My favorite beach in Florida hands down! The water was clear, no jelly fish or swarms of seaweed. Sand was powdery soft and I loved that there were restaurants, bathrooms and parking near by. One stop perfection for my type of beach day!
This was my favorite beach on the Panhandle. Blueish Green water mixed with pearly white sand. It wasn't over crowded with people. Didn't see any seaweed or jellyfish in the water. I was able to get in the water and enjoy the waves. There was a light breeze so it wasn't too hot. I could have spent the whole day there!
One of the most beautiful beach on the Florida Panhandle. The beach is clean and well maintained. The fishing pier is a great spot for fishing and offers stunning views of the coast line. Navarre Beach is a true paradise for anyone looking to have a relaxing beach vacation. I can't wait to return!

If you love sugar white sand and private beaches without huge crowds , than this beach is for you. Sometimes you just need some peace and a small vacay to get away from the big city. Although it has been years since I have traveled here when my brother used to live in this area, it has grown in size but still is secluded enough to be worth a drive from home. Plenty of cool chill places to get sun and ocean.
Navarre is "Florida's Most Relaxing Place"! While I don't especially enjoy sand, I did find looking at this beach to be very relaxing, maybe because it was not at all crowded!! The beach is different in comparison to the West Coast beaches I'm familiar with! The sand is like white and the water is an inviting emerald green color, which is apropos as it is part of the Emerald Coast! Navarre Beach can be accessed in two ways: 1) via State Highway 399 which connects to Pensacola through the Gulf Island National Seashore. It is such a gorgeous drive and it's free to access. 2) via 399, the Navarre Beach Causeway (Navarre Bridge) from the mainland near Navarre Park. Navarre Beach is a barrier island. It consists of 12 miles of unspoiled shoreline mostly because it is located between two protected reserves; the Gulf Island National Seashore & Navarre Beach Marine Park. Go to the Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center at the Navarre Beach Marine Park if you're looking for something interesting to do! They are closed on Mondays, but you can see a few turtles outside in pens in the educational area. Interesting fact: A large portion on Jaws II was filmed in Navarre Beach in 1978. They hired locals as extras. I mostly just drove through Navarre Beach. Maybe next time I'm here, I'll touch the sand! It sure is inviting enough!
Beautiful beach! Visited in late April and the water was gorgeous -- no seaweed, no algae, no jellyfish -- just some windy, choppy waters. Bathrooms are maintained enough and lifeguards are present and very friendly. Already looking forward to returning again!
I never thought I could love a beach more than I love Pensacola. I almost hate to write the review because I want it to remain a quiet gem. Navarre is beautiful. This is one of the prettiest, secluded areas I've ever been to. The stretch of road between Pensacola Beach and Navarre Beach is a winding road of beautiful dunes at 35 mph. The drive alone reminds you yo take life in slowly and with appreciation. They have a few parking areas with direct access to the beach. I loved it so much, I went back a second time today. There's something about the unspoiled beauty that calms my soul. Being an introvert, this beach completely fits my needs and wants. It's completely bare; no shops, no beach chair rentals, no shower facilities that I could find. I'm sure there is a local beach where they have these amenities, but not on this quiet stretch. I love Navarre. Save the sea turtles!
Beautiful. Just beautiful. We stopped at Navarre Beach mainly because it was close and went on forever. The original plan was to stop at Pensacola Beach, but this was just as good, perhaps even better. The parking situation is so simple. Parking is literally right in front of the beach and they have multiple entrances. This isn't the chaos of South Florida, folks! The weather was lovely that day. Yes, it was hot, but we did get once in awhile a slight breeze. We wound up just lounging around in our chairs for an hour or so before continuing our road trip. We'd probably have gotten into the water except there was one problem. Where the heck were the bathrooms? Inquiring minds would still like to know! We had to get out of the area to even find a bathroom and that took over half an hour. I don't know how our bladders held. Truly the only reason I'm taking one star away.
