So my daughter ordered flowers for me for my birthday. The order was given to this florist. She paid close to $80 - I received a vase with 4 carnations and 2 small bunches of mums and babies breath. When she called them she was told it was because they had to pay fees , so that is all they could do. I would suggest they not accept orders if that is the quality of what they can provide . I called Lisa to personally order white roses with purple accent flowers. I volunteered to spend an extra $20. there had been a death in the family. The flowers that arrived had not one(!) white rose and I would have done much better at Acme's florist department. The owner, Dave, assured me they would send another arrangement with the white roses. IT WAS NOT DELIVERED. If you like gambling, I suggest your odds are better in Vegas than ordering flowers here. Ordering flowers to be delivered far, far away is always dicey. But with me in LA and the mom in New Jersey, what's a guy to do? Fortunately, Nature's Gift does not disappoint. I don't like calling 1-800-FLOWERS or one of the consolidators; I find the florist on Yelp and call them directly. This place has been my go-to east coast florist for years. You can choose an arrangement from their web site, but I usually let them work with the best flowers at hand. I know the modern trend is the tight-knit flower arrangement barely four inches high. Not for me. I like it big, big, big -- tall vase, long flowers and lots of scent. For somewhere between $50 and $75, Nature's Gift always puts together something that will have my mom's friends saying, oh wow your son is awesome. This review is based upon delivery only. I made an order for flowers via 1800flowers.com and this was the local florist that they did the order through. I ordered a "medium" size arrangement of daisies and miscellaneous flowers; there were small and large options too. Daisies are my mom's favorite, but they had the usual roses, tulips, etc. too. The arrangement cost $49.99 plus a $14.99 fee. You can view my flowers in the photos, I took a few pictures. The service was for next day and they arrived just before 3pm. No delays or problems with delivery at all. My mom loved the flowers, and they are very nicely arranged. I also had a small notecard that was an option on the website come with it. I went with three stars instead of four because of the card being handwritten instead of printed. I think it would have been much nicer if it had been typed instead. The person who wrote it had very nice cursive handwriting, but it takes a lot more effort to read than just standard typing. Also, just a few leaves had a little browning/dying qualities. I know the flowers are the point of the arrangement, but it was noticeable and I think since the leaves are there, they do contribute to aesthetics. Overall nice flowers and I would order again most likely. read more

I ordered through 1-800-Flowers and this was the florist used to create my order. The arrangement I picked cost $150 plus shipping/tax. The arrangement I chose was the largest size and had at least 6 sunflower and 6 large roses mixed with other flowers. The first arrangement sent was very sloppy, had 1 sunflower, some roses and filler. Looked nothing like what was chosen. When 1-800-Flowers agreed to send a replacement, this florist called my mom and told her to pack up the first one and give it back before they'd replace it. She was told she could keep the balloon. How nice. The replacement arrangement is better but still nothing close to the size or quality of what I paid for. This is incredibly tacky and bad business practices to inconvenience the recipient for your poorly made arrangements. I will never use 1-800-Flowers or this local florist ever again. i used nature's gift for all my wedding flowers... boquets, centerpieces, the entrance piece, etc., and i was 100% satisfied. jerry was awesome. he spent a ton of time talking with us and helping us achieve our goals within our budget. he seems to be a master of low-cost, expensive-looking arrangements... i don't even want to tell you how little money we spent on our gorgeous arrangements because it would piss everyone off! everything completely held up - there were zero problems with things wilting, falling apart, etc... everything looked as pretty at 11pm as it did at noon. also, they go over in person to your venue and double-check everything... i saw jerry making final adjustments when we pulled up in our limo during the pre-cocktail hour time. i got exactly what i wanted, everyone was so super nice, and my flowers were flawless. xoxo i love you nature's gift! read more

