I chatted (online text) with a rep and asked if I could come by and pick it up as I wanted to avoid their $299.95 shipping fee. He said sure, but the price would then be $538 (after discount)!! That's a $178 markup! He said they first had to ship it to their store. Well, how else does all their furniture get to their store?! Why would www.ashleyfurniture.com advertise an item where the customer would then have to pay a stocking fee?!! He claimed they were independently owned.
