and organization I so desperately needed! The day of the event, we simply couldn't have done it without her - from the beginning to the end, she coordinated with our venue, all of our vendors, organized our tables, escort cards, guest book, timeline, you name it - she left no detail unattended to, and left me with practically nothing to worry about (perhaps the best gift a bride can ask for). Importantly, the food! Our guests simply raved (we went with the filet mignon and the halibut as choices, amazing raw bar during the cocktail hour with yummy small bites including mini lobster rolls) - some guests literally got up in the middle of dinner to walk to our table to tell us how delicious everything was, and the compliments kept coming throughout the night. The fondant cake that ND's pastry chef created was beyond our wildest dreams - a globe atop two suitcases (we had a travel themed wedding) that looked too good to eat, but was incredibly delicious. The entire ND staff were also incredibly attentive, and made sure we wanted for nothing, which was so appreciated, a true treat! Our son and daughter-in-law had a fabulous wedding catered by Naturally Delicious at the Green Building. We had used Naturally Delicious once before for my husband's 60th birthday and been impressed with their service and the quality of the food. But the food and service fort he wedding felt even more extraordinary. We were treated incredibly nicely throughout the process, which included an initial planning session, a tasting session, which was more like a mini banquet, and several other meetings as well as follow-up emails. Viva, who guided us through the process, was amazing. She offered options, listened well, and gave the support and guidance throughout the process--she was as much a wedding planner as a caterer. She really seemed to care about the wedding and us and want it all to be as lovely and easy as possible. At one point when we thought we had way over invited, she remained calm and started making new table arrangements. When we realized we had miscounted and returned to the original numbers, she was equally unflappable. She really seems to have a passion for what she does. In addition, the food was incredible--everything was delicious and we were able to have quite a bit of variety with the family style service they offered--three main courses that everyone could partake of and the price seemed quite reasonable for the quality and quantity and service. Viva had worked with the Green Building before and helped us make the most of that beautiful space. Just had my wedding last night catered by Naturally Delicious. Well, not only catered, we also had them as our Event Planner as well. THANK GOD we did. They were the best to work with. Our Event Planner, Jenny, was on the ball, all of the time. Sometmes we were getting questions answered through email just as we're think of them. She handled everything, changing guest lists, quests with special needs, dietary menu changes, etc!!! Everyone at Naturally Delicious were super nice and helpful, including when we stopped by several times during the whole process. The menu ideas were amazing and respectful of the food restrictions of several of our guests. Our menu tasting was amazing, several wonderful takes on comfort food. All of guests gushed about the menu and service. The staff during the wedding and reception were superhuman in taking care of everyone. Everyone there was helpful, fast and funny. A couple of our guests even made some friends among the staff!! Several guests in wheelchairs and walking canes, and they were well looked after by the staff. Both myself and my wife, were treated to literally, 5 star service, the entire night. At the end of the night, the clean-up and break-down faster then i thought possible. Our close family was with us and they were equally amazing at how fast and clean the place looked in only 35 minutes. And as a fianl surprise, they even helped us bring our wedding album, extra food, flowers, gifts, and other wedding things to our car for the ride home. WOW. What can we say. ND catered our wedding a few weeks ago and end to end this was a superior experience. This is more than just a catering company, this is a full service planning and event service. Our planner Bethany Pickard handled every single detail from the food to the furniture to the glassware. She managed the entire set-up of our venue from the tables to the placement of flowers and all decorative elements. Not a single detail was missed, not a single mistake was made. The entire lead-up to the event and the event itself ran without a hitch. Perfection. Most importantly the standard of the food was superb. ND can create any kind of menu you heart desires. We were able to incorporate personal faves and I was able to make sure that the menu incorporated a great selection of vegetarian food - so often an afterthought at a wedding. The staffing that ND bring in for the event is top tier. Everything moved effortlessly, every need was catered for, every guest had everything they could have wanted. It was beyond professional and just perfect all round. We really