My mother made the arrangements for my wedding flowers at this shop and we couldn't have been more disappointed. They forgot our order! Seriously, when the flowers hadn't arrived at the designated time 2 hours before the ceremony we called them and they had no idea what we were talking about....the flowers had been paid for already. Ultimately they did agree to throw something together quickly for us and delivered just in time for the wedding. This experience was so unprofessional and upsetting, particularly for my mother who had worked so hard on all the details of my big day which side from this was perfect. I can't imagine a scenario in which I would ever use this shop again for any occasion. They made no attempt to make up for this egregious mistake other than a useless apology. read more

I used this florist for my wedding - 20 years ago this year! I just moved to CA and was cleaning out my old wedding file and came across the old order which prompted me to write the review. They took so much time with me to truly understand what I wanted. Very nice people. And they came through big time! I was so happy with the elaborate bouquet of gardenia, jasmine and lush greens as well as the floral arrangements at the ceremony and the reception (cake top, hair pieces, and usual arrangements). read more

My daughter was recently meeting her boyfriend's mother for the first time and wanted to bring her some sunflowers. I was out and about and right near my favorite sweet little family owned flower shop, Nature's Gift. I knew they would be able to help me, so I stopped right in and bought her a bunch. Joy (who is NOT a family member, but might as well be- ) made me the most beautiful arrangement with sunflowers, iris, and some other casual wildflowers- wrapped it up in in some raffia and ribbon and charged me something ridiculously low- and I left so excited; knowing my daughter would be tickled. When I walked in my house...my daughter came running up to me so proud to tell me SHE had just bought flowers at a very high end market in town. The kind of store that sells organic foods, clothes, card and flowers. While the flowers are beautiful, I always feel like you are not getting that same personal touch you do with your neighborhood florist. I did not however, want to burst her bubble, so I didn't tell her what I did. I looked at her stalks of sunflowers, wrapped simply with a ribbon, and admired them, because they were indeed, beautiful flowers. In my hands though- I had the flowers I had bought for her to bring. She took one look at them and said "Oh Mom......THOSE are the ones I want to bring!! THEY are so BEAUTIFUL!" I really tried to tell her I would have been happy to keep the ones I bought- but she was right, they really WERE prettier- and they were the same price!! My point is, and always will be- there is still a place in this world for our neighborhood florist. I have been going to Nature's Gift for every event in my family for the past 10 years- and they have NEVER let me down. The owner Mike and Mary, their son Dave, and Joy and Lisa feel like the family you haven't seen for awhile every time you go in there. They will help make suggestions if you don't know what you need...and by the time you are done- you already know for what occasion you will be returning. I recently ordered a floral arrangement through their website for my mom's birthday. I like that they have a selection of Modern arrangements. All of the flowers were very fresh and the arrangement was as described on the website, except for a substitution of the container (which they make a note of so I did not have a problem with it). I had to make a change to the delivery date, so I ended up calling them and Dave was really friendly on the phone. In the past, I have ordered through 1800flowers or Proflowers for my mom and grandmother's birthdays and mother's day, and they contract with local florists anyway. From now on I'll go directly to the Nature's Gift website in the future and by-pass the middle man! read more

I cannot tell you how disappointed I was recently with this florist. My friends and I have used this florist many times for prom flowers which btw are very expensive. For a boutineer and a wristlet they charge $90. Which might be acceptable if the flowers were pretty and came in as ordered but they weren't. When I pick up my flowers I almost cried. The color of the iris's were nothing like they promised. They were completey off. They offered nothing in its place either they just tried to say how pretty the arrangement looked. Then my good friend picked hers up and they were worse and were even browsing on the edges. Another friend got a call from this florist the day before and were told they were out of the purple flowers she has ordered since they used them all for mothers day. The florist also seemed to have hundreds of flowers and our guess is they had too many orders and they didn't put the time into the prom flowers. At $90 we expected much more. They have a good reputation but blew it big time this time. We will never use them again and will be sure to tell many other moms in the area about our bad experience. Maybe this place does well for weddings but I wouldn't risk it. Terrible experience. Sham on the owner I think his name is Mike for not to acknowledging the poor designs he saw last Friday on his orders. I hope he is able to spend all that money in good conscience. read more