I had written a review of Navarre beach before & updated it 3 times. All gone. Probably stuck in the cosmic loopy loop of the dematerialized Yelp matrix files, who knows? So, here is my review again. Navarre beach is THE wedding beach. The place to get married. I have been hanging around these beaches round here a lot lately and Navarre beach gets all the weddings. No other beach around here has as many weddings. LOVE is def in the air here! The facilities here have many gazebos for rent for wedding parties or any kind of party, with covered areas for catering etc., It's become the "beachwagon capital" also LOL everyone has a little wagon to get all their stuff down to the beach easily. We have one also :)) Anyhoo, the beaches are great, the water is beautiful & it makes for a great backdrop for beautiful photographs for weddings. Navarre beach is also a great place to bring all your beach toys & spend the day. There is tons of parking & you can choose the bay side or the ocean side. Paddle board, surf, wind surf, whatever, there are tons of lifeguards on the weekends & beach patrol. The pier is walking distance, there is a little cafe there & there is a also a gas station right at the entrance to the park where you can get some limited refreshments. Best to bring everything you need as it's not easy to get to shopping from Navarre beach park, especially on the weekends. MISERABLE TRAFFIC OVERLOAD !!! This is the only problem with Navarre Beach. There is nothing here except a gorgeous beach. And most importantly when you cross over the big bridge to get to Navarre beach park it's very hard to get back across to get food or drinks etc., Also, in rainy weather, the island is pretty much under sea level, it floods & the plumbing doesn't work well :(( We love Navarre beach but it's not my favorite. It's in my top 3 though. However, it is the best beach to have a gorgeous wedding ceremony & celebration of love. Great people watching. Fun for all.
I love this beach and this whole Emerald Coast! Crystal clear water and white sand, great lifeguards, and a nice long beach season. We've been visiting here for over 10 years and we love that there isn't so much commercialism at this beach (please continue to keep the chains away!).
The beaches are a beautiful white sand and the water is so clean. This beach inspires Tranquility, this beach takes you away from the day-to-day grind that allows you to look out upon the water and realize how vast this world truly is. This beach, as I have found in a lot of the Panhandle beaches, is very different from the beaches you will find that say Daytona Beach or Miami Beach. It is definitely a more laid-back environment. Navarre Beach likes to bill itself as "Florida's Most Relaxing Place" and walking the shoreline it is easy to believe that their claim is pretty accurate. It was a bit brisk today, so there was no real bathers, but there were people walking along the beach like myself and there were people fishing. One gentleman was rather ambitious and probably had about seven fishing poles placed around him and waiting for one of them to get a bite. I would definitely recommend a visit here. Beautiful white sand and crystal clear water make for a hard combination to beat. Come see for yourself.
Nice sugary white sand beach, but the seaweed was too much. Maybe it's that time of the year but we were all covered with small bits of seaweed all up everywhere in there! We liked that the lifeguards were attentive and doing their jobs. Great spot for families with strong swimmers because the waves were rough!
We're beach people. 100%. We do an annual beach vacation, usually as a family. Mostly, we've been on either end of Panama City Beach, but we decided to be different this year. We prefer a more quiet, relaxed beach atmosphere (versus anything like Spring Break). Navarre Beach is that. WAY fewer condos = way fewer people. Don't get me wrong - there's people there. It's just not crazy. The supporting infrastructure (Navarre Beach, and Navarre itself) don't offer up a ton. They have the necessities (a Walgreens, some grocery stores, a decent donut shop...), but lack some of the more touristy things you might want (mini golf, for example - you'll need to drive 30 minutes east or west to find that). Wife wife likes shelling. We've seen better shelling, but she kept busy. :) read more

