Below is a recommendation letter I wrote for the organization for a fund raising application that sums up why the residents of McKinney Texas with young children who love art should check out YOUNG AT ART CHILDREN'S CREATIVE CENTER (www.youngatartmckinney.org). Young at Art provides a very nurturing environment for artisitc experimentation and development. They provide access to various mediums and techniques that go beyond the simple art projects typically found in a children's art class. The staff at the center are very encouraging and caring and help children experiment beyond standard techniques and styles. Additionally, their philosophy and teaching practices encourage the children to participate in their commnity by hosting events that allow the children to participate in the local OB Christmas Parade and in art projets that become part of the community such as window murals and the mural at the OB Gas Station. The art school is a very special place for the students where they can feel at home and accepted, but get to make messes and create masterpieces. I believe that all children benefit from exposure to creating and experiencing art. With the reduction of art classes in public schools, outside community art schools provide an opportunity for children to experience the creativity and joy of art. Young at Art provides this opportunity to the local children of Ocean Beach and Point Loma. They offer scholarships for students who are unable to afford the cost of classes and bring together groups of children who might not otherwise interact. The staff at the school fosters caring and consideration of each child toward their classmates and encourages collaboration amoung the students. If you have a young child who would benefit from attending an art class or camp you should call and talk to Miss Kim the director! I'm sure you will be glad you did.

They were so wonderful and on top of things. This was by far the least stressful party I've ever planned. Alycia the owner was in communication about everything. Miss Megann was in charge the day of the party and she was so wonderful with all the kiddos. They all made slime and had a blast! Megann was so WONDERFUL. The party was absolutely effortless. We showed up with Cupcakes, drinks, and goodie bags. Everything else was handled by A Joyful Mess from plates, napkins, plastic wear, supplies, decorations, cleanup, etc. Thank you so much for a perfect party. We will definitely be back!

Heard offers short and longer nature trails with tons of areas to rest, shade, and signs. Our favorite parts this time were the dragons along the path. Kids from ages 2+ can have a fun time here. Bring a picnic, cold water, and enjoy nature!

Which,it really was back then. Jump forward and civilization has grown right up to the doorstep. However,once you park and enter,another world opens up. They've done a great job of developing the place where you can go and see what north Texas was in its unspoiled condition, as well as participating in organized activities. Such things as flashlight night walks for all ages to the fund raiser I attended today. There's something for everyone especially if you're new to this area. Our son dreaded going to his summer program until starting kiddie academy. We see him learning and enjoying his peers. He comes home with a smile every day. I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff and owner. From the moment we enrolled our child, we've been impressed with their caring staff and nurturing environment. The teachers are incredibly patient and skilled at fostering both educational growth and emotional development. Our child looks forward to going each day, which speaks volumes about the center's warm atmosphere and engaging activities. As parents, we feel confident and grateful knowing our child is in such capable hands. Highly recommend!

Our youngest of three has attended Kiddie Academy of Stonebridge-McKinney since he was about 9…read moremonths old (in 2019). We love the teachers, the administrative team, and have celebrated many milestones with classmates & their parents. KA fosters a fun, safe, and healthy environment for the kids, teachers, and parents. The teachers are always creating engaging learning activities for my son. The teachers are super helpful with techniques of transition like bottles to cups, pacifier weening, eating solids, trying new foods, potty training, riding a tricycle, etc. Drop-offs are a breeze, my son looks forward to seeing his friends and teachers each day (if they are on vacation he totally welcomes the change with ease bc all of the teachers are fantastic and he is familiar with all of them) Pickups are also joyful, the excitement to see me and joy to end the day by giving hugs and sharing goodbyes around the classroom and through out the hallways fills my heart! During COVID their mask mandate, dropoff/pickup routine and cleaning protocols kept our minds at complete ease (for our little guy health and a member in our household personal health concerns during unprecedented times). Kiddie Academy of Stonebridge-McKinney is a great school for my family.
