I came to Julie a few months ago hoping to improve my hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's disease after having a bad reaction to thyroid meds and being told by endocrinologists that there were "no other options". A credit where credit is due! "How I regained my life back". A year ago I came to Dr. Julie with severe allergies, chronic cough and very low energy levels. At the time I could sleep for 10 hours wake up, function for four hours and I was exhausted. Not to mention, I couldn't get pregnant for a year. Which to be frank scared me bc let's face it-what kind of a mother I would be constantly sleeping? Dr. Julie removed certain products that caused my body overreact from my diet and spotted something really important which could cause even bigger problems. My thyroid and my pituitary gland were off due to lack of nutrition and something that is called "non methylation". I can't recommend this place less. The supplements I was given made me incredibly unwell. My stomach was bloated and much worse than when I began treated ent and it's taken me a while to find someone who could help. I tried to speak with Dr Julie about it and she was very condescending and I compassionate. She also wanted me to see her daughter, who I gave $500 to and she didn't know anything about health. My honest advice is to stay far away from this place. Find a good functional medical doctor who uses real testing rather than this muscle testing that can have huge errors. Not to be dramatic but Dr. Julie has completely transformed my life. I started going to Dr. J in July in the midst of a mental breakdown. I tried psych meds, I started therapy but nothing seemed to be doing the trick until I met Dr. Julie. During my first visit she really took the time to actually ~ listen ~ what a concept, I know. She had me do this thing where waves were sent through my body to target inflammation and figure out what's going on in my body. Turns out my digestive track was all kinds of messed up, so Dr. J instructed me to drastically change my diet: cutting out sugar, dairy, grains and put me on couple supplements to aid my digestive system and naturally calm my anxiety. I can't explain to you how much a simple change in diet and taking vitamins and supplements has changed my entire life. Since then I see Dr. Julie every 2 weeks, it took about a month to feel back to my "normal self" again. Let me remind you, I wasn't working, I wasn't driving, I couldn't leave my house; I was down for the count. But after just a month I was out doing things again, I have started driving again, Im back at work, and now after two months of seeing Dr. J (& 10 years of dealing with generalized anxiety/depression), I can say I feel better than I've ever felt in my life, its so freeing. Every visit she reassesses me and modifies the supplements/vitamins I'm on based on how my body responds, I don't know how she does it but it works so?!?! I can now go about my daily life and though there are still stressors, I don't feel the constant nagging of anxiety for no reason - I can actually enjoy my life and have fun, weird! Best part is any questions you have whatsoever, Dr. J is there to help. She gives you her personal cellphone number to contact her whenever about anything! (And in my case I also got her daughters #, because she had gone through almost the same thing as me, so double win). So for example, since I am still on a psych med at the moment I had a visit with a psychiatrist and she fed my mind with fears, etc. and I texted Dr. Julie to give me a call whenever she could and she called me almost immediately and talked to me for about a half hour reassuring me and reminding me, everything is my choice and anything I choose to do she will stand by me and work alongside me ... that in itself made me feel empowered and in control of my own health which sometimes I think gets lost in traditional medicine or at least in my opinion. Anyway, point being, Dr. J genuinely cares about your well-being, she's always eager to hear what you've been up to and is actually interested in what you have to say; you're not just a "patient" in her office. Where do I begin..... My daughter had been taking my granddaughter to see Dr Julie for her many allergies and Dr Julie was the only one that was able to relieve her of her many reactions to almost everything she ate.. It was such an amazing difference to see this little girl blossom and become happy and healthy again. In the mean time I had been experiencing some issues myself for asthma and possibly allergies. I had been going to my regular doctor for years and although he kept prescribing multiple medications, I was not getting any better but actually getting worse. Julie Miller, ND is superb at ridding the body of parasites. In fact, what I love and appreciate the most about her is her intuitive ability to address serious issues. She recognized that what was ailing me had entered the cell wall and in the beginning of my treatment she took a step by step approach. Part of my agreement to work with her was to also work with her daughter who has experience as a fitness trainer and offers nutrition programs. The combination of the food I was consuming and the supplemental remedies helped my body expel parasites (so gross!) and expel them completely. But after a couple or few months of working with Dr. Miller, I flared up and grew sicker. Hence the two stars. I kept having flare ups that were so debilitating I couldn't get out of bed. My pain was far beyond level 10 all over head to toe and it was very hard to move. The sicker I grew the more impatient, rushed, and unprofessional Dr. Miller and her daughter grew. I followed their plan to a T and left their practice in far worse condition than I arrived, save for the parasites. And she missed two very serious diseases my body is fighting. Her daughter as a personality disorder that has been untreated and has a negative affect on patients. Dr. Julie is stressed. She is rushed. And the quality of care that drew me in was incongruent with my overall experience. I felt compassion for the woman who works at the front desk because she is fielding a level of negativity and a lack of professionality that has no place in a true naturpaths office. After leaving her practice, I found a much better and far more professional, as well as knowledgable licensed nutritionist. And board certified licensed practitioners who are able to properly handle my care along side me as a member of my treatment team. Woah was Dr. Miller's muscle testing way off!! The very foods she used to cure the parasites were the very foods that were creating havoc in my system. I now have a proper diagnosis and treatment for the chronic illness I am addressing. I even referred other patients to her and they too had a rather unsavory experience as well. Dr. Miller knew I was at my wits end with allopathic and naturopathic/alternative care. I never quit. I am tenacious. And finding the right answers to solve the issues in my body has required board certified, licensed, specialists. The nutrition that her daugther offers is certainly not for everyone and was very off of what my body needs to thrive. I am uncertain where she received her training. Kelley Miller Health and Life Coach. I took what I would call a risk when I saw her listing. In the past I would have come up with excuses as to why my life was already good and just pushed it to the side but, the day I saw her listing something inside urged me to contact her. Dr Julie is an amazing woman and wise counsel. It took us awhile to get to the bottom of my skin issue but through that process Julie was as much a spiritual advisor and friend as she was a healer. We share the same faith in Jesus and her strong faith and sage advice helped me through a tough time in my life. I am writing to update the review I wrote last week, and not to change the rating. In fact, if I could award more stars I would. I had a small setback with my Rheumatoid arthritis. My job requires me to do a lot of writing and start IV's and neither of these thing were going to happen with this hand. I texted Dr Julie with my diet log of the preceeding 48 hrs and it was discovered that the one dietary item that was recently added had grain in it. I don't know where I would be without Dr. Julie. To sum it up, I was pretty healthy most of my life or so I thought. After 2 kids I felt tired all the time and had some auto-immune issues that was affecting my skin.