We came to the area to visit friends who live here and they brought us to Navarre Beach a couple of days. We'd never heard of Navarre Beach, but we definitely enjoyed visiting it! We really liked that it wasn't very touristy (tourists are the WORST! Especially when they act like tourists!!) The beach was very clean and there were even public restrooms in the places we went and those were clean too. Something fun about the beach is that the home of the Blue Angels is nearby, so they do fly overs at this beach when returning home - this is awesome!! Definitely would like to return!!! read more
Seas the day at Navarre Beach! Beautiful white sand, a wide open bay and the Gulf of Mexico makes for a perfect vacation. Navarre Beach has been my family's destination for years. It's in a quiet, sleepy neighborhood, and the beach is clean. There is a pier for fishing and walking and a few restaurants near the beach. Not much else but townhomes, condos and houses. read more

Navarre Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches. Not only does it have history of having Jaws 2 filmed here with locals as extras. It is home to one of the Longest Fishing Piers on the Gulf Coast at ¼ of a mile. It's home to several Sea Turtles as well as a conservation and rehabilitation for the various sea life in our area. It's sugary white sands are a sight to be seen. "Leave only your footprints behind" Navarre beach is a prime vacation spot for families wanting a piece of serenity. The gulf spits some waves that can be awesome for those that want to surf or paddle. For inexperienced surfers, swimmers we have a new lifeguard system at most locations up and down the beach with new systems for our safety constantly coming. Beautiful public beach, free parking, white sand and clear blue water. The water feels a bit cooler than Fort Walton beach but still a great spot to hang out and cool off. read more
I was visiting in my family friends summer home, and wow... this beach is outstanding!! Crystal clear sand, so soft and not piling with garbage like other beaches I've been to in Florida, and the waters are not too rough, and man every day, even if it rains at some point, is AMAZING!!! Ok what the actual heck?!?!...This is a beautiful beach. White sands, clear aqua blue water, and the relaxing sound of the waves crashing along with the breeze is heavenly. But you already know there's a BUT!!!! And here's where the 'wth' comes to play; I didn't know flies sting. Yes, that's what I'm complaining about!!!!!!! They're nearly swarming and they actually bite. I did some reading on why that is, but you can do that too. So here I am trying to beach-bum but I can't because I'm too busy looking like a fool swatting away all the flies . You have been warned. read more

This is such a nice relaxing beach with beautiful white sand and crystal clear blue waters. There are areas designated for public beach and then each condo has its own section of private beach as well. This beach is where parts of Jaws II was filmed and is also home to several sea turtles. One of the longest fishing pier on the gulf can be found here as well! I highly recommend coming here if quiet relaxation is up your ally. If you're after more commercialization this probably isn't the place for you. read more
Touted as "the most relaxing place on earth", Navarre Beach is a far calmer place than it's down-the-street neighbor, Pensacola Beach. Both are characterized by blue-green colored water and are part of this area known as the "Emerald Coast". The approaches to Navarre Beach from the east and west side are filled with nesting areas of species of rare birds. The young ones are flightless and apparently do enjoy waddling across the street. Drivers must be prepared to stop at all times; hence the low speed limit. The speed limit is 25 m.p.h., which is enforced by the park police and some nasty speed bumps. The speed limit forces one to relax, enjoy the scenery and the slow ride. While I have not seen any flightless chicks, i have witnessed mothers feeding their young among the sand dunes. The blue-green waves softly crash around your feet as you walk along the white-sand beach. All sorts of life are supported by this beautiful beach. Hermit crabs, sand crabs, clams, mollusks conch, all types of birds and many other aquatic life. So, for a calm, non-touristy visit to a beach, Navarre is the way to go. If you want to fish, go to the Navarre Beach Pier, the longest one on the coast. For a small fee, you can fish all day. read more

We have absolutely fallen in love with Navarre Beach & along with the entire area- blessed to live so close to the ocean. I highly recommend Navarre Beach for a little vacation- a place to move to- this beach definitely out ways so many others I've visited. I love the fact that it's mostly pretty chill and not a lot of partying. Love! Love! Love! read more

This is probably my favorite beach in Florida. Here is why. First of all, the sand is so white that it looks fake. In a good way. The white, soft sand is perfect to lay down on or build a sand castle with. The waves are beautiful and thankfully I can watch them all day on the beach. Some times the shells poke you in the feet but only at the beginning of the ocean. Though, this beach is usually crowded in the day, if you go at night you will have the beach all to yourself. Beach chairs are usually not a problem, but if really crowded, be sure to bring a towel or your own chair! (Also, this place was one of the places were Jaws 2 was filmed!) read more

This beach is a great option not too far from Destin but the traffic is horrible everyday one way in and out. No immediate amenities close by until you leave the beach area but sand and water were beautiful depending on the time of day and season when we're were there In July 2021 they were experiencing an algae issue caused some discoloration in the water but great place! read more

We spent 2 weeks here the beaches are beautiful and peaceful. The traffic in Navarre is terrible. Not too many activities near here. This is definitely beach only. You have to drive at least 30 minutes to find activities. I did not like the traffic. And I did not like that there were no activities close by. I loved the beach, the Navarre pier, and the scenery. read more

Are there showers/hoses to wash down nearby?
Yes, where we were, there were two of them. It was smaller than I'm used too and it was out in the open.
Are dogs allowed on the beach?
There's a website bringfido.com that has info on where dogs are allowed. They're not allowed at Navarre Beach, unfortunately.
Can I find sea glass on this beach? If so how much?
I only saw shells, no glass at all.