can't use enough superlatives to describe the experience we've had with ND. In the cluttered world of NYC and Bklyn caterers, this place really stands out. Also, worth noting to prospective couples - the pricing is extremely clear. There are NO hidden costs here. What you are quoted is what you pay - all tips are included, all fees are included, it's completely transparent. I found that extremely refreshing. Naturally Delicious catered our wedding at the Museum of the Moving Image in September. Loren (the owner) was our planner, and she was absolutely amazing. I've noticed that some of the other reviews on here are for smaller weddings, but they handed our 150 guest event with no problem whatsoever. We're both vegetarians, so all the food that they served was completely veggie. Even the most ardent meateaters at the wedding had zero complaints, and some of them were even fooled into thinking that the veggie sliders served during the cocktail hour were meat. They also made our wedding cake, and it got raves from all the guests (and from us). Loren is a former pastry chef, and the quality was much better than the cakes at other bakeries that we tried. Their vendors are also great. I don't know whether this is standard or not, but their wine and liquor vendor is willing to accept returns for any unopened bottles. So you only pay for what the guests drink, again saving you money. Price-wise, we found that ND was very willing to work with our budget, and we found that they were at least competitive with other caterers, if not more affordable. There was absolutely no pressure from anyone about trying to choose more expensive options or trying to add anything on. They were very understanding that we're just two poor Brooklynites trying to get married without breaking the bank. All in all, a great experience, and we highly recommend them to anybody looking to cater a wedding in New York. read more

Emily rocked it! ND was our caterer and day of coordinators for our wedding at The Foundry, LIC, and I couldn't say enough about Emily. From the moment we met, my husband and I immediately clicked with her. She was patient, understanding, helpful, and went out of her way to work out all of the details for our wedding. We emailed back and forth often, she welcomed our questions, and her responses and professional guidance was consistent. The day of our wedding, I was greeted with smiles and was reassured over and over that everything would turn out perfectly. Speaking of the event; the venue was set up great and as I hoped, the event ran as planned and the little details that I added in were not forgotten. We definitely threw Emily a few (or more =) curveballs and changed up the traditional wedding day events during the planning process but Emily came through for us and the day ran as smoothly as I couldv'e imagined. I worked with the pastry chef to create the cake of my dreams and when I saw it the day of the wedding, I couldn't believe how beautiful it came out. It was a red velvet cake, which tasted out of this world, and is boxed up in my freezer waiting to be eaten on our anniversary. Chef, you did an amazing job! We didn't have one complaint about the food or the wedding as a whole from our guests. In fact, all of our guests commented on how unique and special our wedding was. As soon as I laid my eyes on her website and viewed some of her works of art, I knew this was the caterer for me. Loren Michelle makes such beautiful cakes, with fresh flowers all around, instead of the ordinarysugary ones that most people are so used to. I am so glad that we chose Naturally Delicious for our wedding. They provided top-notch food as well as heaps of help all throughout the planning process. When we were choosing our caterer, I was expecting them to provide food and perhaps rentals, but Naturally Delicious is an all-around wedding coordinator. We had a single point-person, Shannon, who took all of our wedding ideas and plans (no matter how quirkly or challenging) and made them happen. When we told her our plans for the decorations, activities, schedule, and other details, Shannon never discouraged us and she executed our ideas to perfection. She coordinated our rentals, decorations, alcohol, and schedule and was like our own personal Jennifer Lopez on the day of. On our wedding day, from the moment we arrived at the venue, we felt absolutely taken care of and worry-free. Shannon and the staff kept us on schedule without being pushy, were extremely friendly and helpful, and even organized all of our personal decorations at the end of the day for our parents to take back to our apartment. If you are considering using Naturally Delicious as your catering/planning service for your wedding, then read no further: I can safely say that this is the company that you should be using. Pick up the phone, write an email, do whatever it takes to lock down your date now. Naturally Delicious provided superlative food, service, and planning for our wedding in Long Island City. First the food. The appetizers, entrees, and desserts were all huge hits with our guests. We did two buffets with Asian food at one station