It's everything you want from a place that just sells cool rocks. It feels like old America, like it's been here since the 50s. It has a small-ton vibe, transporting really. It's got lots of cool sparkly, shiny, colorful, blows-my-mind-this-forms-on-its-own things to look at and touch. At the center of all of it is a proprietor who completes the experience. Magnifying goggles sit atop of his head at all times, like they live there, ready at any time to inspect the mineral in front of him. He possesses seemlingly infinite enthusiasm for conversation about the objects in his shop, as if a sale is less a transaction and more an act of sharing. I've noticed he seems to spontaneously mark items down as he's wrapping and loading them carefully in the bag, just because. So , this is a natural mineral store, but a gold mine if you are spiritual/holistic and like to collect various stones and crystals . There are tons of raw form crystals ! I was in awe . Nice, little gem and mineral/fossil store. The owner was friendly and knowledgeable! Even though the store seemed small, there was plenty to browse through. The prices were also decent. I was fascinated of the lab grown bismuth, because of their color and shape. I bought one for a gift, but unfortunately while the owner was packaging it up, a piece broke off. He handled the situation well and gave me the option to replace it with another one that was similar. Overall, this little store is great and the owner gave me great customer service! This place is a hidden "gem" nestled in the Square at Downtown Carrollton. They have a beautiful collection of rocks and collectibles! They're prices are extremely fair and the staff is very knowledgeable and welcoming. I purchased a geode and the nice gentleman invited me and all of the other customers to watch as he cracked open the rock. As he was working to crack open the geode he provided really cool facts about my specific rock such as is origin, age, and the environmental causes that shaped the rock we were looking at. This is a great mini adventure for the kids that is affordable, educational, and fun! I have been telling all of my friends about this place and will definitely be back soon! read more

It's been several years since I discovered this awesome place, and I still love it. The selection is impressive, the prices are very fair, the owner is very kind and knowledgeable, and there's something for everything: the seasoned collector, the tourist, and children. It's so obvious the owner operates this shop out of passion first, not profit. The way he inspires people about rocks and makes it so that a kid with even just $1 or $2 can leave with really cool stuff: how awesome! I love listening to the owner tell shoppers anything they want to know about how each rock or mineral was formed while I browse the shelves. You can find out great places to find your own rocks and fossils too. I literally have to browse each shelf multiple times to notice everything. The shop isn't huge, but there's more variety and collector-grade rocks and minerals here than in shops 5 times the size. And because the prices are fair the turnover is good. Gosh, I love this place! It's located in the downtown Carrollton square next to a Cajun restaurant. This was my second time stolling inside and it makes me wish I had a ton of disposable income to spend! (Kinda like when I'm in Nordstrom's.) The owner is a geologist and loves talking about his rocks & minerals and what not, but he's not into the metaphysical aspect of their properties so don't bother asking. I have not compared their prices to other places but he does have a very impressive collection of items for sale as well as items not for sale in his private collection showcase. Nature's Gallery was a nice, older place. The lady behind the counter was really very nice, and tried to be as helpful as possible. The owner was out the day we came as he was at a gem/rock show. My husband and I have always been interested in rocks and minerals and recently decided to start trying to learn about healing used in conjunction with rocks and minerals. They had a small, but nice selection of jewelry, and many things behind the glass that was marked, and was visibly old with much history. I love that sort of thing. I like buying rocks, but more than that I like to learn about them as well. I'm hoping to come back when the owner is in so I can ask him questions. So, to preface I'm kind of dork in that I find rocks really beautiful and fascinating. When I used to live in Carrollton, on either my drive home from work or on one of the many occasions I would eat at Babes, I would always see Natures Gallery (or The Rock Shop is what I would always call it in my head). I always wanted to go visit this store but something would always come up and either they would be closed or I would just forget to venture in. FINALLY, after eating at Babes one Saturday I was like "I have to go check this place out" and I'm so glad I did! Natures Gallery showcases some of the most beautiful rocks and fossils I've seen. In fact, several pieces found in the shop really reminded me of what I saw in the Museum of Natural Science in Houston. The owner is really friendly and very knowledgable and the pricing of the stores merchandise is really quite reasonable! One star gets deducted for presentation...if 'Natures Gallery' showcased the rocks/fossils/minerals better it could almost be a museum. Instead all you get is florescent lighting...bleh. read more
