I now present to educators across TX on social emotional skills in children. I'm saying this for two reasons- one, because my career has mad me EXTREMELY picky about who I trust my child with. And two- because I have witnessed good and bad teachers and facilities both as an educator AND a mom. My son goes to Goddard full time in the summer. I've been incredibly impressed by the staff's ability to be both professional and personable at the same time. My son has ADHD, along with a few gross motor delays- and can be a handful. His teachers understand what is developmentally appropriate behavior, and how to support his growth moving forward. This has been rare for us and is appreciated in educators working with my son. He is constantly engaged and happy when I pick him up. The teachers are always monitoring and engaged with the children when I arrive. And their photos are a treat! I'm not sure what the enrollment is like in the school year, but for my son, his class numbers seem really low. I am thankful to have found a place I trust my son to be in. After calling over a dozen daycares in the area, only two stood out as worthy of a visit. Our visit at the first daycare was fine enough, but after we left the second daycare - The Goddard School - I immediately drove home and filled out the paperwork to get my still-in-utero son enrolled. I haven't had a single regret since my son started as a 3-month-old. He's 22 months now and can count to 10, name basic shapes and colors, and make sounds for countless animals. He cleans up like a champ and says please and thank you. He loves books and spends most of his time at home reading. I won't give Goddard ALL the credit - I do some things as his parent, of course - but it's a relief knowing that they're teaching him the same concepts and reenforcing the manners we practice at home. Like many daycares nowadays, they do send out updates on each child's day via an app, so at the end of the day I can see what my son ate, how long he napped, when his diaper was changed, the activities he participated in, and a few photos of what he did. And I love that they teach community involvement by participating in programs such as Fill The Bus and the ACO Food Drive. They also have monthly Parents' Night Out and frequent cookouts and festivals. The school is always clean and one of the two owners are on-site the entire time the school is open. I recommend them to everyone!

Our son dreaded going to his summer program until starting kiddie academy. We see him learning and enjoying his peers. He comes home with a smile every day. I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff and owner. From the moment we enrolled our child, we've been impressed with their caring staff and nurturing environment. The teachers are incredibly patient and skilled at fostering both educational growth and emotional development. Our youngest of three has attended Kiddie Academy of Stonebridge-McKinney since he was about 9…read moremonths old (in 2019). We love the teachers, the administrative team, and have celebrated many milestones with classmates & their parents. KA fosters a fun, safe, and healthy environment for the kids, teachers, and parents. The teachers are always creating engaging learning activities for my son. The teachers are super helpful with techniques of transition like bottles to cups, pacifier weening, eating solids, trying new foods, potty training, riding a tricycle, etc. Drop-offs are a breeze, my son looks forward to seeing his friends and teachers each day (if they are on vacation he totally welcomes the change with ease bc all of the teachers are fantastic and he is familiar with all of them) Pickups are also joyful, the excitement to see me and joy to end the day by giving hugs and sharing goodbyes around the classroom and through out the hallways fills my heart! During COVID their mask mandate, dropoff/pickup routine and cleaning protocols kept our minds at complete ease (for our little guy health and a member in our household personal health concerns during unprecedented times). Allen ISD watched the camera that my children were dropped off in the morning late at 7:46 AM. At that time the final bell had rung (7:45 AM) and Allen ISD teachers were no longer on duty and doors were shut. The cadence academy teacher dropped off my children and left them alone without any supervision and drove off the bus. My 8- and 5-year-old children were so scared of being left alone. After this horrible accident my children experienced, I had to enroll them to a different daycare. Very unprofessional and poor management.

I was then transferred to the Allen location "to have my questions answered". Like the other schools I have contacted, I asked what I thought would have been a relatively benign question, "can you explain your curriculum/method to me". The terse response was "If I explain it you wouldn't understand" ?! I'm sorry but if you can't provide me with a succinct synopsis of your methodology- I don't know that I want you to guide my child's first experiences in education.