and Southern Food at the other. Two weeks later and folks are still raving about the cheesy grits. But the even better reason to go with ND is the incredible planning and day-of services they provide. We worked with Emily, who was incredible from day one. Here's a quick list of things that Emily helped make happen at our wedding: a once-in-a-lifetime performance from a magician, our dog as ring-bearer, a table full of 7/11 slurpees spiked with Vodka, a beautiful perfectly timed ceremony, two guys writing haikus for all of our guests, and an epic 3 hour dance party to cap it all off. Basically we got the wedding of our dreams and Emily was a huge part of making that happen. I can't say enough great things about Naturally Delicious. My husband and I were among the "Rebar couples" stranded when our caterer took the money and ran, two months before our wedding. Naturally Delicious stepped in heroically on short notice. Shannon, their event coordinator, worked with us to plan a delicious menu, which worked with a variety of dietary restrictions - pescetarian, kosher meals, etc. Equally importantly, Shannon coordinated *everything* we needed to throw a party at the DUMBO loft, a beautiful but raw space. She got our tables, chairs, plates, linens... everything. People say the bride and groom don't get to eat at their own wedding, but Shannon designated a server to be sure we always had food and drink when we wanted it. She worked with us and our DJ to make sure we could have a rocking party on the dance floor, but quiet conversation for guests who needed or wanted it. She recommended a local and reasonably-priced florist. And she was very considerate of our budget constraints, very clear in the pricing (no hidden costs!), didn't try to up-sell us on extras, and even threw in a discount in consideration of the money we had lost on our first go-round. It's hard to organise a large party. It's even harder to organise a party in another country thousands of miles away, with an international committee of members having different expectations of what you get for your money in a city like NYC, where you feel they tax oxygen consumption. Naturally Delicious were selected as our caterers as Loren showed interest in what we were doing in NYC, she also gave off a sense of calm and professionalism in her communication. USA / NYC do things differently and it was a challenge at times for a group of Europeans to understand that. Loren was very patient, practical in her suggestions and helpful in the process running up to the party. She was also good at dealing with stressed organisers like myself. Her attention to detail was impressive, the food was first class and the wines selected where good. Plus the staff on the night were lovely and made the event go smoothly. Not a lot I can say, other than it would be hard to go wrong with Naturally Delicious, they are not just caterers, they are "Foodie People", people who care about food, fine wine and people. Loren and the team at Naturally Delicious provided fantastic catering for our wedding in April 2015. Emily, who coordinated everything from the ND side, was so responsive, energetic, and considerate throughout the entire process. (It's important to note that in addition to pure catering, they also provide coordination services, which we found to be incredibly helpful given we both work and have no family in the area to keep things moving along.) The food itself was fantastic, our favorites being the New Zealand lamb skewers and lemon her grilled salmon. ND did a great job at handling various allergies (e.g., gluten, nuts, peas/ lentils) and were partners in creating unique aspects we were looking for (e.g., "berry bar" dessert station). In terms of coordination activities, Emily helped us identify potential vendors (including a great wine merchant that allowed returns for unopened bottles!), provided guidance and input on critical decisions (e.g., floor layouts for ceremony, reception, dinner; wine and liquor quantities), and oversaw all on-the-day activities (including coordination with vendor delivery, setup, breakdown, etc.; neither us, nor any representatives needed to be at the venue prior to our ceremony). read more

Stop looking and comparison-shopping and book them at once: You will never regret it. And your guests will be thank you forever! Our family has worked with Loren and her astonishingly great team for family celebrations since 2000 -- parties for 100-200, including a spectacular wedding that was both warm and elegant -- and our experiences have been outstanding, bar none. Loren has tremendous patience, exquisite taste, and great perspective/good humor; she also has a knack for finding staff who share her smarts and savvy, which is no small talent. The food is beyond delectable and the menus were wonderfully fine-tuned to our tastes and the preferences of our guests. ND staff are the best of the best -- impossible to recommend them highly enough. In addition to glorious catering, ND was wonderful helping us 'design' a blank-canvas space, find good deals for our budget and creating events that none of us (or our guests) will ever forget.
