If you read the response of the owner to other reviewers, then this will come as no surprise. This review is solely for the customer service. I never got to the point of having them come clean and I am glad, because the customer service was appalling. I bought a YouSwoop for a cleaning for a 2 bedroom condo. I first tried to contact them a couple of months ago and it took them a couple of days to respond and then they were booked for the next two months. Fair enough, you sold coupons and it gets busy, I will call back; I did not hold this against them. I called back a few days ago and no one called back. Two days later I emailed and to be fair, they did respond relatively promptly and set up an appointment for me. Then they asked how many bathrooms I had and told me there would be an extra charge for anything more than one bathroom (and considering they sold for two and three bedroom cleans, how many only have one bathroom?). Now I am not cheap, but no where in the deal was it mentioned that there was an upcharge for anything except distance. I contacted YouSwoop and asked them to verify that this wasn't in the deal, and they confirmed and said they would be happy to give me a credit as they had for some others. So I emailed the company to cancel my appointment and I did express my displeasure with the fact that they were not keeping to the terms of the written deal. So why the one star? Because this was the response from the owner, in its entirety copied from my email:
"We have a very successful B2B supply chain business. This cleaning business was basically a hobby for my wife. So far, we have over 1500 customers. More than 12% are repeat customers. The others, like yourself, discount bargain hunters with no intentions of repeating no matter the quality of service. We focus on repeat customers. We offer the best deal on the internet for cleaning. We will not clean multiple rooms, multiple bathrooms etc. without being compensated. We don't care how many customers aren't happy as far as that's concerned. We have had several successful business and with the exception of a few black women, a lady with a bunch of cats and a few other disgruntled customers like yourself, out of the 1500 customers we have we have had only 50 customers complain. I will gladly take that percentage any day of the week. Your talking about how much this is going to cost us and such basically had us laughing. Every time we lose a customer like this, we get two real customers that really want good service at a fair price and is willing to pay for it. We have 20 Yelp reviews, and like I said, with the exception of a few black ladies that we just can't please, and a lady with multiple cats, we do ok. Not concerned with people who have nothing better to do than to try to slam small business. We're going to be successful anyway. Piece of advice, next time you're dealing with a company like mine (the larger companies will simple blow you off as a lunatic and wouldn't care at all) contact the merchant. You will find that what we do in bathrooms is so spectacular that you would gladly pay the fee to have it done. There has not been ONE customer that has said "well just do one bathroom" that didn't come back and say "wait a minute, we want the other one done too". Had you contacted us in a professional manner, we would have compromised. But if you're tweaking over a surcharge for an extra room, then I am certain you won't tip nor repeat as a customer unless you have another "discount coupon". Thanks, but no thanks. "
Wow. First off, this is how you respond, by insulting potential customers? And worst of all, why would you mention the race of customers? How is it relevant? A good or bad customer is that, a good or bad customer. The way it was phrased to me seems downright racist. Why, also, would you complain about other customers in an email to a stranger?
It wasn't about the money, I oculd easily afford the upcharge requested; it was about upholding a contract you made via YouSwoop. I will gladly pay more for professional, non prejudiced, non insulting businesspeople. I happen to also love to support small business and am a loyal customer to businesses that treat their customers well.
If you have nothing but contempt for those who first try your business via YouSwoop or other deal sites, may I suggest don't sell on those sites (and if you regret having signed up with them, for heaven's sake, don't take it out on the customers). In parting, may I suggest you leave the customer service to your wife as well.. read more
